Top Pick Stats: 122 - 404 / $593.90 (-$214.10) Best Bets: 21 - 39 / $69.90 (-$8.10) Spot Plays: 5 - 37 / $21.20 (-$52.80) Best Bet: MR ANDREYCHUK (7TH) Spot Play: KAPTAIN KARLOS (6TH) Early Pick 5: 2,3,4,5/6,7/1,3/2,8,9/2,6,7 = $28.80 Late Pick 5: 1,4,8/7/2,7/1,2,6,8/2,8,10 = $14.40 Early Pick 4: 2,8,9/2,6,7/1,4,8/7 = $5.40 Late Pick 4: 7/2,7/1,2,6,8/2,8,10 = $5.40 Race 1: Winners of 4 but not more than 7 or $80,000 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** This is a good betting race to kick off the early Pick 5. I’ll stab with (4) LETS GO JUDE, who had two 10-holes in a row and wasn’t asked to do much but now draws inside. Drury should have him geared up to leave this time. (2) NAZARE just beat similar and he is an obvious contender again but he loses Macdonald in this spot. That alone should boost his price though. (3) SPEAKER OF PEACE couldn’t chase down Nazare last week but that was his second start back after missing some time. He could be even sharper now and turn the tables. (5) CABOT BEACH flew home last week and Macdonald sticks with him. He is in with a shot but I wonder if he will get over bet. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NEW HOLLAND PACING SERIES Leg 1 I see (7) POSEIDON SEELSTER and (6) CENTURY HEINEKEN both blasting, racing 1-2 most of the way then settling the race down the lane. A slight edge goes to the former who has been landing in the money facing better recently. (5) FRANKIE FRANKIE is an interesting shipper that ripped off a sub-1:52 qualifier but he will likely find the top two choices too tough in here; using underneath. (2) H P MOMENTUM should close for a small share in this short field. Race 3: NEW HOLLAND PACING SERIES Leg 1 (1) UNCLE SHANK A, qualified twice by Macdonald, was his choice over three others here and he certainly is fast enough for these; top call. (3) POWERTRAIN has a recent Preferred 2 win on his card and he should be prominent throughout in this six-horse field. He is the one to fear. (2) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH jogged in 1:49 2/5 but that was more than a month ago. He will likely need a start coming off a sick scratch. (6) JILLIBY DYNAMITE A is a well-traveled shipper that should be good for a share here. Race 4: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 Pick 4 (10) ST LADS BEAT IT was claimed by Fellows who won with him in February and I expect a more aggressive steer from McNair here. Drawing widest helps with the price. (8) I AMA ROCKET draws slightly better here, and he is another that should get better positioning leaving the gate this time; using. (2) SHADOW IN RED gets Drury back tonight and he drove him to a 1:51 1/5 win two starts back. He has upset potential tonight. (5) ACAPULCO SUNBURN closed well behind the favored winner last week and he figures to be part of the exotics again. Race 5: NW $14,750 L5 or $24,250 L10 AE: NW $100,000 LT (2) LETS TIE ONE ON raced well in defeat last week, he just couldn’t repel the strongest closer in the race late in the mile. Team Cullen has been running hot (Travis drove four winners here Monday night), and he gets the nod. (7) JABBERWOCKY fits better at this level and his speed will likely carry a long way. He would be no surprise. (6) REACTOR NOW A comes off a nice win one class lower and I could see this race setting up for him. He is another to consider for multi-race tickets. (3) POINTS NORTH dropped and crushed but I doubt he sees the front in this field. I’ll use him underneath this time. Race 6: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT - Pick 5 (8) KAPTAIN KARLOS was stuck behind a non-advancing rival that took a shot at the leader but was rebuffed last week. He couldn’t get to sharp winner (1) ALL BETS ON TEX, who used the first-over rover as a pick. I’ll give the former a try here looking for a price. The latter is in excellent form, but he might get a rougher trip starting from the rail here. (4) ODDS ON KICKOFF tripped out and won at this level two starts back then he went too fast on the lead last week. He could upset if he can work out the same trip he got in that penultimate race. (2) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA’s first race in a month was decent and he should be part of the exotics again. Race 7: 4YO and younger NW $15,000 LT - Pick 4 (7) MR ANDREYCHUK got a break when the leader drifted out 10 paths down the lane, but he was required to hold off (8) BRIGUS, who got a dream run up the inside. The former gets the call to repeat. (9) SAILORS SHADOW has been right there in four straight, and he should be in the money again here. (6) TRICKY MCWICKY often closes too late. He is a good one to use underneath. Race 8: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3 (7) STONE CARVER just took a new life’s mark from the 10-hole and if he repeats that race his rivals will be racing for 2nd here. (2) AMERICAN HISTORY roared home to win at this level last week in a strong effort. He is the one to fend off late here. (5) CAPITANO ITALIANO comes with his late rush every week and he should pass some of these to land in the tri. (9) BEYOND BETTER won as expected last week when given a perfect drive by Macdonald but this looks like a tougher spot and the widest post isn’t great for him; small share predicted. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW $8,200 L5 AE: OPT CLM $50,000 (8) ORDER ONE TO GO had no chance from where he was at the 3/4 pole last week. He moves in a couple of posts and this field has one less entrant. Those minor factors moving in his favor could add up to a win in this race that should have a decent flow. (6) MOMAS SON BYRNE takes a big drop here after getting a tough trip last week. He is a threat to lead all the way. (2) BEE TWO BEE was first up against Points North and that wasn’t going to work. I could see him sitting the pocket and scoring here. (1) TWIN B POWERBALL also exits the Points North race and he is in the mix. Race 10: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT (10) TARQUINUS HANOVER squandered a win when he drifted out at least 10 paths last week in the last 1/8th of a mile. Look for an equipment change tonight. (2) CHEDDAR DUHARAS flew late to get the job done and he will be right there if he can bring that same late speed tonight. (8) ARTSALIVE had a decent sophomore season, and he likely needed his seasonal bow at Flamboro last week. He can improve enough to be a factor. (6) SHREDDAR is fast but quirky. I see him taking a small share vs. these. (4) RJS SUPERFREAK raced better last week and he should be part of the High-5 here racing close up.
