(10) BETTOR BE EARLY gets Macdonald in the bike, but a minor award is likely his ceiling starting from the widest post this time. AE: N/A $3,850 P/S IN 2024 (5) SO MUCH MORE was put into play leaving the gate last week and that was key. She should be blasting again from a good post here and she gets the call to repeat. (1) LEE LOO continues to race well, and she can get a good following trip here racing near the front; Exacta factor. (2) CAVIAR N CRACKERS drops, and she will likely show more early zip vs. these, but I prefer to use her underneath in this spot. (4) ANGOSTURA HANOVER has been producing a strong late kick. She should get a piece of this passing some rivals late. Race 3: NW $14,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME. AE: MARES - Pick 4 (2) MYULTIMATE SNOWY A had a good local debut last week and I imagine he will get a more aggressive steer now that he is acclimated; top call. (3) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN is in against the boys here, but she is capable of contending and looks like a good fit in this spot. She would be no surprise here. (4) HUNTRESS is another one exiting the Mares Preferred and she should be in the exotics mix. (1) UNCLE SHANK A will likely show speed from the rail. He should stick around for a share. Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER CLAIMING HANDICAP $40,000 TO $50,000 - Pick 6 (3) SERGEANT SLAUGHTER outdraws main rival (9) LAMBORGHINI LOU this time and I’ll call the former to turn the tables. The latter is 2 for 2 with Borth driving and he should get decent position early again. He will be the one to fend off late. (1) MCPLEASANT closed with a big rush last week and Macdonald will get him there one of these weeks; maybe tonight? (2) ULYSSES comes off a win, but I prefer to use him underneath vs. this group. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $8,950 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,675 P/S IN 2024. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $2,175 LAST 3 STARTS. (7) BLUE PACIFIC showed a bit of late zip in a race she likely needed after missing two months. She gets Macdonald now and top billing on the class drop. (2) HES EXPRESS will likely get another covered trip tonight and I could see her prevailing if she gets racing room early enough. (1) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL drops back down, and she can be a late threat vs. these. She is worth a look at 15 to 1 in the morning line. (4) WESTERN WISH fits decently at this level and she was raced aggressively last week to take a share. She should be in the exotics mix again. (8) AYANNA will likely take back and pass some rivals late in this spot. She can be part of the Super. Race 6: HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $15,000 OR LESS IN 1 OF LAST 3 STARTS - Pick 5 (4) SOUTHSIDE EDDY crushed in two straight, and he looks good to notch the threepeat facing similar tonight. (5) CODE CRACKER was no match for the choice last week, and he will likely face a similar fate here, but he can be an Exacta factor again. (2) ALL BETS ON TEX should be better tonight getting post relief. I’ll toss him in the Tri. (1) IVY PARK was first-over racing in the snow on Monday and he faltered. I think he sits and rallies this time; using underneath. Race 7: NW $5,200 LAST 5 OR $9,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,700 PER START IN 2024 (8) BETTERHAVEMYMONEY will smoke this group if he is 85% of what he once was. The two winning qualifiers signal readiness and I’ll side with him expecting an aggressive steer. (1) ROCKIN N TALKIN and (2) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA finished 1-2 racing in the snow here on Monday. Either is capable if the choice doesn’t deliver and I’ll use them on multi-race tickets. (4) CAPITANO ITALIANO can close for a small slice in this spot. Race 8: 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME - Pick 4 (1) HOLLYWOOD DEO showed he has a nose for the wire last week and he gets the call to notch the threepeat and keep his record unblemished. I’m not sure what (3) HAKA TIMATANGA beat last time at Rideau Carlton, but you don’t often see 20+ length wins in pari-mutuel races. That was a very sharp mile raced over a good track with a two second variant. He gets Roy now and he is the other one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (4) STEELWHEEL HANOVER converted off a covered trip last week. I prefer to use him underneath tonight. (5) BOOTS was better last time, and he should be in the mix racing from close range. Race 9: NW $30,250 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $100,000 (2) FORTIFY looks best here on the drop from the top class and he should prevail racing on or near the front throughout. He will be a single for me. (4) POSEIDON SEELSTER finished just behind the choice last time. He is another that should be better on the drop; Exacta factor. (7) SAULSBROOK VICTOR and (3) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH also drop out of the same race and will likely be factors for the Tri and Super but unlikely to threaten the choice. AE: NOT AVERAGING $2.400 PER START IN 2024 (2) CODENAME CIGAR BOX was a game winner here on Monday night and he gets the call to repeat returning quickly. (4) SOMETIME SOMEWHERE drops to a spot where Henry should get more aggressive with him and he is the horse to beat. He’s hard to leave off late multi-race tickets. (5) LEGION SEELSTER is another dropper that figures to be better in this spot; price look for the multis. (7) STONE CARVER fits better at this level and he is yet another possibility for multi-race tickets in a race with a few options. Race 11: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: NOT AVERAGING $900 PER START IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS (6) CALL ME IT showed speed for the first time in a long time racing in the snow on Monday here now he draws best. He might work out a good trip leaving from the best post, and he is worth a price stab. (4) MR IBIZA N finished ahead of the choice in the same race, and he is another that should get position leaving the gate. He could do in this spot. (7) BEACHIN LINDY is one of the best closers in this race and he faces some rivals that could be backing up late in this mile. He is another to consider for the late Pick 4. (10) RILKOFF can pass horses in the back half, and he could provide some value in the exotics here at a big price. (2) CONTROL HEAVEN popped and stopped on Monday. He is one I can’t back as a morning line favorite.
