Top Pick Stats: 90/265 (-$123.80) Best Bets: 9/23 (-$10.80); Spot Plays: 4/24 (-$30.70) Best Bet: OSCEOLA (Race 9) Spot Play: DAX SEELSTER (Race 10) Early Pick 5: 2,9/2,7/2,8/6,7/1,10   $6.40 Late Pick 5: 5,10/1,10/2,3,4/5/6   $2.40 Race 1: NW $3,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,500 PER START IN 2024-2025. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (2) MISTER MAGIC has been getting checks against tougher competition. He should be handled aggressively against this group. (9) WATERFALL should improve in his second start after the qualifier, but the wide draw makes me question the trip. He could be just too far away to catch the leaders. (4) VILLEFRANCHE AS still has some speed at nine and should be forwardly placed. She’ll be looking to hold horses off late for a board hit. (6) MYSTIC has been racing fine from off the speed and can pass horses late to land on the ticket. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (2) UNA MOMENTA had no chance to show what she had on debut after getting away towards the back. Borth gives her the nod, and so will I. (7) BIKINI SEELSTER stepped forward with a clean trip, and could have even more in the tank when forwardly placed. If she's the best in here, why try to get her a troubled trip? (5) LIKE A FINE WINE made a solid backstretch move to get her in contention but flattened out. She will need more in the late stages. (3) CLEOPANTHER continues to improve, but could be too far back to do any serious damage. Race 3: NW $3,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $8,000 LAST 10 STARTS. (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: NW $32,750 IN 2025. (2) BOOMING ECONOMY is a down the road candidate on the drop in class. I would be surprised if he didn’t quarter move to the front. (8) CRUISE HANOVER got JR Plante’s nod which probably means he’ll be firing off the gate. He’s shown staying power in the past when sitting up close. (3) BOLD SPIRIT is fast enough to get the job done here, but has been doing a bit of money burning. I’ll side against. (4) WRY has been racing from off the pace lately, but is a horse that usually needs a lot to go his way no matter what trip he gets. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $28,000 (OS $33,750) LIFETIME. (7) P L SAPPHIRE can be excused for her early break last week, for now. I would look for an aggressive steer and strong rebound. (6) P L STEVIE has been put in play and looking like a filly that is continuing to improve. She comes off a solid win and could repeat. (5) ARTFUL DODGER rebounded well against similar company last time out. This race could set up very logically and potentially end up as a merry-go-round. (3) FRENCHMONI HANOVER is a step below these in terms of consistency. She is racing good enough to hit the ticket. Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $82,500) LIFETIME. (1) LMC WAGON WHEEL could only manage third last time out, but raced well considering he was decently off the pace. He was aggressively handled in the last condition between Golds, and I think that happens again. (10) RIGHT HERE HANOVER will need to be used in some capacity from this post to have any chance. Past trips haven’t set up for him, but he could pass plenty of rivals in the stretch. (6) BRIGHT GREEN held on for a win in his latest. If aggressively handled again, I think he’ll be hanging on to try and hit the board. (7) SOUTHWIND CASPIAN doesn’t have the same top speed that some of these others do, but he can still land on the ticket. Race 6: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. (5) DIRTY LIL PIGLET will be on the lead and trying to fend off everyone’s attacks late. I’ll give him the slight nod. (10) B STONEY was impressive in defeat last week but the challenge gets one post harder now. Interested to see what value he provides, if any. (7) STASH IT AWAY was dead game on the lead last week and hasn’t missed the board in a while. These top three are racing extremely well right now. (8) CENTURY INSPECTOR was right there at the line but had to settle for fifth. I would expect a more conservative steer this time. Race 7: MILLARD FARMS: 2 YEAR OLD TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS. LEG 2. (10) GREENARROW HANOVER was charging down the two-path but couldn’t quite catch the well rated winner. I think he will improve tonight and overcome the post ten draw. (1) HALTON HILL is logical after his dominant score in leg one. He will likely be looking to rate up top. (2) CAPTAIN CODE raced well in defeat behind a horse who is shipping to the states and trying Kentucky Sire Stakes on the same day. He should be in close proximity at the finish. (6) CLASSIFIED trotted home well after a slow pace developed in front of him. He will need to show more. Race 8: POP UP SERIES FINAL: NW $25,000 (F&M $31,250) IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. (3) PHOENIX just missed in leg two when charging at the leaders. He is one of a few logical contenders in this final. (2) DEVILS ARCH provided excellent value when he got up in the final strides. He is more trip dependent in my opinion, but could find a spot up close. (4) WHAT ABOUT ELMO is a horse you could key underneath at this point, though the driver change to J-Mac has me intrigued. There could be setup possibility with the amount of potential early speed, but the 0-for-12 looms. (9) SPARKS FLY has no choice but to leave from this post. He will likely need more on the end of the mile. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: PREFERRED. (5) OSCEOLA has proven himself with these horses in the past and comes off a strong effort where he just got up to win. He will breakthrough at this top level soon. (4) FASHION FRENZIE was put on the point and that was that. He is slowly becoming the new horse to beat of this group, which will be cemented if he wins again. (3) GAINES HANOVER just isn’t as sharp right now, but that doesn’t mean he can’t work out a good trip and hit the board. (1) AMIGO VOLO returns to Mohawk after some time in the states. He has not looked his best, but could slot right back in at this level. I’ll wait and see. Race 10: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: GRASSROOTS STARTERS. AE: NW $10,250 LIFETIME (W-ALL). (6) DAX SEELSTER had no chance in last week’s Gold when getting away well off the pace. Look for a much improved effort tonight. (2) BRINDLE has done nothing wrong and should prove tough again this week. (3) SPEAKSOFTLYTOME was battling in the late stages and just missed. He can continue to improve. (9) TWIN B STANLEY got the job done last time out but now draws poorly. I wonder how aggressively handled he will be. (5) NO WAITLIST has been pacing fast miles, but I think the last two are products of the trip. I’ll slot him in to complete the Hi-5.
