Top Pick Stats: 115/384 = -$78.60 Best Bets: 12/38 = –$19.20; Spot Plays: 7/38 = -$10.70 Best Bet:  NIGHTIME DANCER (RACE 13) Spot Play: MISS DUTTON (RACE 2) Early Pick 5: 2,6/9/1,7/4/1,5,7,9 = $3.20 Mid Pick 5: 6/2,3/5,6,9/5/2,4,5,7 = $4.80 Late Pick 5: 5/2,4,5,7/4,6/4,5,8,9/4 = $6.40  Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $39,500) LIFETIME. (6) SET SHOT was a strong 3rd in his season debut, behind a couple of really nice colts in that contest. He was pacing very strong at the end of that mile and looks poised for an even stronger showing this evening. (2) SMILING DANCER exits the same race as the one above and was never in contention. He was 5th but flashed a strong last quarter and will be a threat late.  (7) BLUE BAR was never a factor in his sophomore debut, finishing 8th in that contest. He qualified well coming into that start and is one to look out for. (3) TIME PASSER was a gate to wire winner in his latest to notch his first career score. He can step up with a good effort, but will need to find more. I’ll pencil him in for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $88,500 LIFETIME. (9) MISS DUTTON was aggressively handled in her latest and had no real estate late. She was stuck behind a pair of rivals and flashed some good speed late. A handful of these fillies are prepping for an SBOA final next week, and this mare will have more reason to be aggressively handled off the switch. I’ll give her top honors here. (2) AU JUS HANOVER was a measured winner in her latest and was under very tight lines to driver James Macdonald in that effort. She was full of herself and while she has the speed to contend, she will need to be a bit more quiet. She’s a contender here and merits big time respect. (5) PERFECTLY CHIC finished up her mile nicely to be 4th in her latest. She draws well, and should benefit having a start under her belt, but a bigger prize awaits next week. (1) AARDIES MONEY N was aggressively handled and cruised to an easy victory in her latest. She got away in a bad spot when she drew the rail two starts back and that’s something to be cognizant of. Race 3: SBOA ELIMINATION: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLT AND GELDING TROT. STARTING FEE $1,000 CDN $775 USD. (7) ARTFUL DODGER got away towards the back of the pack in his latest in what was a 3rd place effort, after a dominant, maiden-breaking score in his first start of 2025. He closed well but had too much ground to make up and can be even sharper this evening; top call. (1) GALEN ERSO will be making his sophomore campaign off a lone qualifier at The Meadowlands.  He had three wins as a rookie and can be competitive in this group, if tight enough. (3) FAST SNAP hasn’t missed the board in all three of his starts and he can continue that trend here. (2) MANFORCE got a bridle change in his latest effort and I figured that change might help him get to the winner’s circle — it didn’t, so the best I can slot him for is a share. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $65,750 LIFETIME. (4) COURTS ON FIRE will be making his 3YO debut after what was. Avery strong rookie campaign. He’s coming off a pair of strong qualifying efforts and looks poised for a winning effort at first asking; top call. (6) SAUBLE WILSON was stuck behind some bad traffic in his latest, but motored home nicely to be a very strong 2nd. He draws much better in comparison to his first two tries, and is a major player here. (9) THEMASKEDCRUSADR N went a tough journey in his latest when he left out aggressively and was parked the entire mile. He still hung on to be 5th in that effort despite the trip. He draws outside again and I’ll slot him in for a share here. (10) BEN LOOKIN went on a speed mission in his latest and faltered. He’s better suited when he’s chasing and he will likely have to deploy those tactics given his draw. He can grab a share. Race 5: NW $15,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000 (1)JACK PANIC was aggressively handled in his latest and got picked off by a rival who had fresh legs late. He was pestered by a rival who made a hard bid at him and he tired late. It was a big effort in defeat and he should be able to put forth another strong showing here. (5) PACINO HANOVER was pacing hard late and was 3rd, behind the one above. He draws well, can show versatility if need be and is a contender in this spot. (9) NAZARE continued to climb up the class ladder and put forth strong efforts. He raced in the Preferred in his latest and he was in way too tough. He’s back in for a tag of $70,000 and he very well could be sitting on a good effort. (7) NO CONTROL made an aggressive bid towards a strong winner and just couldn’t go by. He seems to be rounding into form and is one that could very well find the winner’s circle, in what is a wide open race to close out this p5 sequence.  Race 6: SBOA ELIMINATION: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLT AND GELDING TROT. (6) GETTHEGREEN was about to flip off cover and made his charge in the line but jumped it off. He appeared to be in what I thought was a winning spot before the miscue, and is one I’ll go back to and hope he stays to task this evening. (5) PL SPENCER raced huge in defeat in his latest. He left our aggressively from pp10 and made multiple moves in the process in what was a strong 2nd place finish. He draws much better and will be given every chance here. (7) FLEETWOOD MAC was conservatively handled in his latest and closed to be 4th. He’s versatile if need be and can grab a big piece with the right trip. (2) FLANAGAN SUNSHINE made a miscue in his latest after settling in off the gate. He can grab a share. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $39,500) LIFETIME. (2) HAZARDOS is coming off back to back wins to start off his 3YO campaign. This is tougher company that he will take on this evening, but he is sharp enough and will have speed to chase, which should be to his benefit. I’ll give him the nod to triple up. (3) ASIAGO SEELSTER was the one to beat going into his latest start, but he made a miscue before the start and even again when he recovered. He is a big, fast colt and is one that merits respect if he stays to task. He’s a contender. (1) BETTORSEETHESHOW has hit the board in 6 of 9 starts this year and should be given every opportunity to do the same here. (4) AQUINAS HANOVER will be making his 2nd start of his 3YO campaign. This colt has some talent but can be tricky to handle, and with new trainer Justin Turcotte at the controls this evening, I’ll slot him in for a share. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. (9) ODDS ON PLATINUM was bet like she was ready for a big effort in her 2025 debut and certainly put forth a strong showing in defeat. She left out aggressively and led the entire way, before she got picked off by a rival with fresh legs late. She draws outside, but the game plan will likely be the same as last week. (6) CENTURY JAMILA has been razor sharp as of late but faced defeat for the first time in weeks after being locked in the pocket last time out. She draws well and can bounce back with the right trip. (5) CAVIAR N CRACKERS picked them off late in the mile when she came flying late. She will need a similar set up, and if so, she will be tough to fend off. (2) TELLS ON A ROLL was 4th in her first start of 2025. She likely needed that start to get herself even more fit and should be even tighter this evening.  Race 9: WINNERS OF 2 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $105,000) LIFETIME. (5) CRACK SHOT will get set to make his sophomore debut off a pair of very nice qualifiers. He ended his rookie season very strongly and should be coming into his 3YO campaign with plenty to look forward to. He should have every opportunity to deliver here. (3) FIFTH AND FIVE made pp10 look like it was no problem in his 3YO debut. He floated out for positioning and came first over with ease, and drew away from his rivals to deliver as the choice. He draws much better and could be even better with a start under his belt, but will still need to find even more to get the better of the one above. (4) STERLING CHOICE is also coming into his sophomore campaign after a very strong rookie campaign. He, too, is coming in sharp and is one of the three colts in this field who have a lot to look forward to. (8) WHY WOULDNT YA can close late for a share but is up against it as a win candidate.  Race 10: PREFERRED 2. (4) TAURASI was never a factor in his latest getting away towards the back of the pack. He showed decent pace late and now avoids a rival who’s been on a big winning streak. He draws well, and I expect him to be aggressively handled here. (7) POSEIDSON SEELSTER was a game 2nd in his latest try. He draws outside but can be activated off the ditch early and can contend here this evening.  (5) WRITE ME A ROSE worked out a nice trip in his latest in a 6th place effort. He draws the middle of the gate and he has shown he’s good enough of a big effort here when at his best; using. (2) JABBERWOCKY closed nicely late and is one that is a danger if there’s speed to chase.  Race 11: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS. (4) CENTURY INSPECTOR was my spot play last time out and he delivered a dominant score at odds of 4/1. He draws well again and he should be pointed forward off the wings, and will look to play catch me if you can. (6) STASH IT AWAY made his first start for new trainer Jodie Cullen. He could improve in his second start under the new barn and is a contender here. (8) CONTROL THE POWER didn’t have much to offer after being aggressively handled in his latest. He could grab a bigger piece with an easier trip. (1) ACAPULCO SUNBURN disappointed as the choice in his latest after being airborne late in the mile two starts back. If we see that version, he’s a danger.  [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 12: FILLIES & MARES, NW $15,000 LAST 5 OR NW $24,000 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000 (5) GOUDAWON wasn’t much of a factor in her latest after being locked in on the inside in her latest. She showed some pace when she shook free but might be better suited with a trip that’ll see her be forwardly placed. She draws the middle of the gate here and I’d expect that kind of approach here. (4) WESTERN WISH was never a factor in her latest when she got away towards the back. She was even but was never going to have a chance anyways. She draws well and should be aggressively handled here. (8) MS QUICK SAND was sneaky good in her latest, and one that is a good value player in this sequence. (9) SETTN A PRECEDENT made a couple of moves in her latest and tired in the stretch. She could benefit from racing off the pace and is one I’ll throw in on multi legs in the event the pace collapses.  Race 13: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $20,000 OR NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 8 STARTS). LEG 2. AE: LEG 1 STARTERS. (4) NIGHTIME DANCER was a good 2nd to a strong winner in his latest. He draws well and is sharp coming in. I’ll I’ve him top honors to close out the card. (8) LARCENY took a shuffle and was able to get out late in the mile because of a rival going off stride. He had a clean trip and has double-up potential in here with the right trip. (3) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA was aggressively handled in a victory in his latest. He draws another favorable post and will be activated off the switch. (9) SERIOUSLY HANOVER disappointed as the chalk in his latest. He draws outside and will need a trip to work out in his favor. (6) BAYFIELD BEACH draws well and can round out the Hi-5.
