Race 1: 4YO and younger NW $15,500 LT **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5**

(3) PEETIE had plenty of pace to offer in the final 1/4 last week but he lacked room and was forced to switch paths several times before finally getting clearance late. He can win here if Roy puts him in the flow this time. (7) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER suplexed a field of maidens as the chalk last week and his good form makes him a contender here. (5) UNISON made a nice late move and produced a fast kicker racing over an off track. He is worth a look for the early Pick 5 here. (9) BRADY HANOVER's fast maiden win two starts back stamps him as a threat but he draws widest, and he needs a clean line. A conservative trip is likely in store for him tonight.

Race 2: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3

(3) REACTOR NOW A comes off a lifetime best win vs. a good field and he should be hard to beat here at a short price. (4) HAIL CHRISTIAN should improve vs. this group, and he figures to be an Exacta factor. (7) CODENAME CIGAR BOX will likely be coming from too far back, but he can pass a few of these late and land in the exotics. (8) BEACHIN LINDY is another closer that is worth a look for the bottom of the Tri or Super.

Race 3: CLM HDCP $50,000 to $60,000

(4) WOODMERE FENN is at the top of his game right now and he should get a decent setup for his late kick here. A threepeat looms. (5) MASKEDMAN jumps up in class, but he was claimed by leading trainer Moreau, and he figures to be a threat despite the rise; using. (3) BROOKDALE MIKI flew home to get the job done with McClure in the bike and that teamster sticks here. He is another in with a shot that is worth using in the early Pick 5. (8) LETS TIE ONE ON is a good one to use on the bottom of the exotics at a price.

Race 4: NW $15,000 in 2023 - Pick 4

This is a tough race to kick off the early Pick 4. (8) MR JOHN is in easier, and he could go down the road vs. these. I’ll give him the nod hoping that he blasts off the gate. (9) IM SPONGE WORTHY was 3rd to a horse that came right back to win vs. better on New Year’s Eve. This gelding is in with a chance vs. these despite drawing wide. (3) GIDDY UP MAX’s Ottawa form is decent and picking up Roy here won’t hurt. I wouldn’t be shocked if he popped at a price. (1) BRAVADO SEELSTER is worth a look for the exotics getting Macdonald in the bike tonight.

Race 5: NW $20,000 L5 or $30,050 L8 AE: NW10 or $100,000 LT

(10) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE drops and gets Macdonald back and at 15 to 1 in the morning line he is worth taking a stab with here despite drawing widest. He was a first up winner vs. similar four starts back. (6) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH is the other dropper in here and there is a good chance that he will get the pocket behind (4) JABBERWOCKY, who aired on a warm muggy night and was only a tick off his lifetime best last time. I’ll use the former on multis and the latter underneath in the Tri and Super. (3) DONTTOUCHMYTRUCK couldn’t get to Jabberwocky last time, but he held his form, and he adds Lasix now. He should get another share tonight.

Race 6: Winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT - Pick 5

(4) SPEAKER OF PEACE hit his best stride racing in the Valedictory series, and he took a new life’s mark winning the final. He fits okay vs. these, and I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (3) STORMALONG did all the work last week and was caught late by a rival that was flying. He is the one to catch and beat again. (5) NYTRO J was first up last week and that wasn’t his trip. I think he sits back and rallies for a share this time. (6) CONTROL THE GOLD was right there at this level last week. He’s hard to leave out of the exotics.

Race 7: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000

(5) NIGHTIME DANCER looks ready to roll based on his most recent qualifier and he is capable of big speed when he is sound and sharp. I’ll call him to knock off expected favorite (1) SHREDDAR, who looked vulnerable last week, but had no one coming as he paced home in 29. (3) BACK TO THE FUTURE is 1 for 17 but he has been right there in several recent starts and he should be part of the Tri here. (9) SPORTY BOB is capable of passing some of these late and he is worth a look for the bottom of the exotics at a price.

Race 8: NW $8,000 L5 or $19,050 L8 - Pick 4

(4) BACKSTREET GAMBLER dropped to this level and popped, and he gets another crack in the same class; call to repeat. (1) LEGION SEELSTER was raced aggressively to win last time he raced this low on 12/9 and he is the obvious threat to the choice; using. (2) RESPECT OUR FLAG is another that won last time he raced this low, but his typical style likely puts him behind the 8 ball here because the top two choices figure to get the jump on him. I’d demand a price. (3) THRILLING TIMES is sharp but he likely gets his win streak stopped here facing the three class droppers; small share predicted.

Race 9: PREFERRED

(1) TAURASI shoots for the threepeat here and he should be tough to beat considering how sharp he is now. Win machine (2) COVERED BRIDGE will likely lay closer to the choice this time being lined up beside him on the gate and he is the most likely upsetter in this field. (5) SAULSBROOK VICTOR likely sits and closes for another share in this spot. (6) LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE should go better here racing in a short field and I see him landing in the Super.

Race 10: NW $2,050 L3

(7) FABRIZIO N drops and likely pops facing a nondescript group at the lowest condition level. (4) SIP OF BOURBON raced decently at this level last time and he will likely show speed again and complete the Exacta. (2) FOREFATHER is capable of better than he has shown recently. I see him closing for a share now. (1) BOARDWALK JACK is the other dropper in here, but his last two starts don't inspire much confidence. A small share is likely for him if he stays flat.

Race 11: NW $4,000 L5 AE: NW1 L10

(2) P L OCTAVIUS should get better position from his inside post tonight and I see him getting up late for the win. (1) ROCKME ROLLME drops back to where he performs best, and he should be in contention throughout; using. (9) ROCKABILLY REBEL N fell just short to the favorite last week in a good effort, and you know McNair will put him in play from out there. He is another contender to consider for late Pick 4 tickets. (3) BETTORBEFLYIN got hammered at the windows and he crushed an easier field. I see him as a fringe player tonight. (6) HES SWIFT was decent in his first start back and he is worth using underneath at a price here.
