(4) FUSION hasn’t been able to make his moves stick in recent outings but when J-Mac last teamed up with him, he brought his A-Game. I’ll look for him to be properly positioned for a sharp rally. (2) ITS SATURDAY NIGHT is second back after four months off but showed plenty in his return. This speedy five-year-old should step forward tonight. (10) FIGMENT almost paced a sub-1:50 mile in his first start since June. We saw what he was capable of in the early summer months. Post hurts, but he has the ability.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS.

(5) D A JOHNNY CASH cemented himself as the horse to beat in this division after last week’s career-best win. (8) DETONATER HANOVER looks to get revenge for last week’s defeat in the final Gold leg. He will be activated early from this outside draw. (3) THREE SIX ZERO has appeared a pinch slower than the top two but has shown he can sprint with them late.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.

(2) VERILY eventually edged away from a game Northernlights Glo in last week’s contest. I think she will give us an encore performance tonight. (7) NORTHERNLIGHTS GLO, as previously mentioned, was very good last week and is certainly peaking at the right time. Another performance like that could see her earn a major piece of this. Hard to deny (8) MAJOR CONTENDER and her three-race winning streak, but we saw what it took for her to beat Verily three starts ago. I’m most curious about what trip she gets.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS.

(1) TOTALLY TYLER was excellent in his second Mohawk outing and established himself in a division that honestly needed someone to step up to the plate. That same stretch kick will make him tough to catch. (4) KERPLUNK led for a majority of the mile in his Menary barn debut but had to settle for second. I can see it playing out similarly tonight. (8) D A ALLJOKESASIDE tends to bring his best for the Golds and I don’t see why that would change tonight. If he fires out, he likely gets quarter moved on and sits third. He can still work out a good finish from there.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES.

If the (8) BLUE JEAN GAL from earlier in the season shows up, she will be tough to beat. Her last outing was a clear prep and she looked strong when trotting through the wire. (7) CHER HILL has cruised in the last two Gold legs and held her own against Grand Circuit types. She is extremely logical. (5) FLOWING TRIBUTE hasn’t lived up to expectations this season, but I don’t think there’s any doubt that McClure will give her a chance from this post.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES.

(3) TWIN B MAYREAU took a death shuffle in her latest and was firing home once she got to the outside. I’ll try her again for the big pot. (6) ACEANDATEN was mired in traffic early in the mile but once she worked her way to the front, she opened up and looked awesome. McNair has plenty of options with this draw. (7) JERSEY BULLDOG paced the mile of her life two starts ago and was as game as they come. The trip wasn’t in her favor last week. Hard to overlook her given the entire season she has put together.

Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS.

(3) STROBE LITE raced great in the Canadian Trotting Classic and will look to turn the tables on the rival who bested him two starts ago. He has appeared to put the breaks behind him. (7) TOUCHEDBYANANGEL is that main rival and is really the only other horse in this division who has posed a threat to Strobe Lite. It’s one of those two unless things get weird. (4) STORMONT SHANLYBOY posted a career best win in his latest and should be forwardly placed given this draw. A logical underneath use.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES.

(5) SHES A BULLDOG wasn’t living up to expectations early in her season and was stuck chasing Miss Jum Jabber in Kentucky. She was posting big miles, but many do. Well, last week’s mile showed that she was back and primed to repeat if that effort shows up again. (3) A CLEAN DEAL couldn’t hold off She’s A Bulldog, and this is starting to become a theme for her in the last month and a half. Is she favored again? (4) DAYA pulled the pocket and tried to sustain a second move but was unable to do so. She will be the best price of the three if that’s a big factor for you.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD SUPER FINAL: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS.

(3) REDLAND ROCKET MAN was lethal in both heats of the Little Brown Jug and has sustained career best form since the August 3 Gold. I’ll give him the nod over (7) BEAU JANGLES who shipped away from Canada for the second time and looked great in Lexington. These two should put on a show. (6) BORDERLINE MOBBY had to settle for second behind Beau Jangles in the final Gold leg. He has a similar turn of foot to the top two but hasn’t bested them of late.

Race 10: NW $9,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $22,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $60,000. AE: NW $50,000 IN 2026 (MIN 15 STS).

(2) JK BLACK GOLD just posted a career best last week and has a big post edge on the other contenders here. I think he tries to go down the road again. (10) WANNABEABIGSTAR found his best stride late after slightly gapping at the top of the stretch. Curious if the new pilot tries to send him from the far outside. (6) NUCLEAR has a sharp turn of foot and could take advantage if the pace turns wicked.

Race 11: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,250 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STS).

(7) HEINIKIN BYTHEBAY gets major class relief and likely is driven like the best horse in the race. (4) SOUTHSIDE EDDY is third back now and although he isn’t flashy, he is a reliable speed type that should put in a good outing. (2) GRIN AND WIN gets a major post switch and looks for a wake up. I’ll use him underneath.

Race 12: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $12,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $2,020 P/S IN 2025-2026.

(2) BLAZING CRUISER is another who isn’t flashy but can grind with the best of them at this level. He’s fourth back now and looks to continue the upward trend. (5) WHY WOULDNT YA gets a new pilot and a good draw after a sharp win at Kawartha. An aggressive steer could leave him in the mix at a price. (9) REMEMBER THE ALAMO has been pacing quality miles and was a winner when last seen at this level. An outside draw could leave him with more work to do in the early stages.
