Late Pick-5: 3,5,6/2,7,8/1,4,7/1,2/7 $10.80
Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $33,000 (OS $41,250) LIFETIME.
(2) RBSTENACIOUS T gets a drop in class after holding his own in the Valedictory series. He has torched some money in recent weeks, but will be tough to catch if he brings his best. (8) JOHN HILL ran off a string of wins just before the calendar flipped to 2026, and was a strong second last week from post seven. The draw clearly isn’t an issue. He should be a main contender. (4) TWIN B ALLIANCE showed what he was capable of last week when drawing away and breaking his maiden. He steps up, but can get a piece.

Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.
I severely underrated (4) HIGHLANDBEACHLOVER after his sharp close two starts ago. He made sure to let me know about it last week when drawing away. He fits here, and shouldn’t be too far back. (2) SHANES DREAM looked really good last week when tracking down longtime leader Wicked Express. He races off the claim this week and interestingly got the nod from Doug McNair. (5) HF PANS SHADOW grinded out yet another win last time and has won four of his last five starts. He is extremely logical in this spot.
Race 3: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(10) MANDESTINY tried to make two moves in his first start back. Look for him to be tighter tonight despite working from the high draw. (8) LOOKUP AT THE SKY only raced for purse money last week but looked solid doing so. Following a live helmet makes him dangerous. (3) LOU KNOWS is slowly improving, and should have another chance to hit the board tonight.
Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $15,000 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $15,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E) AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: NW 2 RACES IN 2025.
(5) MISS DUTTON qualified well after a month off. Her two previous starts against upper level competition can be excused because of bad posts. She could look to wire this field. (4) SUPERIOR DELIGHT stepped up to this level just fine last week, continuing her streak of strong finishes. Her gate speed should allow her to sit another good trip. (8) ONLYTHEGOODDIYOUNG has been put in play more recently, which allows her sustained move to actually make an impact. I like her chances on the drop in class.
Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $21,750 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: NW $120,000 LIFETIME.
(5) GLENBORO is usually a threat to trip out if she can get away in decent order. She came up short last week, but finds a different group tonight. (3) UTOPIA BLUE CHIP has some back class and could add value if McClure is able to get more out of her. (2) AVYANNA gets another drop in class and is looking for a wakeup call. If she gets away in decent order, she should be a contender.
Race 6: NW $13,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $26,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NW $110,000 LIFETIME.
(3) BRUNO NO NO NO looked very good last week when leading the field for a majority of the mile, and sprinting home better than anyone. It was only a matter of time before he broke through at this upper level. I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (5) MIRACULOUS DESBI N was not at his best last week. Once he cleared to the lead, it was expected that he would win, but he gave it up rather easily. I’m curious how he rebounds. (6) A CLASS YANKEE capitalized when the leaders started to falter, and ended up only missing by half a length at a huge price. I’m unsure what tactics he’ll try this week, but he can get into the race with any trip.
Race 7: FILLIES & MARES OPEN 2.
(8) MS QUICK SAND has stayed sharp when stepping up the class ladder. I thought she was a good second last week, and if put in play tonight, she could continue her form. (2) SO MUCH MORE has come up short in two straight efforts, but it isn’t for a lack of trying. The now 10 year old continues to have a ton of heart. (7) TELLS ON A ROLL got a confidence boosting win last week. She should be another who uses early gate speed. I would make sure to use her on multi-leg tickets.
Race 8: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $1,840 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $11,000 LAST 2 STARTS.
(4) TRICKY MCWICKY was unleashed with an early move to the front, and ended up keeping his advantage the entire way. That was the best he’s looked in a long time. (7) ODDS ON CAPITALISM got a pure tightener under his belt last week after a month off. He might need one or two more before he is back to top form, but I’ll take my chances. (1) HOWMAC VICTOR is one of a few horses who can continue to grind after making multiple moves. The post switch should help him tonight.
Race 9: OPEN.
(2) BRUE HANOVER was able to just get up for the win after following behind Taurasi on the outside. I’ll give him the nod to repeat. (1) ITS SATURDAY NIGHT is the sharp stablemate of Brue Hanover who nearly swooped the group again last week, but had to settle for a good third. He is very good right now. (6) TAURASI could get the best of everyone if he lulls them to sleep up front. It’s a short field, but a good field.

Race 10: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,750 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,675 P/S IN 2025-26 (MIN 10 STARTS).
(7) DRINKIN BUDDY gets a drop in class and a driver that should keep his options open when the gate springs. It wouldn’t surprise me if he works out a winning trip. (4) WANNABEABIGSTAR finally gets a good post draw after a couple of tighteners from bad posts. He is extremely logical tonight. (5) JORDY N ships from down under to make his Mohawk debut. His qualifier was solid and he adds Lasix. I think he should take some support.
Race 11: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $64,500 (OS $90,000) LIFETIME. AE: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER OPT. CLM. $60,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.
(8) DUSTY LANE LEVI was a sharp winner on the front last week. He gets another crack at the NW3 level where he should be dangerous. (5) LYONS FRANKY J has some pop to him that could be used to blow by some horses if he gets the right trip. He was pressured too much and too early from post ten last week. (2) BLUE BAR held his own more than I thought he would last week. He has enough speed to get himself into contention and hit the board.
