Race 1: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS STARTERS FOR NW $15,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: PROSPECT STARTERS.

(1) A SPLASH OF GREEN returned with a sharp qualifier. A repeat of that mile likely sees her getting her picture taken off the bench. (8) BELLE BOUBOU has proven she can take air on the outside, which she may need to do tonight to get herself into contention. (5) VERY SASSY was a good second last week and draws well for another likely speed try.

Race 2: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (MUST RACE IN 2 LEGS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FINAL). LEG 1.

(3) GLORYVIEW IMAGE looks for his third win in a row after back-to-back on the front end. He’ll likely be pointed there again. (1) EARLY PLAY hasn’t won much this year but made a strong move in the middle portion of his latest and drew away. A sustained bid can see him in contention. (5) ROYAL JK was sneaky good on the end of last week’s mile and could add some value underneath if he gets away a smidge closer.

Race 3: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 3 RACES) RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(4) DOUNEEDTHEMACHINE trotted well in the stretch when he stayed straight. I think getting away from the rail will benefit her this week. I’ll give her the nod. (8) ANGELINA DUHARAS makes her Mohawk debut after a strong win at Grand River. We’ll see how she measures up against these. (7) IN SESSION is very difficult to trust after she was unable to finish the job last week. She’ll find her field that she can outstagger eventually.

Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3A. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(6) TH FRANCESCA was trotting best of the top three in her latest, but had to settle for second. She is continuing to progress nicely. (5) HUSTLEFORTHEMUSCLE trotted a solid mile on debut and promptly dominated at Hanover in her next outing. She draws well and should be a factor. (9) DROMOLAND CASTLE pulled off a big upset last week but now you get a fraction of the price and an outside draw. We’ll see if she can repeat that effort.

Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3A. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(1) GREEN SILVERADO has done nothing wrong at Mohawk and will look to win again at the Grassroots level. (4) STORMONT MAGENTA couldn’t handle Gold foes but she drops back to Grassroots competition and draws better tonight. (5) ELUSIVE STATION was a bit of a mystery on debut and got the job done as a slight overlay. If she continues progressing, she should be in the mix again.

Race 6: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $35,000) LIFETIME. AE: N/A $710 P/S IN 2026.

(8) MASSBAR is third back now and worked out a nice trip in her latest. She was able to grind down the leaders which is a tactic that could be in the cards again tonight. (1) RONDA MAY K has the most raw speed in this group, but she has been making some miscues. A conservative early drive could leave her a step out of position. (4) SOCIAL WIZARD is a consistent filly who picks up checks when racing at this level. The draw favors her.

Race 7: POP UP SERIES: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (MUST RACE IN 2 LEGS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FINAL). LEG 1.

(6) DOCS ROCK is second off the claim and making his second start on Lasix after a solid effort from off the pace. He draws better and could pull an upset with the right trip. (2) THE DARK PANTHER has been consistent since the claim and should be grinding his way into contention again. (4) SHOW STOP crushed in his latest and has a solid turn of foot around the Mohawk oval. He could pick up the pieces late.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3A. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(5) FLEETWOOD DANCER finds a slightly softer group this time and should benefit from this post draw. (2) STORMONT VIOLET was a sharp winner up the inside on debut and likely has more to show us. I can excuse last week’s mistake from a wide post. (10) CANADIAN QUEEN was unable to finish last week’s mile on the lead. I think the wide draw will help her because she’s leaning towards being better from off a helmet.

Race 9: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 5) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $71,000) LIFETIME.

(2) MIKE ME UP gets the nod from Borth and was a good second last week. Although he hasn’t won yet this year, his turn of foot could set him up perfectly to roll off cover. (6) ILL HAVE THE RED was better in her latest and draws slightly better tonight. She has the ability to add value to exotics. (9) GUCCI GUCCI GOO is fourth back in his rotation now and has improved with each start. He was able to pass more than a few rivals late in the mile last week.

Race 10: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 3A. 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(8) BEBA BLUE CHIP can be forgiven for her latest because of broken equipment. Her debut was a strong second that showed potential. (5) HOUSTONWEAVAPROBLEM held off rivals nicely once she got to the lead and draws well tonight. (7) THANKFUL IN NORTH comes out of that same race but may not have the punch to contend for the win against the top two.
