Top Pick Stats: 220/662 (-$246.50) Best Bets: 26/60 (-$5.20); Spot Plays: 12/61 (-$37.70) Best Bet: TROUBLE WITH NAMES (Race 6) Spot Play: NASEY (Race 3) Early Pick-5: 4,8/3,7/1/6,7/3,7,8   $4.80 Late Pick-5: 5/7,10/3,6/4,6/1   $1.60 Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES. (8) RONDA MAY K was a sharp winner on debut, but that was a couple months ago now. She showed more than enough to make me confident that she will come back ready to roll, especially after a morning prep to keep her tight. (4) KNGTSTLKRS GAMES showed good speed in Kentucky, but many horses usually do. She gets a drop from stakes company, though, and draws a post that gives McClure options. (3) FIGURATIVELY takes a drop from top level stakes. He was a fine fourth three starts ago when racing from off the pace. If she sits mid-pack, I can see her grinding out a finish in the money. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: WINNERS OF 3 (FM 4) BUT NOT MORE THAN 5 (FM 6) OR $105,000 LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS. (3) P L SPENCER was moving best of everyone in the stretch once he was able to find room to the outside. It helped that Landing On Time made a break and spoiled his win, but his effort was impressive nonetheless. (7) LMC WAGON WHEEL also produced a sharp closing kick to just miss at a double digit price. Doug McNair gets the call tonight; I’ll look for an aggressive drive. (1) MONALISHI looked like herself again in her morning prep, but she hasn’t raced since late June. She will need a couple starts to be tight enough to trust on top, in my opinion. Race 3: NW $9,900 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $18,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $2,655 P/S IN 2025. AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE $16,000 LAST START. (1) NASEY tends to shine when dropping to levels like this, and will offer a better price than his main rival. I think a quarter move could come if he gets away in decent order. (5) R PEAKY BLINDERS is that class-dropping main rival who was excellent last month when rocketed out on the lead. Those two could easily sit 1-2 as the mile develops. (6) WILLYS HOME RUN is slowly rounding back into form, and is visually improving with each start. Jody Jamieson gets the call tonight and could work out a second over trip. Race 4: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $45,000 IN 2025 N/E). AE: NW $25,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 1. (7) MUSCLE FASHION worked out a perfect pocket trip last week and got his first win of the season. Jamieson hasn’t been as aggressive with him in recent starts, but could be after seeing him do that. He can repeat. (6) WATERFALL cut a quick first half after blasting to the lead, and it took a toll on him. The post improvement should help. He has been showing more than many others here. (1) HEAD OF THE CLASS was better in his latest and could capitalize if the speed to his outside is too quick. Race 5: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $9,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (8) RIPASSO was a fast-closing third in his latest, and now adds Lasix. McClure fits this guy very well, and he could come up with a big effort at a square number. (3) RESPECT OUR FLAG gets a big post switch this week and finds a group that could easily produce some cheap speed. This is the lowest level that the veteran has seen in quite a while. (7) LETS GET ROCKED tried to make two moves in what ended up being a fast race, and dug in to finish fifth. He could roll over these if a front-end mission is in the cards, given his recent speed showings. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $44,500) LIFETIME. (5) TROUBLE WITH NAMES took his talents to Grand River for an OSS Gold event and just got picked off at the wire. He looked just even two starts ago, but the leaders got a soft middle half that day and he was unable to win the sprint home. I think he shines against this field. (6) IMA DINOSAUR was parked for the mile last week from post nine; He had reason to tire. He may need a bit more pop at the end of his mile, but if he sits a good trip, it could fall right into his lap. (1) HOUSTON SEELSTER drops back to the NW2 condition where he is a bit more familiar. He has enough early speed to get away from the rail in decent order and can finish in the money tonight. Race 7: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $45,000 IN 2025 N/E). AE: NW $25,000 IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 1. (10) TACTICAL STRIKE is a mare I’ll give another chance to after her solid second place finish from off the pace. Young may have no choice but to go forward with this post, which can result in them teaming up for another win. (7) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN has plenty of back class around the Mohawk oval, but his last effort doesn’t inspire as much confidence. Bob McClure gets the nod tonight against an easier bunch. It’s those two for me in the second leg of the late Pick-5. (4) JGS PAL has produced sharp late kick in recent weeks and could be dangerous if he finds a helmet. At the very least, he can close for a piece. Race 8: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $37,500 LIFETIME. (3) IBELIEVEINANGELS just missed in what was her first start on Lasix. Louis Roy sticks and should have her up close in a shorter field. I’ll give her the nod. (6) TITIAN drew away from her rivals convincingly last week, though Roy chose against her which I thought was noteworthy. Jody Jamieson gets the call and should be able to get her away in decent order as well. (2) SUPERGIRL MOLLY could not hold off the charge from Titian and ended up finishing third as the odds on favorite. She didn’t have as much punch last week; I’ll use her underneath tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: NW $16,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $24,000 LAST 8 STARTS.  AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW 9 RACES LIFETIME. (6) WHAT ABOUT ELMO came out of nowhere to score by nearly a half dozen lengths last week. That might have been the best he has ever looked, and now finds himself up against another short field. He could get plenty of respect and repeat. (4) EMOJI HANOVER is very sharp right now, having won three straight and nailing rivals in the stretch. I would trust Roy to have her in the right spot again. (2) SID THE KID was a sharp drop and pop winner last week, which should build his confidence. He has been a contender at the Preferred level in the past. Race 10: NW $6,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $16,500 LAST 8 STARTS (W/O $20,000 LAST 8 STARTS N/E). (1) PATRIARCH HANOVER tried to make a second move against Sid The Kid, but he drew away from rivals and left him in the dust. I think he should put up a much better effort tonight in the class where he won two starts ago. (5) MYRETIREMENTDREAM was beaten from the start when he got away last. He trotted home well, but the damage was done. He is another who should contend off the drop, especially with his gate speed. (7) WILLOWTIME was making an outside move into contention, but made a break. He may need a couple more starts to round back into form, but needs to mind his manners.
