Top Pick Stats: 358 - 1059 / $2,001.60 (-$116.40) Best Bets: 54 - 100 / $175.80 (-$24.20) Spot Plays: 23 - 97 / $222.90 (+$28.90) Best Bet: OSCEOLA (9TH) Spot Play: BLUE BAR (7TH) Early Pick 5: 1,3,6/2,5/1,5,6/3,5,9/2,3,4 = $32.40 Late Pick 5: 3,8/2,3,8/6/2/3,4,5,7 = $4.80 Early Pick 4: 3,5,9/2,3,4/3,8/2,3,8 = $10.80 Late Pick 4: 2,3,8/6/2/3,4,5,7 = $4.80 Race 1: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5** (3) SUNSATIONAL just went for a spin around the track when he drew the 10-hole on debut now he draws better, and he will be sharper for that debut tightener. I’ll take a price stab with him. (6) SAUBLE WILSON looked terrific powering home in 26 1/5 to win his debut and he is an obvious one for the early Pick 5. (1) TIP OF TIME, bought for only $10,000 at Harrisburg, impressed in his June 22nd qualifier and Doc Moore appears to have him ready to go at first asking. He is the third one that I’ll use in the early Pick 5. (9) BOZAK closed a big gap in his debut, but he draws wide again. A small share is likely for him. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: Horses that have started for a purse of $15K or less in 1 of L3 This looks like a race that will set up for a closer, and (5) KAMERAN HANOVER fits that bill. He can win his first of the year in this spot. This is a good class level for (2) GIGONDAS, who no doubt will get sent forward leaving the gate. I wonder if the other apparent early speed will sting him enough to get him beat, though. I’d demand a price. (6) BRACE FOR LANDING’s recent form has improved and he can take a share here starting from the best post. (1) SHADRACK HANOVER is morning line favorite based on a blowout win at Kawartha Downs at five cents to the dollar beating overmatched rivals. He’s a bet against for me in this spot. Race 3: 4YO and younger NW $19,650 LT (5) CHESTERMAN didn’t get the best trips in his last two starts and he still finished in-the-money. He gets a good post here and he can win with some better racing luck. (6) DEUCE HANOVER gamely dug in to hold off the chalk last week. That was his second shar effort in a row. He is improved and dangerous. (1) WALLACE HARTLEY didn’t get the best trip last week and he had no chance of chasing down the strong winner. He is another that could do here if he gets better racing luck; using. (4) A CLASS YANKEE fired a big kicker but still only took the smallest check last time. He likely closes too late here but lands a share. Race 4: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 4 (9) D A LETS BOOGIE was bought for $200K by Determination in London and he looked sharp winning his July 2nd qualifier, making a quick brush to the front then holding his rivals at bay pacing strong through the wire. I’ll give him top billing here on debut. (3) BELMONT BLAZER raced well here on debut on 6/25 then took a win at Georgian where he was allowed to control the pace as he pleased. He should contend here in his first sires stakes try. $205,000 Lexington sale buy (5) CRACK SHOT is unveiled by trainer McNair who also shares ownership. He looks ready to fire a good effort on debut; using. (7) WHATS YOUR LIMITS is a $28K Harrisburg purchase that is related to three winners out of three that have made the races. It’s hard to toss any Bettors Delight offspring, he has been that dominating. Race 5: Horses that have started for a purse of $9K or less in 1 of L4 (3) COME ON ARTIE gets post relief and Roy in the bike tonight and I think he gets an aggressive drive that can lead to a win; top call. (4) BOB LOBLAW has had four starts back and his final 1/4s from his past two starts indicate that he is racing himself into shape. He gets to face easier tonight and I can see him contending here. (2) REACTOR NOW A never got into the race last week. I think he leaves hard this time and finds a spot near the front and that gives him a chance. (10) TAYLORS CREDIT surprisingly was sent on a speed mission from the rail last week and he held on well considering how fast he paced early in the mile. I think he sits and rallies this time, and he can sneak into the bottom of the exotics. Race 6: NW $8,900 L5 or $15,800 L8 AE: 3YO fillies - Pick 5 (8) DERF HANOVER drops a couple of levels here and Filion will likely be looking to send him right down the road. He will probably prove tough to catch. (3) KEVIN ANTHONY won last time he raced at a level similar to tonight’s and he was raced aggressively that night. Henry will likely send him, and he is the one to fear. (7) WINNING ALLIANCE is a fast sophomore filly that has a nose for the winner’s circle, but intent could be an issue here with her racing between stakes engagements. I’d need a price. (5) SPARTAN GENERAL probably needed last week’s start. He can be part of the exotics here dropping for this second start back. Race 7: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 1. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS - Pick 4 (2) BLUE BAR got a couple of miles in which will provide some valuable experience now Cullen takes the lines. It’s go time. (3) WICKED STORM faced some colts in his debut that made their next starts in Golds. He can improve and this doesn’t appear to be a stacked field; using. (8) ZANDER was plucked out of the Blooded Horse Sale for a mere $2,000 and he appears to already be worth plenty more than that. He looks fast enough to contend at first asking and he is another possibility for multi-race tickets. (9) BOYD BAY sold for $30K in Lexington and his second qualifier indicates that he can contend for at least a share here on debut. Race 8: NW $15,700 L5 (6) FRANKS ANGEL climbs down the class ladder a bit tonight and he beat similar two starts back. He is the one to beat starting from the best post. I thought (3) MRMAYOR HANOVER raced well on the lead last week. He is sharp and he should be a threat vs. these. (1) YO MISTER chased Ghostly Casper last week and that was mission impossible. There are no Ghostly Caspers in this field and that gives him a shot. (2) DEALIN WITH DEWEY is in the mix every week and he can land in the Tri or Super here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: PREFERRED 2 This is (2) OSCEOLA’s race to lose not having to face either Logan Park or Gaines Hanover. It’s really that simple. (6) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN returns from a break in sharp form and I think he blasts to the front then lets the choice go in the second 1/4 and follows him home from there. (1) DISTANCE LEARNING will likely sit another following trip then rally for a share. Sharp (5) NASEY likely rallies past a couple of these to take a slice. Race 10: NW $4,550 L5 or $12,750 L10 (5) JACK PANIC drops and the same first up effort that he produced last week will likely work on this field; top call. (3) SMOKESTACK tried a couple of moves from post 10 in a field where he needed a better post to be effective. He gets that post now and he fits okay here; using. (7) PALLADIUM HANOVER was game in defeat to a class dropper last week and he is another in with a shot here. (4) BLOCKBUSTER TRADE returns quicker and he keeps J Mac in the bike. I think he improves enough to take a share. (1) ROLL WITH THE FLOW is another that will likely land on the edges in this spot.
