Top Pick Stats: 602 - 1793 / $3,281.00 (-$305.00) Best Bets: 85 - 164 / $270.10 (-$57.90) Spot Plays: 40 - 161 / $347.30 (+$25.30) Best Bet: BOOTS (1ST) Spot Play: RUSTYS BETT (7TH) Early Pick 5: 8/2,3,4/1,5,6/1,8/1,4,9,10 = $14.40 Late Pick 5: 6/3,8/1,3/3,5,8/1,4,6 = $7.20 Early Pick 4: 1,8/1,4,9,10/6/3,8 = $3.20 Late Pick 4: 1,3/3,5,8/1,4,6/1,4 = $7.20 Race 1: 4YO and younger NW $17,850 (ON SIRED $20,750) LIFETIME **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (8) BOOTS was a bit one paced until late in the mile last week where he scooted up the pylons and almost got up. He can be sharper in this second start over the track, and he gets Macdonald in the bike here. (3) G A SPEED EXPERT ships in from Ottawa in tremendous form and he will probably be he one to catch; using. (4) WORLD REVIVAL raced well several weeks in a row in London, and I see him passing some rivals late in the mile and landing in the Tri. (5) ALWAYS B MELMAN stole slow fractions and won as he pleased last week. I don’t see him getting the same trip here. I’ll use him on the bottom. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: HARVEST SERIES FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $30,000 IN 2024 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2024. NO ALLOWANCES (3) MAJOR BANK races better off a helmet and he should offer a good price here coming off a failed first up try last week; call to upset. (4) MARKET BANKER exploded off cover in a strong winning effort and he is the one to fear here. (2) R NO MERCY can last longer on the engine tonight getting on a seven-day cycle. He is the third one that I’ll use in the Pick 5. (5) STONY BURKE raced decently in defeat last week, but he will likely get over bet with Macdonald in the bike here. I’ll play to beat him out of the Pick 5. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: NW $8,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $22,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,850 P/S IN 2024. AE: NW $22,500 IN 2024. (1) PACINO HANOVER was used hard early to make front, then he let one go, then had to alter course in deep stretch when there was no clear path up the pylons. That was a solid effort, and he gets the nod here. (6) ENAVANT and (5) CONTROL HEAVEN both drop out of the same race where they finished close to each other and either can win here with the right trip. Consider both for the Pick 5. (9) ARTIES IDEAL will likely close for a share on the class drop. Race 4: NW $4,375 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $9,950 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,660 P/S IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) - Pick 4 (1) LETS GO JUDE produced a 27 2/5 kicker on Monday night but that was in futile chase of a two-move winner. He steps up now and his price should be much better. I’ll stick with him. (8) LARCENY has been facing much tougher in his past five starts and he should improve by default on the class drop tonight; using. (2) HESINCONTROL is in form, and he will come with his typical good closing effort. He can win if everything shakes out right. (3) WOODMERE FENN will be passing rivals late again and likely finish in the bottom of the exotics. Race 5: NW $16,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW 7 RACES LIFETIME. Tough race here with several live options. I’ll side with fresh claim (1) TYGA HANOVER, who has been sharp for several weeks. (9) KOLBY TWO STEP comes in off paired 1:50 1/5 miles and he is an obvious threat despite drawing wide; using. (4) WRITE ME A ROSE got started up too late last week as the chalk. Perhaps he will get better position this time getting off the rail post. He is another in with a shot. (10) WHICHWAYTOTHEBEACH drops for this return, and he was Jamieson’s choice over three others (including the choice). He is capable vs. these but the obvious barrier is his post. I’d demand a price. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. (HANDICAPPED BY MONEY WON LAST 5 STARTS) - Pick 5 (6) SILVER LABEL had missed three weeks prior to last week’s start, and she was driven accordingly. She paced a 54-fat back 1/2 which should set her up perfectly for a more aggressive try tonight. I’ll give her the nod to turn the tables on (7) SYLVIA HANOVER, who is the obvious one to beat. (5) PROHIBITION LEGAL is another one that should be sharper tonight as she makes her second start back, but I prefer to use her underneath in this spot. (2) TELLS ON A ROLL is always around the money and she will likely take anther share off a following trip racing near the front. Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS OPT. CLM. $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (8) RUSTYS BETT couldn’t be going any better right now and he showed in his last start that an outside post doesn’t pose an issue for him. A threepeat looms. (3) RISE N GRIND raced okay from post 10 in his first start off the Auciello claim now he draws much better and he should be the main threat. (7) MANHAWK jogged in what was essentially a two-horse race last week. This is a tougher spot and I’ll use hi underneath. (5) BET THE BB was decent last week and he can take another share vs. these. Race 8: HARVEST SERIES FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $30,000 IN 2024 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2024. NO ALLOWANCES - Pick 4 (3) LIKE A GLOVE has finished 2nd twice to (1) BRUDON, who will likely be the heavy favorite to take this final. I think there is a good chance that the former will be riding in the latter’s pocket turning for home and that gives him a shot to notch the upset. (2) MCWICKED TIME should be much closer to the front tonight with his better draw, and he can land in the money this time. (5) BRIGHTSIDE MASEO is another that gets a much better draw that figures to be part of the exotics. Race 9: NW $35,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: N/A $5,640 P/S IN 2023-2024 This conditioned race is basically a Preferred with the currently unbeatable Ervin Hanover written out of it. (3) FORTIFY passed horses in a 26-flat final 1/4 last week and he gets the nod here with Ervin gone. (5) TAURASI was no match in crunch time last week, but he would have a better chance of leading all the way vs. these if that was the strategy that McNair chose to deploy; using. (8) JABBERWOCKY comes off two solid efforts and he could trip out here if Henry blasts off the gate with him. He is another possibility for late multi-race tickets. (4) SAULSBROOK VICTOR will likely blast for position and stick around for a share. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $72,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS OPT. CLM. $60,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE (1) LAMBORGHINI LOU produced an impressive late kick to get the job done last week and the step up tonight doesn’t look that tough. I think Macdonald finds him the winning trip. (6) A CLASS YANKEE is razor sharp and he comes with a big late rush every week. He is an obvious threat starting from the best post. (4) GANDALF THE BAY comes off two sharp efforts and he could get a good trip racing close to the front tonight; using. (3) OVERTHINKING took quite a bit of action last week, but he closed too late. I see more of the same for him here. Race 11: HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $15,000 OR LESS IN ONE OF LAST 4 STARTS. (W/O $12,000 LAST 5 STARTS N/E) (4) LEGION SEELSTER dropped and popped in a good effort and racing for that $15K purse qualified him for the condition of this race; call to repeat. (1) SAULSBROOK IAN was live in the pocket last week, but he didn’t get room until it was too late. This race will likely come down to these top two choices. (8) ROCK AND TWIST raced well in defeat to the choice but now he draws worse. I’ll use him underneath. (6) TORONTO goes from the worst post to the best starting slot, and he should be part of the exotics. (3) SPEAKER OF PEACE can sit a trip and sneak into the exotics at a price in this spot.
