Top Pick Stats: 64 - 207 / $331.30 (-$82.70) Best Bets: 12 - 19 / $37.00 (-$1.00) Spot Plays: 2 - 19 / $6.50 (-$31.50) Best Bet: POWERTRAIN (9TH) Spot Play: ONTOP RAINMAN (6TH) Early Pick 5: 2,4/1,2/2,3,9/1,5,7/3,4,6 = $21.60 Late Pick 5: 1,5,7/5,6/3,5,6/4,9/3,4,6 = $21.60 Early Pick 4: 1,5,7/3,4,6/1,5,7/5,6 = $10.80 Late Pick 4: 3,6/4,9/3,4,6/1,2,5,6 = $9.60 Race 1: 4YO and younger NW1 or $7,500 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (2) LOGAN BEHOLD had his win streak broken by a well-meant rival that was out a long way pressing first up and kept coming. He looks best here, and he should be able to control the pace again. (4) YANKEE CLOUT is obviously in easier here when you consider that he kicked in 26 4/5 in both Snowshoe series starts and could do no better than finish 5th. He is the other one that I’ll use in the early Pick 5. (6) ACEFORTYFOURAPOLLO just broke his maiden in a good effort but that was an easier spot. I’ll use him underneath here. (1) WATCH YOUR TONE gets McNair for a second drive and I can see him sneaking into the bottom of the exotics here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: NW $8,850 L5 or $15,000 L8 or NW6 LT AE: Starters for a purse of $11K last start (1) STORMALONG chased a class-dropping leader that was pacing a fast mile last week and this looks like a spot where he can control the pace. McNair sticks with him and so do I. (2) FLYINGEVENBETTOR N gets class and post relief and a positive driver change to Borth. He should go much better in this spot. (5) BACKSTREET GAMBLER is another class dropper that fits much better at this level and should improve tonight and land in the exotics. (10) THE GREEK FREAK gets Macdonald back, but he draws widest. I’ll use him on the bottom mostly due to the post draw. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW $18,750 LT (9) KYLES ART was in a bit too tough in the Snowshoe series. This is more his crowd, and he gets Macdonald back in the bike tonight. I think he gets an aggressive steer and notches a slight upset. (3) TRICKY MCWICKY was out of position, 10 lengths back in a 58 2/5 opening 1/2. He should be closer here starting from the inside and that gives him a decent chance. (2) DON’T FREAK OUT raced great to win last week, pacing first-over for most of the mile and prevailing. He is hard to leave off Pick 5 tickets. (7) TARQUINUS HANOVER should close for a share in this spot. Race 4: NW $14,000 L5 or $29,850 L8 or NW $115,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $70,000 - Pick 4 (7) AMERICAN HISTORY comes in off a sharp qualifier and lands in a spot where he could sweep past the leaders late in the mile. He will offer a big price with Spence in the bike; call to upset. (5) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE dropped and popped and he gets J Mac back now. He is another that will likely be coming on late in the mile; using. (1) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH couldn’t get there at 1 to 5 but he is sharp, and he could get a good trip from the rail here. He is another in with a shot. (4) JABBERWOCKY should flash speed again and stick around for a share. Race 5: NW $4,900 L5 or $11,500 L10   (4) RESPECT OUR FLAG was never winning from the 12-hole but I thought he did well to pass rivals to take a check. He should be closer early here and that gives him a chance to pounce on the leaders in the lane; top call. (3) VANILLA MALTED made a mid race move that often works at this track, but he might have been short after missing a week. He gets back on a 7-day rotation now and he is in the mix. (6) LETS TIE ONE ON sprung to life to lead all the way at Flamboro and he should be a speed threat here too, starting from the best post. (5) TAYLORS CREDIT blew up the board and keyed a huge High-5 payout, but he isn’t known for stringing wins together. I see him closing for a share this time. Race 6: 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT - Pick 5 (5) ONTOP RAINMAN had absolutely no chance the way the race played out last week through no fault of his or the driver. He got locked in tight and there was never a lane to pace through in the stretch. He finished his mile climbing over horses and I’ll stick with him. (7) LARCENY got an impossibly long trip last week and he contributed to keeping the choice pinned in because he didn’t back up. He makes sense in here and he should get a better trip; using. (1) SPORTY BOB faces tougher here but he is sharp and a threepeat isn’t out of the question for him tonight. (8) BETTOR B SIRIUS flew late to just miss last week. He should pass some rivals and take another share. Race 7: 5YO and younger NW2 or $39,750 LT I see two horses that chased Sporty Bob last time battling for the win here and I’ll give (5) ODDS ON KICKOFF the edge. He finished with pace and passed pocket sitter (6) COLD CREEK GUERERO who should once again flash speed in this spot. (2) HOLY JALAPENO flew late to pass both of the top two choices, but I prefer to use the two that should be in much better position throughout the mile. I’ll use this gelding underneath. (9) ARIZONA JACKSON should be better here dropping out of the Snowshoe series. He can close for a slice.  Race 8: CLM $50,000 - Pick 4 (3) I AMA ROCKET was live last week but he was one of four leavers and he had to wait for the dust settle then make his move to the front nearing the 1/2. He faced an immediate onslaught, then re-rallied in the stretch in a solid effort. (6) SOMEWHERENTUSCANY was another that was embroiled in that early battling, and he gets J Mac back. This duo teamed up for a win at this level two starts back and he should be right there tonight. (5) BROOKDALE MIKI made a big move in that race, and he almost held off the first-over challenger. He should contend right back here. (1) MASKEDMAN holds no edge as the morning line favorite. He is one I will let beat me. Race 9: PREFERRED 2 This race is interesting because the currently unbeatable Taurasi isn’t involved. (9) POWERTRAIN looked like his best self last week and when he is at the top of his game, he is tough to beat. I’ll call him to repeat. (4) COLD CREEK QUESO paced a 26-flat kicker and still didn’t come close to Taurasi. He can give the choice a race if he is aggressive leaving the gate this time and I believe he will get put into the race at the start; using. (1) SAULSBROOK VICTOR will likely take back and make a late charge here to take a share. (8) MOMAS SON BYRNE is sharp, and he should be in the exotics mix once again. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000 I thought (4) ORDER ONE TO GO was really good last week but trying to catch the favorites that got a 59 1/5 middle 1/2 was mission impossible. He will need an honest pace to chase here, and I can see this race producing quicker fractions. I’ll give him the nod. (6) DONTPOKETHEDRAGON has been a win machine and he will have to be caught as he shoots for his seventh straight win. (3) LYONS KING raced okay last week the pace was too strong and his rivals were too tough. He is in with a shot on the class drop tonight. (7) ST LADS BEAT IT raced tough in defeat when claimed. He was just outsprinted late. He is in the exotics mix here. Race 11: NW $8,850 L5 or $15,000 L8 or NW6 LT AE: Starters for a purse of $11K last start (1) ILIKEMEBETTOR A is in much easier here and he attracts Macdonald. He should improve sharply in this spot; top call. (6) DUPREE HANOVER is another dropper that should be much better in this spot and McNair will put him into the race; using. (2) STONE CARVER closed mildly into an accelerating late pace. He will likely get more aggressive in this spot, and he is in with a good chance. (5) BEACHIN LINDY is in excellent current form, and he is the other one that I’ll use in the late Pick 4. (4) AMERICAN CLASSIC exits a fast race for the class where he stalled first up. I can see him sitting and rallying for a share here.
