Race 4: NW $18,000 IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) OR NOT AVERAGING $1,580 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) - Pick 4 (3) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER squeaks into the $1,580/start condition by $220 and he gets to face his easiest competition since April. He will be a single for me here. (7) MAGICAL ARTHUR is also in easier here and he should get a good share racing close to the front most of the way. (5) BAYFIELD BEACH gets off the rail and he should get better position leaving the gate from post 5. He is in the exotics mix. (1) TORONTO will likely land in mid pack at the start, and I think he closes for a share. Race 5: 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $21,800) LIFETIME (6) SMOKIN HOT DUDE draws best after closing well in the Harvest Series final and he gets top billing in a spot where he is likely to get more aggressive. (3) WICKED PRINCE raced well in defeat in a fast mile for the class in 11/2 then took a break. I like that he qualified for this comeback race, and he is the other one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (9) PURELY WICKED was 2nd twice at long odds and he has shown that he can overcome the wide post. He is worth using underneath. I’m not sure what makes (1) WICKED DANCER morning line choice here. A two-year-old taking on nine sophomores and starting from the rail makes him a fade for me. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,400 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) - Pick 5 (8) FIRSTOFANERA is the only dropper in this field, and I’ll take a price stab hoping the class relief wakes her up. (1) MENDING FENCES made several early moves last week in a race that featured lots of action. She could do here is she gets an easier trip; using. (4) SILENT CROSSING got cooked early in a race where several wanted the front. She should get an easier trip tonight and take a share. (2) ONE LAST BET passed some winded rivals to take a slice last week. She can do the same here. Race 7: NW $18,700 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME (7) JABBERWOCKY is sure to blast to the front tonight on the class drop and say: come get me. Beat him to greet the cashier. (3) AMERICAN HISTORY raced well on the drop to this level last week after getting buried the week before. I could see him sitting in the choice’s pocket and pouncing late here. (2) JACK PANIC has been sharp for several weeks and he should be good for another share in this spot. (4) WHATCHULOOKIN AT crushed a much easier field last week. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE - Pick 5 (5) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER just took care of business at this level from the 8 hole, and he is likely to repeat starting from a better post tonight. (4) PREMIER FIRST STAR makes his fourth start back and he was a bit better last time; price look for the multis. (1) MCPLEASANT raced only evenly when 5th to the choice but he gets Macdonald back now and that makes him a threat. He could get over bet, though. Your call. Race 9: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED - Pick 4 (3) SILVER LABEL may have been shown racetrack too late last week. I think she gets a more aggressive drive and makes amends here. (6) PROHIBITION LEGAL, stablemate to the choice, took a shuffle last week after making front early then she lacked room early in the stretch. She could turn the tables in this short field. (1) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN made the right move at the right time to score the upset, but price is gone now probably. I’ll use her underneath tonight. (2) TELLS ON A ROLL was on a roll earlier in the year, but she hasn’t won in a while, and she likely takes a small share tonight. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,050 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW 6 RACES OR $100,000 LIFE. AE: 3YR OLDS NW $40,000 IN 2024 (3) AVYANNA got a needed tightener in vs. better now she drops to a spot where she will likely be more aggressive. She is capable vs. these, and she gets top billing. (8) RESILIENCE got picked off by a good filly last week and she is the one to catch again. (4) SHOOT THE WHISKEY has won 25% of he starts this year, and she comes out of some good races at Flamboro. She is another possibility for late multi-race tickets. (1) HOW MUCH gets Macdonald tonight and she is obviously a threat, but she could get over bet on the driver change. I’ll play to beat her. (3) HP LIS SHADOW was best of the rest when 2nd to a blowout winner and he should be one of the main threats here; using. (6) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA has been first up in two straight miles now he gets off the rail and draws best. He should get a different trip this time and that gives him a chance. (4) LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE shoots for the threepeat and he is another possibility in a race full of them. Race 12: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS OPT. CLM. $40,000 (3) BRIGHTSIDE MASEO raced well in the Harvest Series, and he gets in here a couple of thousand dollars under the earnings condition limit; top call. (4) MANHAWK gets off the rail and that is likely a key for him. He will probably sit much closer to the front tonight and that makes him a threat. (8) ALLSTARWATUACALLIT just wins, and he will likely get overlooked again tonight; price look for the Pick 4. (2) WILD DOC HOLLIDAY will likely sit a trip and land another small share in this spot.
