Late Pick-5: 2/2/7/2,4,6/3,4,5 $1.80
Race 1: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $34,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YO FM N/A $3,965 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW $3,500 IN 2026.
(5) GO ROSSCO draws well again and could get a forward trip this week. That could push him over the top in tonight’s opener. (3) RONDA MAY K tripped out two back and has the gate speed to work out a similar trip tonight. (2) SOCIAL WIZARD got picked off by Ronda May K in that race and also comes out of a lackluster performance in a Gold. Lines up pretty logically on paper.

Race 2: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $6,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.
(4) MUKTUK ANNIE had a tough trip at Grand River but was very sharp prior to that. J-Mac gives her the nod and should put her in play. (5) THE DIVINE MISS M doesn’t win much but was a good second last week and draws well tonight. (2) FIRE SHINE is a grinder who has been waiting for the perfect setup. She has been close in recent weeks.
Race 3: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(6) CATTLETRACKS has enough speed on both ends of the mile to leave out and likely take these all the way. (5) TOTAL ACCOUNT could have the highest ceiling of anyone in this race, but he’ll have to get away closer to the leaders if he wants to make that middle move stick. (1) SLICK DRAW is progressing nicely and should show more in his career debut.
Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(8) BROADWAY STAR was a sharp second the other night and will likely be looking to push off the car again. (1) DOUNEEDTHEMACHINE comes off an upset win at Kawartha and looms as a bit of an unknown when debuting on the bigger track. If her grinding move sticks, she could be dangerous. (3) IN SESSION has the gate speed to secure a good trip, but she has yet to finish it off and break her maiden.
Race 5: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS STARTERS FOR NW $15,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: PROSPECT STARTERS.
(4) LOOK A DIAMOND made a big time blitz to get to the lead and held off the new pocket sitter who got to the outside. She likely tries to avoid taking all of that air tonight. (5) PRESS ON BALLYKEEL is better when she is handled aggressively. I think that trip comes with tonight’s improved draw. (10) INTEL QUEEN was better in her latest but has to navigate the high draw this week. She may look to pass horses late and land on the ticket.
Race 6: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(2) HAMILTON HANOVER looms large after flashing a big kick in each of his first two career starts. He’ll be tough to catch. (3) CALMBEFORESTORM finds an easier field tonight and should use some early speed to secure himself a good trip. (8) MARK THE MECHANIC was a good third in his latest but will likely have to blast early against a couple of faster colts. He’ll need to bring his best.
Race 7: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.
(2) L A CAPTAIN should provide a big challenge to the rest of these given the kick he has shown. He held his own against the Doc Moore duo last week. (6) WHEELS UP went too quick to the half and faded back in last week’s non-betting race. I still think his raw speed can carry him a long way, and he finds an easier field. (1) BILLY HILL made a brief miscue down the backstretch that took him out of contention. He has plenty of speed, but needs to put it all together.
Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $70,000) LIFETIME.
(7) CAPTAIN NATHAN was vicious in his latest and should have plenty to offer against the next class on the ladder. (6) YANKEE BOOST just missed as a big favorite in his latest. He draws well tonight and should be forwardly placed. (2) KAYLAS INCHARGE could be the beneficiary if others mix it up, or if she latches on to a live Captain Nathan helmet. I don’t expect her to get away too quickly.

Race 9: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $10,500 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $10,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW OF A RACE LAST 10.
(6) VELA LUKA was better in his latest and is the horse with the most raw speed in my opinion. It’s just a matter of harnessing it. (4) OVER BET has been pacing good miles but is usually taking way too much win money every week. I’ll pass again on top. (2) SWEET N DEADLY has done little wrong so far in his career and looms as an interesting newcomer in this spot.
Race 10: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $34,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YO FM N/A $3,965 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW $3,500 IN 2026.
(5) BARBARA MAY set a new career best in her latest and gets to work from the exact same post tonight. I’ll give her the nod to repeat. (4) LO AND BEHOLD tends to bring her best for the Golds. She doesn’t need to win here, but this isn’t the toughest field. Average it out, and this is what you get. (3) SOUTHWIND FLORENCE took plenty of support against Barbara May but was too far back to make her middle move stick. A better trip could see her in the mix.
