Top Pick Stats: 216/621 = -$52.40 Best Bets: 15/58 = –$12.20; Spot Plays: 17/58 = +$4.60 Best Bet: UNCLE SHANK A (RACE 11) Spot Play: JIMS RISING SON (RACE 1) Early Pick 5: 4/1,2,6/2/3,4,6/3,4,5 Late Pick 5: 1,3/7/4/1,4/2,3,6,9 Race 1: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. (4) JIMS RISING SON finished with good late pace in his first start over the big track. He should be even better in his second going over the bigger oval and is one I’ll back with confidence in this spot. (3) LOU WHO has rallied nicely over his last two tries and has picked up good pieces. He struggles to get involved early and that puts him up against it; contender. (8) FREIGHT DAYS AWEEK wasn’t a factor in the Harvest Series and finds himself in a cozier spot to be competitive here. He draws outside and can rally for a good piece. (2) LATE FOR COFFEE will have every chance to grab a share here. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $86,250 LIFETIME. AE: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER OPT. CLM. $60,000. (2) STEAMBOAT SPRINGS finished 3rd in his first start for new trainer Dave Menary. He should be even better in start number two and has the talent and speed to compete with this group; top call. (1) BRUNO NO NO NO is starting to build some confidence after putting together a slew of very consistent efforts. He’s likely the one to beat here. (6) MAGICAL BET was a weather scr in his most recent but was one that I pegged as a contender. He draws well and can be a threat with the right trip; using. (3) RIPASSO continues to finish up real well at the end of his miles, but doesn’t seem to want to go by the last horse. He’ll be racing for a piece here. Race 3: 2 & 3 YEAR OLDS NW $15,000 (ON SIRED $18,750) LIFETIME. (2) PA SALT will get to race at this same level where he was a comfortable winner last time out. He’s tough to go against. (1) LYONS PAPI ROCK was perfectly handled in a winning effort in his latest; he is the biggest threat to the choice. (7) JOSIES JOULES made a miscue off the car in his most recent try and was basically out of contention. He can bounce back if he stays at it and can close for a share. (4) STONEBRIDGE IMPISH gets post relief here and should be able to stick around for a share. Race 4: HORSES & GELDINGS STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN LAST 4 STARTS. (4) MR IBIZA N is coming off an easy score in his latest and has the class and ability to double up vs. this group. He’s sharp and can be tough to beat if he replicates a similar effort. (6) GINGER TREE FINNY will make his return to Ontario after racing in Manitoba over his last few tries. He’s been razor sharp racing at The Loop and exits a good-looking qualifying effort ahead of this contest; using. (3) CONTROL THE POWER was a strong 2nd in his latest at this level and is a contender in this spot. (8) ODDS ON CAPITALISM hasn’t looked comfortable over his last few efforts but is one that has the speed and back class to take down this group if it shows up. Race 5: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $6,500 LAST 8 STARTS. (3) LIVINTHEBEACHLIFE takes a dip down the class ladder and should ever every opportunity to capitalize at this level. (5) STONE CARVER is coming off a solid qualifying effort vs. some classy foes and is one that can put forth a good showing off that prep. (4) LEGION SEELSTER was up against it with an outside draw in his latest. He has post relief and can grab a better piece. (7) BET THE BB has been picking up shares over his last few tries and should have every chance to continue that trend in this spot. Race 6: HARVEST SERIES FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS, NW $30,000 IN 2025 AS OF SEPTEMBER 30TH 2025. (1) JAYPORT CASH is coming off a convincing score in his latest and could be coming into this final as the one to beat. His efforts have been even sharper since adding Lasix and I’ll give him the nod to take down this Final. (3) TRIX UP MY SLEEVE has been sharp in his first year of racing and has been a great pairing with driver Scott Young; he’s a contender. (2) GOAL DIGGER made a miscue in a good spot last time out, forcing him to fall short. He’s talented but he is bumpy and might be hard to trust at a short number. (6) SAPPHIRE STEVE has been sharp over his last few tries and will have every opportunity to grab a good share. Race 7: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $19,250 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (7) COLD CREEK QUESO has been competing in the Open over his last few tries and has raced very well in those efforts despite not hitting the board. I’ll give him the clear nod in this spot as he gets major class relief. (6) ARBITRAGE HANOVER has raced well in defeats over his last two and has picked up good shares in the process. He draws well and should be aggressively handled. (3) BEYOND BETTER raced in the Open and was a non-factor in that spike in class, as expected. He’ll be heard from late in what is obviously a better spot. (2) LAMBORGHINI LOU draws better here and can close for a share. Race 8: HARVEST SERIES FINAL: ONTARIO SIRED 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS (4) FIGMENT is coming off five-straight victories and is clearly the one to beat in this Harvest Series Final. (3) NATIONAL TIER has the speed and ability to be competitive here, but also has plenty of quirks, which has caused him to make miscues in the most inopportune moments. He will be paired with James MacDonald here and provides some intrigue. (10) CENTURY LUCIFER disappointed as the choice in his latest and draws worse than he did in that effort. He picks up a new pilot today and he, too, is intriguing despite the outside draw. (2) STRONGMAN HANOVER is coming off a tripped out victory in his latest. He draws inside and can get a cozy steer again; using underneath. Race 9: OPEN (1) TAURASI is coming off a sharp qualifying effort as he makes his first pari-mutuel start since October. Chris Matthews was aboard that prep and now his regular pilot Doug McNair will be back in the sulky, in what I hope will be a winning trip; top call. (4) REMEMBER THE ALAMO is coming off back-to-back victories and has a better date than his biggest contenders. He has the fitness edge and could be tough to haul down. (5) BRUE HANOVER will make his first pari-mutuel start since August and is coming off a pair of qualifying preps. He is obviously a contender if he’s at his best, but I’ll take a wait and see approach tonight. (3) CAPTAIN FEAR NOT can close for a share vs. this group. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,250 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (9) LYONS DUKEY is coming off a miscue in his latest when he put in steps at the head of the lane in what potentially looked like a winning spot. The breaks are a concern, but the gamble he stays pacing might be worth it from a value standpoint, especially with an outside draw to work with. (2) RBSTENACIOUS T disappointed as the chalk last time out to be 3rd. He is a contender. (6) DANCE CAPTAIN draws well and has been consistent; using. (3) SUMMIT SEELSTER debuts for the new connections and provides some intrigue. Race 11: NW $6,700 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $15,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $55,000 IN 2025. (7) UNCLE SHANK A was confidently handled in his latest when JMac pocket-popped on the 1/9 choice before the final turn. He was game during a stretch drive but was repelled by the choice in a runner-up effort. I’ll give him top honors here.
