Wide-open race to kick off the early Pick 5. I'll stab with (9) SCRIVENOR HANOVER who won well on debut in Ottawa at 1 to 5 and now moves into the potent Barrington barn. (8) QUITE BEACHY comes off a solid effort but she loses J Mac now and I wonder if she will be an underlay tonight. (6) LE BEC FIN’s local debut was good, and she is another in with a shot here. (2) IDYLLIC DELIGHT hasn’t missed the board in Grassroots races, and she should be part of the exotics here, too.

Race 2: CLM HDCP $25,000 to $35,000

(6) I AMA ROCKET is back in form and that is bad news for his rivals at this class level; call to repeat. (4) JM JACK OF HEARTS raced well when narrowly beaten by the choice last week. He can be an Exacta factor again here. (2) QUAN BLUE CHIP is racing well but his style puts him up against it in this small field; using underneath. (5) SUNDAY AFTERNOON races against males again and she did well last week. She should be good for another share.

Race 3: NW $4,600 L5

(9) WOODMERE FENN paced his back 1/2 in 53 3/5 last week and he gets the call to upset in a race that has the potential to fall apart late. (5) LETS TIE ONE ON comes off a strong effort and he figures to be a big threat here; using. (7) TORONTO is another that comes off a good effort, trying first up in a fast race. He is another in with a shot. (1) PIRATE HANOVER should close for a small share.

Race 4: Horses that have started for a purse of $15K or less in 1 of L3 - Pick 4

Gritty veteran (9) MISTER MAGIC has found his best form now and he gets the call to repeat despite drawing wide. This is a great spot for (6) KAMERAN HANOVER and he will likely be the one to fend off late; using. (7) POWER AND GRACE got a tough trip from the worst post now she gets post relief and a driver change to Borth. She can take a share tonight. (8) PHEONIX should be in the exotics mix on the class drop here.

Race 5: NW $15,000 in 2023 AE: N/A $1,250 P/S in 2023 (Min. 5 starts)

This is a good spot for (2) FOREFATHER, who disappointed at 4 to 5 in his last start in a fast race. He should be tough in here. (9) GRAND POOBAH gets Drury tonight after getting hung out from the 10-hole. He could go a long way if he clears tonight; using. (1) SOMEWHERENTUSCANY takes a big drop here and he is another in with a shot at this level. (10) HES SWIFT is sharp, but he is likely to close late for a small slice starting from the widest post tonight.

Race 6: NW $8,600 L5 AE: OPT CLM $45,000 - Pick 5

(6) SIMCOE SEELSTER gets a trainer change and adds Lasix tonight. He could wake up at long odds; price play. (1) SHADRACK HANOVER gets needed class relief here and he has enough gate speed to get position early in the mile. He should be one of the main players. (7) MACALLAN is the other dropper that figures to be much better tonight; using. (2) WHITE TIGER should get positioned near the front again and ride a trip to a share.

Race 7: 5YO and younger winners of 2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO OPT CLM $50,000 - Pick 4

(6) SILLY ME HANOVER likely needed last week's race which was only her second start of the year. I'll give her the nod in a spot where she should win if she is sharp and sound. (3) TACTICAL PLANNER is in great form, and she should contend despite facing tougher; using. (2) EDEN ONTHEHILL tried the front end, and it didn't work. He will likely be passing horses late and he is another in with a shot. (8) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN is hit and miss but he should get at least a slice coming off a strong effort.

Race 8: NW $23,000 L5

(8) PEMBERTON drops and gets off the rail and he is the one to beat here. (4) HP MAMA B should get a good trip racing on or near the front tonight and she should be the one that the choice needs to track down in the final 1/4. (6) FRANKS ANGEL nosed out the choice last time, but he did little work. I'll use him underneath here. (7) TOKYO SEELSTER is another dropper that should get a piece tonight.

Race 9: FREE FOR ALL

(3) LOGAN PARK should get a much better trip in this short field, and I'll call him to turn the tables on (5) FASHION FRENZIE, who became a millionaire with last week's win and should be the main threat. (4) WARRAWEE XENIA had no shot pulling into a 26-flat kicker in the Steele Memorial, but facing the best local males is no picnic, either. I'll use her underneath. (2) ONEY HALL is in great form, but this is a tough spot; small share predicted.

Race 10: CLM HDCP $12,000 to $16,000

(2) BETTOR NOTBITTER A won from a tough spot last week now he gets the leading driver. He should be tough in here. (9) MILITARY SECRET just won from the 10-hole at short odds in his first start for Barrington. He is an obvious threat right back. (6) BAD EYE BILL raced well in his first race back at Mohawk Park now he draws best. He is the other one that I'll use on late multi-race tickets. (4) ARTISTIC PICK was decent in the first start off the Fellows claim and he should be in the mix again. (3) CHOREOGRAOHER returns from the 'B' tracks in solid form. He is a good one to use underneath tonight.
