(3) BELLA CAVALLA comes off a good effort when 2nd to a sharp repeat winner and she fits well here. I’ll give her a slight nod to kick off the early Pick 5. (1) ADARE CASTLE’s one win this year came at this level six races back and she didn’t exactly dominate as the 1 to 9 chalk. She obviously can win here, but she is almost sure to get overbet. Your call. (4) ALL WRAPPED UP typically gets driven more aggressively at this level and he can be a speed threat vs. these. He is another possibility for the early Pick 5. (6) BRACE FOR LANDING drops, but Macdonald sticks with the rail horse over him. I’ll use him underneath here.

(9) HUNGRY MAN drops to a logical spot here and he will likely blast right to the front and play catch me if you can. (7) POINTS NORTH absolutely jogged last time he raced this low, and he would be no surprise on the class drop here. (3) SPORTSLINE went a huge parked trip in defeat at Hanover and he is the other one that I’ll use in the Pick 5 here. (2) COLIN YOUR BLUFF comes in from Georgian razor sharp and he should be in the exotics mix tonight.

Race 3: NW $15,250 L5 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 AE: N/A $2,220 P/S in 2023/24

(3) QUEBEC HANOVER couldn’t be any sharper and I think he continues his roll here despite stepping up in class again. (5) ESPLOSIONE drops to a level where his potent late kick should play well, and he will likely be the one to fend off late; using. (9) SPARKS FLY woke up with a much better effort against HP Mama B and he is worth using in the exotics here. (7) RICKY RESOLVE tries hard every week, and he will likely close for another slice here.

Race 4: CLM HDCP $14,000 to $18,000 - Pick 4

(10) MR BEAST crushed last time he raced this low, and he will be tough to beat here if he can clear to the front from the widest post; top call. (8) HAPUNA BEACH raced better last week which could be a sign that he is cycling back to his best form. McNair takes over tonight and he’s worth a look at a price here. (2) MACH IMPACT got over bet last week off a troubled trip the week before and he could do no better than 3rd. I’ll use him underneath tonight. (6) B STONEY kicked in 27 4/5 last week. He can sneak into the exotics this time.

Race 5: POP UP SERIES: NW $18,000 (F&M $22,500) IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: N/A $1,400 (F&M $1,750) P/S IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 1

(9) JOKIC has been driven by his trainer in his last four starts now he gets Macdonald in a spot where he seems to fit well. I’ll give him top billing expecting an aggressive steer. (2) COOL CLIFFORD projects to get a good trip racing on or near the lead in this spot and he is the other one that I’ll use on multi-race tickets. (10) LINDYS IRISHCREAM is one of the better ones in here, but you have to wonder what kind of a trip she will get starting from out there. I’ll use her underneath. (5) ZIP ME UP exits several fast miles. He should be good for a share vs. these.

Race 6: Horses that have started for a purse of $9K or less in 1 of L3 - Pick 5

(6) IDEAL PERCEPTION has been laying down some big fractions at Grand River and he comes in off a strong effort in the top class there. He should be tough on the engine here. (1) RESPECT OUR FLAG took big action here last week then got involved in a destructive duel in a race where the top two finishers were last and second last after the first 1/4. He can win here if he gets a better trip. (2) LEGION SEELSTER only has one win this year but that came two starts back and he is very sharp now. He is in the mix here. (5) RICARDOSHILYSHALLY should be passing rivals late and he is a good one to use on the bottom.

Race 7: POP UP SERIES: NW $18,000 (F&M $22,500) IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: N/A $1,400 (F&M $1,750) P/S IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) LEG 1

(1) PRINCE OF SUSSEX had to trot a 27 3/5 second 1/4 to make front last week and that exertion took its toll late. Macdonald sticks with him here and so will I. (5) BLUE DEVIL could get a trip similar to the one that led to a big upset two starts back. He’s dangerous here starting from one of the best posts. (2) FATHER DANIELS is 1 for the last 20 months, but he raced well at Grand River on Wednesday night, and he won’t get bet with the trainer driving; price look for the multis. (10) ER NORMA is one of the best ones in here, but she doesn’t have much gate speed and she might be trying to pass most of them. I’d demand a price.

Race 8: POP UP SERIES: NW $18,000 (F&M $22,500) IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: N/A $1,400 (F&M $1,750) P/S IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS) LEG 1 - Pick 4

(6) ALL GAS NO BRAKES was motoring at the wire last week and he fits well in this Pop Up series field; top call. (9) DELCREST BRENT raced great in the last Popup series. I’d like him more if he drew better, but he can still be a late threat. (1) VILLEFRANCHE AS should sit a trip racing close to the front and land in the Tri here. (7) NO ANGEL LIKE ME exploded to score a big upset in the Popup consolation. This is tougher and I see her closing for a slice this time.

Race 9: NW $4,850 L5 AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: NW $20,500 IN 2024. AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS LAST 2 STARTS.

(8) PIKACHU HANOVER got a tightener in after being off since May now it’s go time. On his best day, he crushes these. (4) LIKE CHAOS is in peak form and the trainer hands the lines to Henry. An aggressive steer is very likely, and he will be on my late multi-race tickets. (5) SHADRACK HANOVER drops back to where he fits better, and he is in the exotics mix vs. these. (1) GRATEFUL will likely accept a covered trip racing in the first flight here and stick around for a slice.

Race 10: CLM HDCP $30,000 to $40,000

(6) HP LIS SHADOW drops in for a tag, draws best, and gets the leading driver. He should be tough to beat in this spot. (5) LETS GET ROCKED was an easy winner last week in his second try at this level and Lester has him going well now. He should be the late threat. (1) THRILLING TIMES raced great in the Pop Up series but these are tougher. I think he takes a small share tonight. (3) DR JOE can pass some of these late and land in the bottom of the Tri or Super.

Race 11: 3 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS STARTERS

(8) SID THE KID has raced great in both starts since he returned, and he is the one to catch here. (4) ROYAL DUHARAS got the trip following the choice and he picked him off at the wire. Driver Roy showed confidence in this gelding taking him over others that night and he could repeat if he works out a similar trip; using. (5) MAGIC DEALER was over his head racing in a Gold last time. He fits much better here, and he is worth a look for the late Pick 4. (1) JACK AND ABS disappointed in his last two starts but he should be part of the exotics again. (2) THE CANAM BANKER is another that likely takes a small share in this spot.
