Top Pick Stats: 134 - 445 / $650.50 (-$221.20) Best Bets: 23 - 43 / $75.10 (-$10.90) Spot Plays: 5 - 41 / $21.20 (-$60.80) Best Bet: JILLIBY DYNAMITE A (5TH) Spot Play: CONTROL THE POWER (7TH) Early Pick 5: 4,5,7/1,5,6,8/5,6/1,3,5/3,5 = $28.80 Late Pick 5: 3,5/6,8/1,3,7/3,4/3,5 = $9.60 Early Pick 4: 1,3,5/3,5/3,5/6,8 = $4.80 Late Pick 4: 1,3,7/3,4/3,5/3,5,6,10 = $9.60 Race 1: 5YO and younger NW2 or $32,500 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (4) ARTSALIVE was part of a hot early pace last week and he stayed for a share. He projects to get an easier trip tonight and he gets top billing to kick off the early Pick 5. (5) DONT FREAK OUT got too far back last week and he could do no better than 5th. He is capable of better, and he should get a quicker start here leaving from the center of the gate; using. (7) RJS SUPERFREAK finished ahead of the choice last week as both were chasing a blowout winner. He is another possibility for Pick 5 tickets. (10) D A LUNCHBOX is worth a look racing off the Moreau claim. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 (8) ST LADS BEAT IT was too far back last week racing off the Fellows claim, but he did manage to pass more than half of his rivals. The smaller field should help tonight, and I’ll stick with him. (6) SWEET DEISEL won as expected when claimed by Lester. He is in the mix shooting for a threepeat. (1) HAPUNA BEACH gets class tested here jumping up off the Auciello claim, but he has been so good recently that he might be up to it. (5) MARSHALL ZHUKOV raced close to a very fast early pace, and he just missed. Macdonald sticks with him and he is another that is in the conversation in a competitive field. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: PREFERRED (5) TAURASI is the king of the local Preferred castle until he gets dethroned. (6) SOARING NOW lacked room when 2nd to the choice two starts back then he came back to win. He has the recency edge, and he could be the one to take the choice down. (3) SAULSBROOK VICTOR has hit his best form and he should be part of the Tri here. (1) TELLS ON A ROLL has been as sharp as can be, but this is a different ballgame taking on Open male pacers; small share predicted. Race 4: 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT - Pick 4 (1) GERONIMO CREEK paced a sub-56 back 1/2 in his sophomore debut and he should be on go at the start now with that comeback tightener under his belt; top call. (5) VIS A VIS BLUECHIP had a good rookie campaign and he won early, taking a Grassroots event in his second start and he looks ready to roll based on his most recent qualifier; using. (3) UGOTTALOVEBLUECHIP took a mark of 1:55-flat here last year and it looks like he has been raced into shape. He is worth a look for the exotics on connections alone. (10) SAILORS SHADOW would be rated higher if he drew better. A small share is likely his ceiling starting from out there. Race 5: NEW HOLLAND PACING SERIES Leg 2 (5) JILLIBY DYNAMITE A was bet like he couldn’t lose shipping in from Pocono last week and he used his high early speed to get the lead, let one go then rallied late for the win. Off that strong effort, he gets the call to repeat. (3) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH, 2nd to the choice last week, had missed five weeks and he should be sharper tonight. He is the other one that I’ll use in early multi-race tickets. (2) POSEIDON SEELSTER got picked off late by a strong closer last week. He will likely look for a covered trip this time. He should be part of the Tri. (10) H P MOMENTUM produced a nice rally to win an opening leg of the series now he draws worst. A small share is likely the best he can hope for tonight. Race 6: Winners of 4 but not more than 6 or $80,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $60,000 - Pick 5 (3) STORMALONG just took a new life’s mark at this level, and it appears that he will get a good trip racing on or near the lead in this short field; call to repeat. (5) NIGHTIME DANCER re-rallied after taking a shuffle and he is a repeat candidate also; using. (4) LARCENY draws better here but he was two seconds slower than the choice last week. I’ll use him underneath. (1) CABOT BEACH likely sits and rallies for a share. Race 7: NW $1,500 L3 AE: Starters for a purse of $7,800 or less last 3 (8) CONTROL THE POWER gets to drop to the bottom conditioned level here and a big speed try is likely coming from him tonight; top call. (6) ROCK AND TWIST gets protected here racing off the claim after getting parked the mile. He also picks up Filion and this looks like a good spot for him; using. (3) CAPTAIN FIREBALL produced a big rally for the win last week but these are tougher. I’ll use him underneath. (1) TORONTO can get a following trip and take a small share here. Race 8: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $47,000 LT - Pick 4 (1) KAPTAIN KARLOS was good last week, but he couldn’t get past a razor-sharp rival that was taking a repeat win. He looks best vs. these and he gets the nod. (7) HIGH VOLTAGE DEO was only a neck behind the choice in a good effort and I can see these two battling for the win down the lane. I’ll use both on late multi-race tickets. (3) RICARDOSHILYSHALLY ships north and lands in a spot where he should be in the mix and he draws the leading driver. He is another capable of winning. (6) BETTOR B SIRIUS gets post relief here. He can close for a slice. Race 9: NW $14,000 L5 or $29,500 L10 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 or NW $150,000 LT or NW $500 L3 (3) SERIOUSLY HANOVER paced two identical 27 3/5 opening quarters, then drove away to another easy win. He is the one to beat here as he shoots for a fourpeat. (4) CODENAME CIGAR BOX drops, and he jogged racing one level higher than this the last time he wasn’t in a Preferred race. He should be the main threat. (6) HUNGRY MAN is consistent, and he rarely misses the board. He should take another share here. (5) STONE CARVER is hot, but he gets class tested here. I’ll use him underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW $8,150 L5 or $18,550 L10 AE: NW1 in 2024 or N/A $1,565 per start in 2023/24 (3) WHEELS ON FIRE got a needed start in after missing close to nine months following the accident in the Mohawk Gold Cup. A reasonable facsimile of the old Wheels On Fire crushes this field. (5) LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE another dropper that figures and Borth will likely put him into play leaving the gate this time. He is the logical alternative to the choice. (7) LETS TIE ONE ON gets Cullen back and he should be passing horses in the back 1/2. He should be in the exotics mix. (4) HUNTER HILL has been racing well and he is worth a price look for the bottom of the Tri and Super. Race 11: NW $4,450 L5 AE: N/A $1,255 per start in 2023/24 (6) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA gets away from streaking All Bets On Tex here and I’ll take a price stab on him in a field with no standout. (5) BOLT POWER flew late but he had too far to come, and the winner got the much better trip. Macdonald sticks and I’ll use this one in the late Pick 4. (3) CAPITANO ITALIANO fits better here not having to face Stone Carver. He can be a late threat vs. these. (10) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER adds Lasix tonight and his best race crushes these but it’s hard to predict what version of him we’ll see tonight; price look for the late Pick 4. (8) THATLL BE TIGER was in too tough last week. He can be part of the Super or High-5 tonight.
