Top Pick Stats: 134 - 445 / $650.50 (-$221.20) Best Bets: 23 - 43 / $75.10 (-$10.90) Spot Plays: 5 - 41 / $21.20 (-$60.80) Best Bet: PEMBERTON (9TH) Spot Play: BALLYKEEL PAINTER (11TH) Early Pick 5: 4,6,9/1,7,8/1,2,5/2,6,7/6 = $16.10 Middle Pick 5: 1,3/4,7,8/1,4/2/2,5,9 = $7.20 Late Pick 5: 1,8,9/3,8/8,9/6,8/2,3,8 = $14.40 Early Pick 4: 2,6,7/6/1,3/4,7,8 = $3.60 Middle Pick 4: 1,4/2/2,5,9/1,8,9 = $3.60 Late Pick 4: 3,8/8,9/6,8/2,3,8 = $4.80 Race 1: NW $20,000 in 2023/24 or N/A $1,280 P/S in 2023/24 AE: NW $1,700 L3 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (4) VILLEFRANCHE AS was better last week racing in the snow which could be an indication that she is approaching her best form. I’ll give her the nod to kick off this marathon 15-race card. (6) SPICY RED HEAD was in too tough last time. She gets Macdonald back here and she races best with that teamster in the bike. She will likely be the one to fend off late. (9) CADILLAC dropped from 54 to 1 two starts back to 8 to 5 and he jogged. He is a threat despite drawing widest here. (7) TALISMANO can show speed here and stick around for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: F&M 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (8) ALWAYS A CATCH raced well when beaten by Mikki Sixx, who is now 2 for 2. This sharp filly has a decent chance of wiring these. (7) RIGHT MATCH is one of two McIntosh returnees in here that were both qualified by Macdonald, who lands here. She paced a 55 2/5 back 1/2 in her qualifier on 3/22 which indicates readiness. (1) BETTERWITHGLASSES jogged at this level two starts back and she took down an unbeaten rival on that occasion. She is another in with a shot in a good betting race. (5) PEELER is the other McIntosh returnee, and she will be McClure’s first drive back following an absence due to injury. I prefer to use her underneath. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW $20,000 in 2023/24 or N/A $1,280 P/S in 2023/24 AE: NW $1,700 L3 (2) NO ANGEL LIKE ME is only 2 for 34 lifetime, but she was close in a much tougher field last time and this could be the spot for her third win. (1) EPIC DREAMER beat better than these five starts back. If he stays flat, he should be right there vs. this group. (5) MASTER GRAND raced okay in the women drivers race when last seen now he gets the first time McNair angle in his favor. He is another possibility for the early Pick 5. (6) WHIZZER WALLEE exits the same race as the choice and he can land in the bottom of the exotics tonight. Race 4: F&M NW $8,000 L5 or NW7 LT AE: OPT CLM $50,000 AE: NW $1,540 P/S in 2023 or 2024 - Pick 4 (2) JKS ROLLIN BABY changed tactics last time and she was flying late racing in the snow. Her price will drop here but she has a good chance vs. these. (6) ELLAS REASON A faced much tougher at Yonkers in her North American debut and she can improve sharply here making her first start for trainer Auciello; using. (7) LADYTERRA raced well in defeat at this level on 3/22. She should be in the mix again. (4) IRIS SEELSTER stole a slow second 1/4 racing in the snow last week and held on late. I don’t see her getting the same trip tonight and I’ll use her on the bottom. Race 5: F&M NW $18,000 L5 It’s hard to believe that (6) SO MUCH MORE isn’t the morning line favorite racing this low. Anything close to her best crushes these. (5) SETTN A PRECEDENT took all the action and motored home to win last time but she loses the leading driver to the choice. She will be racing for second here if the choice shows up. (3) SHES GOT IT ALL raced well but was nailed by two rivals that flew down the middle of the track. She is in the exotics mix here. (7) MYSTIFYING has come back sharp and she should close for a slice. Race 6: NEW HOLLAND PACING SERIES FINAL - Pick 5 (3) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH made a middle move to the lead then proceeded to crush his rivals in leg 2 of this series. If he repeats that mile, his rivals will be in trouble here. (1) HP MOMENTUM had no shot starting from the 10-hole in an 11-horse field. I could see him getting the trip and springing an upset tonight starting from the rail; using. (8) UNCLE SHANK A was no match racing first up against the choice and he got no favors with the draw here. I’ll use him underneath. (7) THE GREEK FREAK closed for 2nd to the choice last week and he will be coming late again. He should be part of the Tri or Super. Race 7: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 (4) SWEET DEISEL crushed many of these last time when racing off the Lester claim and he is the one to beat right back. (7) INSTANTANEOUS is the only one that gained ground on the choice in the final 1/4. I could see him springing an upset if he is positioned closer to the front this time and I’ll use him on multi-race tickets. (8) ROCK AND TWIST took a new season’s mark racing off the Auciello claim and he beat a decent field that night. He is another to consider for multi-race tickets. (1) HAPUNA BEACH was no match for the choice last week; small share predicted here. Race 8: F&M NW $4,000 L5 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 - Pick 4 I thought (1) GIMMIE A CORONA raced well on the lead in the snow when she fell just short, and she has a good chance to work out a winning trip here starting from the rail; top call. (4) BUTTERFLY KISSES closed in 26 1/5 in the snow on a night where final quarters were generally fast, but she could do no better than 7th. She gets needed class relief, and she will be coming late here; using. (5) FATED FIRE got McNair back last week and he provided her with a perfect trip that led to an upset win. This is a tougher spot and I’ll use her underneath. (2) FEEL ITINYOURHANDS can close for another small share in this spot. Race 9: NEW HOLLAND TROTTING SERIES FINAL (2) PEMBERTON didn’t fool around in Leg 2 of this series, and I see more of the same coming tonight. He is the clear one to beat here. (1) SOUTHWIND ONCORE took a new life’s mark when he beat the choice in the opening leg, and he can be an Exacta factor here if he stays flat. (4) LOCATELLI was sold after Leg 1 and he produced a nice closing effort for his new owners to finish 2nd behind the choice. He is in the exotics mix again. (6) SPECIAL MISSION gets a much better post here and he can grab a small slice. Race 10: Winners of 4 but not more than 7 or $80,000 LT (5) BETTER B SIRIUS tipped his hand that a big effort was coming when he closed in 26 3/5 two starts back, then he came back to crush and take a new lifetime mark at a short price. Off that strong effort, I’ll give him the call to repeat. (2) ALL BETS ON TEX couldn’t be any hotter but he this looks like a tougher assignment facing at least one rival that is unlikely to let him race unchallenged for most of the mile. I wouldn’t take a short price here. (9) SPEAKER OF PEACE tries hard every week, and he could be the beneficiary if the top two hook up in a battle; price look for the multis. (4) LETS GO JUDE can be better here adding Lasix; using underneath. Race 11: 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT - Pick 5 This looks like a race that can set up for a closer and I’ll take a price shot with (7) BALLYKEEL PAINTER who shows the fastest final quarters. (1) VIS A VIS BLUECHIP had a good sophomore debut and he can be even sharper now. He is the one to catch and beat. (8) LOGAN BEHOLD might work out a pocket trip again and that makes him a threat; using. (9) UGOTTALOVEBLUECHIP is worth a look for a share with Macdonald choosing him over others.   Race 12: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT - Pick 4 (3) SHREDDAR can be quirky, but when he behaves, he is very fast as seen by his sub-1:52 blowout win in his last start. He gets Macdonald now and he is the one to beat. (8) TARQUINUS HANOVER blasted, yielded, then converted the pocket trip to win. (2) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT has been producing big late speed in most of his starts, but he will likely have a hard time passing one or both of the top two choices. I’ll use him underneath. (9) TACTICAL SEELSTER rarely misses the top four and he is worth using underneath at a price here. Race 13: NW $14,000 L5 or $28,500 L10 AE: NW $100,000 LT (8) REACTOR NOW A was locked in the pocket for the entire stretch drive last time and he finished with pace but he had no way of advancing. He could get a similar trip here, and some better racing luck; top call. (9) STONE CARVER raced well enough to win last week, Seriously Hanover, who would probably be favored in here, was just a bit better. This gelding will likely be the one to catch again. (6) AMERICAN HISTORY was first up last week and that’s not his trip. He likely sits and rallies for a share tonight. (2) ILIKEMEBETTOR A will likely sit a trip and take another share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 14: NW $22,000 L5 or $36,500 L8 AE: NW9 LT (6) SAULSBROOK VICTOR couldn’t see it through on the lead vs. the mighty Taurasi who was winning his seventh straight race last Saturday. This is a better spot and he can beat these on the class drop. (8) POINTS NORTH finished ahead of the choice but he got an easier trip. He is typically a threat when he drops; using. (4) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE jogged at a similar level to this two starts back but he beat a weaker field that night. I’d demand a price here. (1) ARIO HANOVER looked good winning his qualifier on March 22nd, but this isn’t the easiest spot to start the year; using underneath. Race 15: NW $8,000 L5 or $17,650 L10 AE: OPT CLM $50,000 (2) WHEELS ON FIRE raced better in his second start back as he was game first up to hold third in an accelerating late pace. I think McNair gets more aggressive with him tonight and he takes his first win of the year. (3) ORDER ONE TO GO will likely be the one to fend off drawing better so he can lay closer this time; using. (8) HESINCONTROL’s form is improving and he is one to consider at a price for the late multis. (6) BEYOND BETTER will likely come on late to take a share. (1) CAPITANO ITALIANO dropped and popped, getting a good trip to prevail. I prefer to use him underneath in this spot.
