(2) DOUNEEDTHEMACHINE got back to form with a tracking trip in her latest. She has improved with each trip around the Mohawk oval. (7) SOS UNSTOPPABLE showed a good turn of foot on the end of her mile that could be utilized more with a better trip. (6) MIGHTY MORGAN hasn’t done much wrong so far and comes off a big win. She could show us more on the big track.

Race 2: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $11,000 OR LESS LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $40,000 IN 2026 N/E). AE:N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 2.

(2) NZURI was bet down to favoritism for good reason in leg one. He should get another cozy trip in a short field. (5) EMMA TOWN BUD just got up for the win in his Mohawk return. A repeat of that mile makes him a threat. (6) ZIP ME UP couldn’t mount a rally from mid pack in leg one and will likely be left chasing again tonight.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(3) BISCUITINTHEBASKET produced a sharp rally from off the pace but (1) DIAMONDSBESTFRIEND got the jump on her from the pocket. I’ll look for the former to turn the tables. (6) MIDNIGHT MATRIMONY deserves a shot at the Grassroots level after a nice win in her latest. Another step forward puts her in contention.

Race 4: POP UP SERIES: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $11,000 OR LESS LAST 3 STARTS (W/O $40,000 IN 2026 N/E). AE:N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 10 STARTS). LEG 2.

(7) OUT THE WINDOW couldn’t sustain her front-end bid in leg one, but I could see her coming right back and producing a successful front-end score tonight. (5) FIREINSIDEMYVEINS has taken a step forward in each start this month and looms as a contender despite an 0-for 2026. (1) YOU GUESSED IT was a good second last week but can sometimes get left behind when the fractions are quick up front.

Race 5: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YO N/A $1,015 P/S IN 2026.

(2) ELLINGTON gets away from some quick conditioned types and should be able to utilize his sharp turn of foot much better. (1) TRASHNYOURDREAMS is the lone two year old in the field but he has flashed some potential. I think another step forward can get him a big piece. (9) BETTORS MYSTERY raced very well after being off a month but will need to work out a trip from the outside.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(7) LYONS BULLDOG continues to know where the wire is. She looks to remain perfect in Grassroots competition. (1) ACEANDATEN looked fractious before last week’s race but brought her A-Game when it mattered most. A repeat of that has her right in the mix. (2) BULLDOG BELLE continues to be in the mix despite tough trips. She won’t be a maiden for long.

Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 5) RACES OR $55,000 (OS $76,500) LIFETIME.

(2) UPTO LAURA HANOVER continues her march past rivals since the qualifier. I’ll look for her to keep the streak going. (7) GUCCI GUCCI GOO was flat late but tried a first over move against a sharp Dusty Roads. A different trip can see him rebound. (5) EXACTLY is listed as in-to-go both Sunday and Monday night, which is a problem. If he shows up here, I can see him getting a piece with an off-the-pace trip. I got it!

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4. 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(7) DEL RAY SEELSTER was pushed through a quick first half and logically tired late. I’ll try her again against a field that has yet to prove itself. (4) WATCHMEPARTY drops from the Gold ranks where she has been stuck chasing better fillies. She should fit better here. (3) LOVE MY FRENCHIE took significant support last week but made an early miscue. She deserves another look.

Race 9: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (OS 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. AE: N/A $920 P/S IN 2026.

(6) ALPHA BLUE CHIP looked much better last week and cruised at the shortest of prices. He should get another good trip tonight. (1) EMERALD ISLAND rallied nicely from off the pace in her latest. My only concern is she gets away poorly from the rail and has to chase. (7) M E LAUREL will likely take more money than necessary because of the Gold lines. She hasn’t finished a mile outside of the maiden score three back.

Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (MUST RACE IN 2 LEGS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FINAL).

(3) TITANIC HANOVER is back in top form and looks for a sweep of this series. (6) SHOW STOP was left chasing Titanic Hanover last week but his turn of foot should still be respected. (8) DOCS ROCK was a horse I wanted to bet back after the August 10 Mohawk race. Much to my dismay, I missed the Grand River race and the price he offered. He’ll offer one again here, but I think it’s in vain.
