(7) KERPLUNK towers over this field if he brings the turn of foot he has been showing against Gold colts. (9) POWNALBAY JIMBOB likes to rally from off the pace much better and should be passing rivals late if that’s the route he takes. (4) ALL DAY PRESS makes his Mohawk debut after improving with each start in PEI. Look for him to step forward again.

Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,615 P/S IN 2026.

I’ll look for (7) PLAY DATE to take advantage of a different field that could set her up with quick fractions. (1) THE LIES WE TELL had to settle for second behind a sharp Century Moo but raced well in that outing. She will be making up ground late. (6) HALF FAST could rebound with a good draw but I wonder how much she’ll have in the tank late in the mile. The other two will be charging.

Race 3: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(7) SAULSBROOK RODEO just missed in his latest in a race that wound up being a mad scramble to the finish. He is sharp right now. (8) SAULSBROOK GUNNER gets a new pilot this week who could fit his off the pace style that he appears to favor. I think he deserves another look. (3) WINDSUN TUXEDO gets a barn change after being soundly defeated in his last three outings. Previous form suggests he could rebound.

Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(5) AMORPHOUS is obviously still green but appears to have some speed. He tracked down the rival in front of him nicely in his latest qualifier. I’ll side with him in his debut. (7) COLD CREEK NACHO posted a nice mile off the qualifier and has the ability to be right in the mix if he minds his manners. (2) ALOTMOREACTION gives us a rare Downbytheseaside offspring sighting. I think Team McNair is still figuring him out, but the second qualifier was a step in the right direction.

Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 5) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $77,000) LIFETIME.

I’ll try (8) IMPERATIVE again after he just missed against a quality effort from Sapphire Steve. I’ll look for his third start back to be his best yet. (1) LO AND BEHOLD adds Lasix after a lackluster effort in her latest, which likely wasn’t a coincidence. She has been sharp against overnight company. (7) BUBBLE UP pulled off the upset in his latest with a sharp back half. He should be closing from well back again and could snag a piece.

Race 6: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW 8 RACES OR $60,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: 4 YR OLDS NW $35,000 IN 2026.

(8) IDIDITMYSHUI races off the claim after a good second in his latest. He could post a big mile tonight with new connections. (4) CATITUDE got a nice steer last week and was able to get up in the final eighth. The draw favors him again. (7) THEJACKOFDIAMONDS showed gate speed with Borth last week which makes him a bit more intriguing against this group.

Race 7: NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $15,000. AE: NW $31,000 IN 2026.

(2) SPIROS gets my tepid top call in a race with no clear standout. His last two outings have been better and now he faces a different group. (9) HANDSOME SEABASTIAN is second back and adds Lasix. We know what he is capable of even when he isn’t at 100 percent. We didn’t get a fair evaluation of (3) MAGIC LIAM last week who just got a trip around the track. He should show us more this week at a price.

Race 8: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS FOR NW $15,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: $45,000 LIFETIME.

(4) RUN TO THE HILLS was able to ration his speed in each of his last two outings and we know what he can bring on the bigger track. (6) OUTRUN THE ODDS looks for his fourth in a row and has a good post draw to help him out. (8) SOUTHERN JAZZ finally broke his maiden last week with his best career mile to date. He can get into the race in a variety of ways.

Race 9: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 5: 3 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD).

(4) BEAU JANGLES finds a pretty weak Gold leg as he looks to rebound from his Simcoe defeat. His main rival is (3) BORDERLINE MOBBY who was purely prepping last week with an outside post. He deserves a long look. (2) DAX SEELSTER has been pacing decent miles against Grassroots foes which is, for the most part, who he faces tonight.

Race 10: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $27,000 LIFETIME. AE: 4 YO NW $19,500 IN 2026.

(2) EMERALD ISLAND was tracked down late in her latest but has been ultra consistent in her five starts this year. I’ll try her again. (8) VISTA VERDE has the turn of foot to pass many rivals in the stretch. I imagine Roy will be looking for a live helmet. (5) M E LAUREL gets away from Gold fillies and gets a barn change for tonight. She could easily land a stalking spot with a chance to pounce.
