AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. AE: NW $22,500 IN 2025. (5) ALABAMA HANNAH was a runner-up to a very strong winner in her latest. She bounced back in that effort off some fair efforts and looks poised to find the winner’s circle this evening; draws well. (1) SHOOT THE WHISKEY never really had much of a chance but showed some sneaky pace between rivals late in the mile. She picks up the services of Jonathan Drury this evening and can pick up a big piece with the right trip. (8) FOX VALLEY TESSA flew home late in the mile to be a strong 2nd. She draws outside and will need some speed to chase but she should have every chance with the right trip. (9) GRIT N GRACE hit the ticket in her latest after stepping up in class. She’s been sharp and is capable of taking another step forward here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (4) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER is coming off one of his patented, gate-to-wire scores and did so in dominant fashion. He draws well again and we’re expecting a similar effort. (2) BATTERUP HANOVER angled out at the top of the lane after being last for most of the mile and didn’t have as much pop as I would’ve expected. He’s capable of a big effort and should have plenty of speed to chase with the one above, if he’s good enough. (3) WIND BLOWN was given a good trip but was no match for the choice in that contest. He can hit the ticket in this spot. (7) HURRIKANE CHEYENNE appeared to not be able to keep up as they approached the 3/4 pole, but showed good late speed when shaking loose, to just miss out. He’ll have every opportunity to hit the ticket. Race 3: NW $2,800 LAST 5 OR NW $10,950 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (9) ETERNALLY HANOVER made a miscue off the gate in his most recent try. He will have to start from the far outside this evening but is handy enough off the wings. I’m hoping he can work out a winning trip here to get the job done in this IWD women’s race. (2) MISTER MAGIC has hit the board in 5 of his last 6 tries and will likely be the race favorite here; he’s the one to beat. (1) SO NOT COOL left out for early positioning at 63/1 and made a bobble, before being parked for most of the mile. He is capable of getting a piece with a stalking trip. (4) VERACRUZ was a runner-up in his latest try. It was a good effort and he can build off that. Race 4:  POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (6) PARTYINTHESHADOWS rallied nicely to be 3rd in his most recent effort. He draws well here and can hopefully work out a trip in a race that will have some speed to chase; top call. (3) MAJOR FERNCO N plunges down in class here and should be the one to beat in this Pop-Up series. He hasn’t raced in a month coming into this contest which is something that worries me a little bit. (7) LOVEMYROCKINBIRD enters this contest off a 3rd place qualifying effort. He was moving well late in the mile and might be ready for a good effort if the race develops in his favor. (4) PALLADIUM HANOVER hasn’t hit the board in 4 straight tries but is better than what he’s shown as of late. He can hit the ticket. Race 5:  4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $25,250) LIFETIME. (2) GYPSY JOE is coming off a 3rd-place qualifying effort and showed good late speed in that outing. He was a winner at this level 10/19 and will debut for new trainer Daniel Gassien this evening. I’ll give him the nod in this race off that prep and hope for some value. (10) BEN LOOKIN is coming off a dominant score at London when he left out for early positioning from the 7 hole and crushed his rivals. He draws outside but is one I wouldn’t overlook in this spot. (4) BETTORSEETHESHOW wasn’t much of a factor in his latest from an outside draw. He was moving well in the late stages of the mile and should improve here with a better draw. (5) MOOD CONTROL has rounded out the super two starts in a row and is one that can hit the ticket late. Race 6:  WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $100,000) LIFETIME. AE: 4 YO N/A $2,650 P/S IN 2025. (2) IVY PARK went on a speed mission and was runner-up to a dominant winner. He has been racing well and should have every opportunity to find the winner’s circle in this field of 7. (6) RJ RINGO has hit the board in two straight tries and has been racing consistently well since entering the Onrej Gois barn. He draws well and should be given every chance. (7) TOBINS CHESTER didn’t fire much in his latest. He hit the board in 3 straight tries prior to that effort and will be reunited with Jonathan Drury, who guided him to a 2nd place finish on 2/8. (4) TROSA A was a comfortable winner in his latest off the drop in class. He faces tougher company this evening but will have every chance to land on the ticket in a short field. Race 7:  NW $21,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NW $150,000 LIFETIME. (7) MERIGO MAGIC was a dominant winner in his Ontario debut. He converted off a pocket trip but appeared to have plenty more in the tank in that effort. This is a much tougher task here tonight but I’m willing to give him a nod and hope for some value in this contest. (1) REDWOOD HANOVER was moving well up the inside late in the wire to be 3rd. He opened up several lengths after the wire and will likely be the one to beat in here tonight. (9) JACK PANIC didn’t have much to offer despite a perfect trip in his latest. He’s capable of a good effort and is handy enough to work out a favorable trip from the outside. (3) MELANION N ships in from tries at The Meadows and Batavia and will race out of the Kyle Fellows barn here. He loves to do his best work late in the mile and should appreciate the longer stretch this evening. Race 8:  POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (1) HOWMAC MAXIMUS exits a 4th-place try at Flamboro in his latest. He took on a big class dropper in that effort and had missed one month prior to that contest. He will race on Lasix for the 2nd time this evening and is one I think is capable of a winning effort in a wide-open group. (7) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE wasn’t much of a factor in his latest but hit the board in two straight starts prior. He fits this group well and is capable of a good effort, at his best. (3) ARMOR SEELSTER never had a chance in his latest try after finishing 4th vs. a dominant rival. He should appreciate the company he keeps tonight and can work out a winning trip. (5) HUNTER HILL was aggressively handled vs. a tougher group but didn’t have much to offer in the lane. He draws well, will likely be pointed forward off the gate, and can grab a share. Race 9: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $41,500) LIFETIME. AE: NW $9,500 IN 2024-2025. (5) TRINIDAD never had much of a chance from post 10 last time out. He got away last off the car but finished up really well late in the mile to finish a strong 3rd. He draws the middle of the gate and should be able to work out a better trip in this spot; top call. (7) REGIL BUBB was handled aggressively off the car in his latest and was able to reign victorious. He has hit the board in 6 straight tries and has won two of those efforts. He merits respect. (6) SETTHEWORLDONFIRE was a solid runner-up finisher to a rival many pegged as a sure-fire winner. He draws well and can build off that effort in this spot. (8) SMOKIN HOT DUDE has been no worse than 2nd in his two starts for new trainer Ben Wallace. He draws outside but can hit the ticket here. Race 10: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS NW $30,000 IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS). (5) HESINCONTROL has hit the board just once over his last 5 starts, but will not race out of the barn of Jodie Cullen. He has proven in the past he’s capable of getting the best of the group that he faces tonight, and the chance of scenery might get him back on the right track this evening. (2) BROOKDALE JOHNNY came first up during a quickly paced 3rd quarter and tired late. He was a winner two starts back vs. similar company and can get back on track here this evening. (9) GENTLEONMYMIND has been hampered with outside draws as of late. He draws poorly yet again but has enough late speed to secure a good piece. (3) ACAPULCO SUNBURN was aggressively handled in his latest before fading to 5th. He hasn’t raced in over one month coming into tonight, but has hit the board in 3 starts prior to that effort; he can grab a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 11: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $60,750 (OS $83,750) LIFETIME. (3) BEACH COWBOY bounced back with a solid runner-up performance after a lackluster effort in the start prior. He doesn’t have to take on a rival who has dominated this class over the last two tries and finally draws inside; top call. (4) OVERTHINKING didn’t have much of a chance in his latest when getting away towards the back of the pack. He was moving better in the late stages of the mile and showed improvement in start #2 for new trainer Carmen Auciello. (5) MANHAWK is coming off a 2nd place qualifying effort behind Emmetts Buddy, who has been racing regularly in the Preferred/Open at WEG. He draws well and could work out a favorable trip in his return to pari-mutuel action. (8) SOUTHWIND INFUSION rallied nicely to be 3rd in his most recent effort. He was off one month in that contest and should be tighter; unfortunately he has to start from the outside. Race 12: NW $8,500 LAST 5 OR NW $20,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $52,000 IN 2024-2025 (MIN 15 STARTS). (2) NAZARE went on a speed mission in his latest and tired to be 5th. He might be better suited with a helmet to chase and he might get that kind of trip in a race that could have plenty of speed to chase. (7) MR IBIZA N tore off a 3rd-over trip and rallied nicely to be 3rd. (3) HUNGRY MAN should appreciate this class drop tonight and was 2nd at this level two starts back. He draws well and should be involved again early. (9) SOUTHSIDE EDDY was aggressively handled in his latest and was able to slip up the inside late to score. He steps up in class but is capable of another good showing here. (1) CODE CRACKER has hit the board in 4 straight starts and will have every opportunity to get a piece here.
