He draws well and looks poised for a good effort this evening off that prep. (5) BETTORSEETHESHOW made his first lifetime start on 2/1 and turned in a solid second-place effort. He's back in action three weeks removed from that try and adds Lasix. He's a threat. (7) BEACHOFANERA was fourth in his most recent effort after scoring easily at Flamboro in his start prior to that. He can improve but will likely be racing for a share. (8) COLD CREEK PANTERA was fifth in his career debut and will have every chance to hit the ticket. Race 2:  5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,250 (OS $43,550) LIFETIME. (8) REGIL BUBB made a bobble off the gate in his most recent but recovered nicely to finish third. He was an easy winner in the start prior and has major bounce-back potential this evening. (5) WICKED PRINCE will return to racing action for the first time since 1-4. He flashed a pretty strong final quarter under some urging but looks good enough to compete here tonight. (1) BETTERDEALMEIN exits some good tries in the Snowshoe Series and should be able to work out a favorable trip here; he is a contender. (6) SMOKIN HOT DUDE scored in his first start for trainer Ben Wallace in his latest. He steps up in company but can hit the ticket. Race 3 : 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $8,500 LIFETIME. (3) WICKED TURNS shook loose late in his most recent and shot through to be third in that effort. It was an improved performance, and he could be inching closer to a trip to the winner's circle. (4) JIMMY HOOFFA just got picked off in his career debut in what was a strong effort. He can build off that try, draws better and is probably the one to beat. (7) FREE FLYING FREDDY will debut for the barn of Gregg McNair off a pair of so-so qualifiers. I'm interested to see what he can do here this evening. (8) STRONGMAN HANOVER is coming off a winning qualifier where he went gate-to-wire. He could be handled aggressively here, and that could end up being enough. Race 4: HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $15,000 OR LESS IN ONE OF LAST 3 STARTS. (2) KOLBY TWO STEP was never a factor in his most recent try in a sixth-place effort. He was bet down as the heavy chalk in his start before that and put forth an underwhelming try. He looks like he's sitting on a good effort this evening and gets top honors. (7) BOOMING ECONOMY rallied nicely lately to be second in his most recent try. He will be making his third start for new trainer Corey Giles and should be sitting on a good effort here, too. (8) BATTERUP HANOVER was conservatively handled in the step up in class but finished nicely to grab a share. He draws outside but has shown versatility in the past and faces a pretty wide-open group this evening. (1) NEEDABANKLOAN was never a factor in his most recent vs. a dominant rival; he's been sharp and should be able to get a piece. Race 5: NW $9,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $23,750 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (1) SERIOUSLY HANOVER will be making his first start since October after what was a solid qualifier. He was first- over and continued to gain in the stretch and should be tight enough for a competitive try this evening. (4) HUNGRY MAN was second at this level two starts back after an aggressively-handled approach. I'm expecting similar tactics this evening, and that makes him a threat because of it. (5) HP LIS SHADOW hasn't been much of a factor over his last few tries but is better than what he's shown. He should appreciate the company he keeps this evening and could improve because of it. (2) CODE CRACKER was an easy winner in his latest in a gate-to-wire score. He draws inside and should have every chance to hit the ticket. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $59,000 (OS $68,500) LIFETIME. (9) JK TOGETHER AGAIN was a private purchase and will make its Canadian debut for new trainer Meg Crone. He qualified well coming into this contest and looks ready to roll here at first asking. (6) LOOKINLIKEAMILLION flashed good late speed to be second in his most recent effort. He draws well and will be heard from late, but might have too much work to do to get the one above. (1) ON TIME DELIVERY was second a couple of weeks ago and seems to be trending in the right direction; he can get a piece. (8) HOLLYWOOD DEO was second at this level last time out; he draws outside but should be capable of hitting the ticket here. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Race 7: NW $15,750 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $25,000 LAST 10 STARTS. (10) JACK PANIC exits a good try in the Preferred where he had some good pace in amongst rivals. He draws the outermost post, and I'm hoping that inflates his value because of it. (6) AMERICAN HISTORY exits a solid qualifier vs. weaker company and will enter this start for new trainer Dave Menary. He draws well, picks up James MacDonald and should take a lot of support after making the transition to this barn. (1) CENTURY HEINEKEN drops out of a try in the Preferred and should appreciate this spot more as he enjoyed a victory in this class two starts ago. (7) REDWOOD HANOVER was a gate-to-wire winner in his latest and moves up in class here this evening; he can build off that effort, but we like him for a piece. Race 8:  NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $25,250) LIFETIME. AE: N/A $240 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 4 STARTS). (1)SETTHEWORLDONFIRE disappointed as the favorite in his most recent after getting locked in behind a tiring rival. He had pace when he shook loose but had too much work to do late. I'll give him the nod here. (6) VOLCANIC has kicked off his career by winning his first two starts. He draws well and should be well-placed off the gate. (4) ABOVEMYPAYGRADE got picked off late in what was a strong effort. He should be strongly in the mix off that try in here. (3) MATTS BANK grabbed a share in his most recent and draws well enough to stick around for a piece. Race 9:  PREFERRED (6) POWERTRAIN was handled aggressively off the car in his latest and got picked off by a pair of rivals in a hard-fought third-place effort. He will reunite with MacDonald here, who guided him to a comfortable score two starts back; top call. (5) POSEIDON SEELSTER just got picked off at the wire in what was a very game effort. He is versatile and has options in regards to how he chooses to race. (1) WHATCHULOOKIN AT was an even fifth in his latest but showed a bit more life at the end of his mile, pacing home in sub-27. He draws well and can be a big threat if at his best. (3) NO CONTROL is coming off a fifth-place effort in his most recent. He's been racing well at this level and can be right there with the right trip. Race 10: WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $80,250 (OS $116,000) LIFETIME. (3) IVY PARK has steadily improved over his last couple of starts and has paced the lane well in doing so. He hooks a class that is more to his liking, and he looks like he's sitting on a good effort this evening. (5) SARGEANT SLAUGHTER scored in this class last time out in a narrow victory. He draws well, should be activated off the switch early and will sit a good trip because of it. (6) R J RINGO is coming off a pair of fourth-place efforts but wasn't in good spots in either of them turning for home. He draws better and should be able to work out a better trip from here, if he so chooses. (1) OVERTHINKING left out for early positioning, then ended up stuck behind the pocket-sitter and didn't get a chance to shake loose until late. He showed pace when free and draws well enough to be aggressively handled yet again. Race 11  NW $25,000 IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) OR NOT AVERAGING $1,570 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) - **MANDATORY JACKPOT HI-5 PAYOUT** (5) BROOKDALE JOHNNY was locked in behind horses looking for room at this level two starts back and angled out when it was too late. He faced tougher company in his most recent try from post 10, and I'm willing to toss that effort out the window. Tonight, he is reunited with MacDonald, who guided him to a victory on 1-11, and this appears to be a good spot for the two of them to get their picture taken once again. (1) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER showed good wheels at the end of his mile in his most recent effort and looks to be rounding into form. He's a danger to bottom out this field if he's on his game. (3) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE got everything his own way in his most recent try when he went gate-to-wire in a winning effort. He draws well and should be involved early yet again. (6) NEPTUNE was second in his most recent try in what was an improved effort. He draws well, should be situated early and will have every chance to hit the ticket. (9) GENTLEONMYMIND was unable to get to the pace-setter in his latest despite a perfect trip. He drew outside tonight but should be live enough late to hit the ticket.
