Top Pick Stats: 33 - 117 / $163.40 (-$70.60) Best Bets: 5 - 11 / $20.10 (-$1.90) Spot Plays: 3 - 11 / $23.00 ($1.00) Best Bet: CAPTAIN CONNOR (6TH) Spot Play: WANNABEABIGSTAR (10TH) Early Pick 5: 6,8/3,4,6/1,5/1,4,7/8,9 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 1/1,2,4/3,6,7/2,4/1,5,7 = $10.80 Pick 6: 1,4,7/8,9/1/1,2,4/3,6,7/2,4 = $21.60 Early Pick 4: 1,5/1,4,7/8,9/1 = $2.40 Late Pick 4: 3,6,7/2,4/1,5,7/6,7 = $7.20 Race 1: FILLIES & MARES, NW $8,000 LAST 5 OR $22,750 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $38,000 IN 2024-25 **$75,000 Pick 5** (8) CENTURY JAMILA takes a big drop, and she gets McNair for a return drive, and she is a good bet to go right down the road to kick off the Pick 5. (6) WESTERN WISH dropped and popped two starts back then drew poorly when forced to jump up a couple of levels. She drops now and draws best. I could see her riding in the choice’s pocket and pouncing late and she is the other one that I’ll use in the Pick 5. (4) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL tried the front last week, and it didn’t work out. She races better off a helmet and she will likely stalk and close for a share tonight. (7) COZ IM SPECIAL is interesting returning from the U.S., but she has missed four weeks. I’ll tab her for next week. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME $15K Lexington buy (3) BET I WILL, 1/2 to $403K earner Passa Brille Beach (1:49 3/5 M.), responded to urging to finish with interest along the pylons in his lone qualifier. There are no standouts in here and I’ll give him the edge at first asking. (6) HASSELHOFF raced okay first up while finishing with broken equipment on a night where the races were called off after three dashes due to track conditions. He should be a player here starting from the best post; using. (4) CONTROLTHEOUTCOME paced a 28 third 1/4 while winning his qualifier on 1/17 and he is another that could do here that is worth using in the Pick 5. (5) LUNAS LEGACY can improve enough in this second start to sneak into the exotics. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER NW OF 2 RACES OR $23,500 (ON SIRED $37,250) LIFETIME - Pick 4 (1) HOLLYWOOD DEO tried to close from far back in the Snowshoe series and he did well to get a check. Facing easier and drawing better, he is the clear top pick tonight. (5) BLAZING CRUSIER keeps improving and he should be the main danger in what looks like a two-horse race; using. (3) ON TIME DELIVERY gets on a 7-day rotation this week and he should be a factor again, but I prefer to use him underneath. (9) SPINDOCTOR HANOVER has been racing decently and he looks next best. He can get a piece of this despite starting from the widest post. Race 4: NW $8,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,170 P/S IN 2024-25. AE: NW OF A RACE LAST 10 STARTS - Pick 6 (1) MAJOR FERNCO N looked good motoring up late to score the upset two weeks ago, then his race last week was canceled. He is sure to offer another good price stepping up in class tonight; call to upset. (4) REDWOOD HANOVER is the fastest horse in the race, and he comes off a rest and a powerful qualifier win. He figures to be right there tonight. (7) BEE TWO BEE ships west in very sharp form and he is no stranger to Mohawk Park. He is worth a look going for Team Cullen tonight. (6) WHEELS ON FIRE races well at this class but he has only won two of his last 34 starts. He fits well vs. these but he could get over bet; your call. Race 5: NW $18,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $27,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $42,000 IN 2024-25 (8) SAULSBROOK VICTOR dropped and crushed, and he gets the call to repeat facing similar tonight. (9) CODENAME CIGAR BOX should improve on the drop here, and I think he leaves much faster to get positioned near the front; using. (6) THE GREEK FREAK drops and draws best but he is in tough facing the choice. I’ll use him underneath in this spot. (1) HP LIS SHADOW is in solid form, fits well at this level, and he should be in the exotics mix again. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $8,500 LIFETIME - Pick 5 $95K Lexington buy (1) CAPTAIN CONNOR showed high speed in the final 1/4 of his lone qualifier and he lands in a good spot for this debut; top call. (9) DIAMOND RYDER is 0 for 15, but I like the late move he made in his last start after missing close to three weeks. His start last week was canceled. He is worth using here at what should be a big price. (5) MATTS BANK got a start in with the trainer driving now he gets catch driver Henry in the bike. Sharp improvement is likely tonight. (4) WILLIE B has shown improvement recently and he figures to be part of the exotics here racing from close range.   Race 7: NW $4,000 LAST 5 OR $15,000 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,805 P/S IN 2024-25 (1) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B rallied from last in his most recent start and he was moving well when the wire hit. He should be closer to the front early here leaving from a better post and I’ll take a price stab with him facing some class droppers. (2) SPEAKER OF PEACE moves inside on the class drop, and he will likely get put into action at the start. I’m not sure if there is any value here with him being the morning line choice, however. (4) I AMA ROCKET had a good record last year and he drops for this second start over the track and draws well. He could surprise tonight. (7) NEPTUNE N was bought privately by The Stable and he has been in Canada for several months. I’ll watch him once, but I can see him taking a share in this local debut. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME - Pick 4 (3) TRICKY MCWICKY was put into play last time but the trip was too long. He gets the first time McNair angle in this 33rd start and I’ll take a price stab with him in what looks like a wide-open race. (7) BEACH CRUISER crushed NW2 and turned his form around and he is a threat to repeat starting from the best post. (6) JMR SPEAK AWAY draws best after rallying from far back for 2nd. He should get positioned closer to the front this time and that gives him a chance. (2) SOUTHWIND INFUSION raced decently at this level in two straight, and he can be an exotics factor again tonight. Race 9: PREFERRED (4) NO CONTROL should be sitting on a win in this third start back and he gets the nod over (2) PACINO HANOVER who shaded him on the wire last time. The latter was required to wait then angle widest in the lane and he made up a lot of ground in a hurry to get the job done. The barn has been running hot and he is hard to discount. (3) POSEIDON SEELSTER won at this level on 1/4 and he will likely be a threat here again racing from close range, but I prefer to use him underneath. (9) JACK PANIC is a hard trier that comes to play every week. He figures to be part of the exotics again. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: WINNERS OF 3 BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 RACES OR $80,000 (OS $115,000) LIFETIME (1) WANNABEABIGSTAR was outstanding in several races at Fraser Downs. You want to see a horse prevail in a race it had no business winning based on trip? Check out this one’s replay from 11/28 in a $100K stakes final. I know he has a stale date, but he goes for Team Cullen and I’ll call him to win on blind faith based on what I saw from him racing in the west. (7) LAMBORGHINI LOU is in easier here in this second start off the claim. He should go much better vs. these; using. (5) R J RINGO is the hot horse, winning two in a row deploying polar opposite racing styles. He is sharp and dangerous. (2) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER has been finishing 3rd or 4th for several weeks in a row. I’ll use him underneath. Race 11: NW $25,000 IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) OR NOT AVERAGING $1,550 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) (7) WIND BLOWN draws okay here in quest of a threepeat and he gets the nod to get that job done. (6) BATTERUP HANOVER shows a winning 1:51 3/5 mile three starts back and he should be dangerous with McNair taking the reins tonight. (1) BROOKDALE JOHNNY was a winner with J Mac in the bike in his third start racing out of the Beaton barn. He is a threat to repeat here with Henry in the bike. (2) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE finished 3rd to the choice last time when he drew inside, and he is a good one for the bottom of the exotics again tonight. (10) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER raced much better last week than he did in his two previous starts, but he draws worse now. A small share is likely his ceiling.
