(5) SAULSBROOK GUNNER took a step forward last week and could be set for a winning effort if that progression continues. (8) COULD BE KING has a sharp turn of foot off the car and should situate himself nicely. Better fractions should see him stick around. I don’t mind using (2) CATITUDE again because of the post switch. I think he’ll be an overlay and could add value to exotics.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(4) JUST KEEP FLYING hasn’t followed up the magic of his August 6 effort but should be tough here if ready to go. (7) THE SWOOPER has been in the mix for most of his season and that should continue tonight. (1) HP FOLLOW ME tracked along nicely in his latest which has been his M.O. thus far. He should be pacing with these late but maybe not passing them.

Race 3: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(4) ACEFORTYFOUR DAISY is difficult to look past because of her turn of foot late in the mile. These mares don’t tend to sustain on the front end. See (8) MEILLEUR FROMAGE and what she was able to do last week. She got to the outside and paced away late at a price. I don’t mind her making two moves if necessary. (5) HEAVENS LIL DRAGON gets Cullen back in the bike who just gets a bit more out of her. Post draw favors her too.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(4) DIAMONDSBESTFRIEND is proven at this level and should have no trouble getting herself a good trip. The upside of (10) SOPHIES SECRET makes her enticing but it’s just her second career start and she has to navigate post ten. (5) BULLDOG BELLE tends to sustain her outside moves and is having a solid season. I expect that to continue.

Race 5: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $4,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(2) IDIDITMYSHUI tracked nicely for a majority of the mile and finished a strong second. I think he does one better tonight. (7) THE DARK PANTHER has been okay since the claim but I thought he should’ve had more in the stretch considering the trip he got. (6) MACH IMPACT was better in his latest and could be rounding back into a form that has him in the mix.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5B. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(5) WE WANT IT ALL looks to remain perfect and the post draw favors that result. (8) LYONS FLURRY stalked We Want It All from the pocket for the majority of the mile and is likely to situate herself near the front again. (1) CANADIAN BLONDES has hit the board in five of seven career starts but I don’t think the rail post favors her. She may have to work first over.

Race 7: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(8) MAJORSWEET HANOVER paced a big final quarter at The Meadows in his latest and appears to be in form that can allow him to win. The trip is my only question. (3) SHADOW ROMAN is an unknown commodity who ships from Hippodrome 3R. He likely shows us more over the big track, but how big is the jump? (2) BETTORS MYSTERY has a decent turn of foot and should be sustaining a middle move if he gets to the outside. He can get a piece.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(4) STEALY DELIGHT could give this McNair duo a real run for their money considering the turn of foot he showcased on debut. Just how deep is he? (6) C SCRIPT would still be unbeaten if not for a pylon violation in the Battle Of Waterloo. He is the horse to beat. Ironically, the lone defeat for (7) WILL FARROH also came in the Battle Of Waterloo. However, he doesn’t appear to possess the punch that the top two have.

Race 9: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $60,000 (OS $82,000) LIFETIME.

(9) IMPERATIVE deserves a repeat look after edging away from his rivals last week despite getting late pulled on. (2) DUSTY ROADS gets a key post switch which should allow him to be put in play. (5) SAPPHIRE STEVE has found a nice match with Mark Macdonald and finds a great post to leave from and try to repeat.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,605 P/S IN 2025-26.

(1) CENTURY MOO was flying on the end of it and nearly got to (2) HALF FAST who built up a lead that proved to be insurmountable. I’ll look for the former to turn the tables on the latter. (6) TALBOT KRISTEN showed more punch in her latest. A similar turn of foot in the back half of the race could see her pass rivals and get a piece.

Race 11: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME.

(8) WILD ROSE HANOVER was finally given different tactics in her latest, and look at what happened: an upset win at 15/1. Another semi-aggressive steer should have her right back in the mix. (1) TWIN B SHOWBIZ was best of the rest in last week’s Gold. She raced well there and continues to display a solid turn of foot. (6) IN SESSION finally got the job done in her latest and leaves from the same post tonight. However, I don’t expect her to hold on again if the gets the lead.
