Top barn moves horses forward. (3) ONE NIGHT IN PARIS is a well-bred daughter of Kadabra with a single prep for Steacy. Better post for debut. (8) C KAN TROT has experience with two starts, improved in latest on 7/6. Odds likely shorter now.

Race 2: OSS GRASSROOTS Leg 1 2 YO FILLY TROT

(1) TEQUILA SUNSET won well 6/27 when jumping out early and never being threatened. Another prep 7/7 sets her up well vs these. (2) KARENS DREAM was bet to 5.8-1 on debut and flashed speed. Another wide post 7/6 proved difficult. Better here. (4) ITDONTMATTERTOME improved greatly in second prep for sharp connections. Looks ready for debut. (7) HER CURRENCY grabbed a check on debut in fast race. Will be closing late.

Race 3: GRASSROOTS STARTERS IN 2023 3 YO FILLY PACE

(3) SUNBURNT outraced odds in latest with her typical 27/2 kick. Needs to time her move but is capable with main rival (9) CENTURY JAMILA drawing wide. She couldn’t be any sharper with five straight exacta finishes. Win streak ended 7/7. (1) SWEETEST BELLE is an effective closer that draws inside. Was too far back in last but kicked 26/4 late. (7) PROVE EM WRONG had trouble 7/7 vs a tough group. Two and four back lines were game wins.

Race 4: OSS GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2 YO FILLY TROT - PICK 4

(1) TEA LAKE left from nine hole on debut after quick qualifying win 6/23. Should be up close again despite rail, and improve second out. (3) R LIZA qualified quick 7/11 for sharp barn. Should give chalk a tussle early and late. (8) GAMING QUEEN was 4-1 second out and was driven for speed. Post could change tactics given the speed signed up inside. (7) SHETROTSALOT debuts for Walker with Henry driving. Not much to be discerned from preps but barn is reliable with babies.

Race 5: 5 YO and Younger NW 2 but NM than 4 Races or $45000 Life Opt CLM 50k

Tough Race. (9) SAUNDRA is intriguing third back coming out of a fast race vs sharp winner. She's made 277k lifetime. (2) UNBEATABLE KEMP just kicked 27/3 to beat these types 7/10. Repeat makes him very tough, just doesn't win much. (10) WARRAWEE YANG has talent and is getting consistent checks at this level. Post is hard to overcome here on the trot. (3) HANDSOME SEBASTIAN usually outraces odds depending on trip. Hard to know tactics here.

Race 6: OSS GRASSROOTS LEG 1 2 YO FILLY TROT - PICK 5

(2) BEACH BANK has shown flashes of ability in two qualifiers for Bax but needs to put it all together in debut. (8) ABIKADABRA has two qualifiers with the same time but the second was more professional. High percentage connections can get one ready. (7) WEST RIVER IVORY tried the front on debut but tired at short odds. Likely to be bet again but needs more. (1) MELISSAS DAY took money on debut despite marginal qualifiers. Early bust there, ships back to big track looking to stay flat.

Race 7: GRASSROOTS STARTERS IN 2023 3 YO FILLY PACE

(4) TWIN B ECHO was put up in last after trouble. Prior two lines she went 51/1. Should get an up close trip again and get the jump. (6) TESLA POWER finally draws a mid back post looking to setup her kick. Speed to chase and price make her use in multis. (2) TWIN DELIGHT certainly takes action every week and is around it. Best races have come on the front but looks to face pressure now. (5) IMA DOLL was sharp in KIN at Clinton. She won't get the same trip vs these. Needs a change in tactics.

Race 8: Fillies and Mares 5 YO and Younger NW 2 Races or $30,000 Life - PICK 4

(2) ALL OF ME has improved rapidly in last three. Speed at both ends should get her another win. (7) DUCHENNE has shown ability and a kick here in the past. Trouble in latest but came home fast. (8) HORIZONTAL gets a trainer switch to start the season after finishing in Crown last year. Preps say she's ready, post could hinder chances vs choice. (3) TWIST LITTLE GIRL took $ 7/7 for Auciello and raced even. Could improve now second up.

Race 9: Winners of 4 but NM than 6 Races or $80000 Life AE: 4 & 5 YO Claiming $60,000 Trot

(4) MRMAYOR HANOVER has raced like a horse that needs Lasix in last two and now gets it. Speed to control here vs rally types. (6) MISCHEVIOUS ROSE has found a home at this level but failed at micro price in latest. What trip does she get here? (5) BELLA CAVALLA is right there every week. Lost to sharp three year old in latest. (1) GRATEFUL has talent from off the pace just needs a trip to grab a share vs these.

Race 10: NW $4,100 Last 5 starts. AE: Not Avg $1,100 PS in 2023 AE: NW of a race last 8 starts

(3) FLYINGEVENBETTOR wins off these kinds of drops and Mcnair signs up. Down the road-type trip coming. (5) WIND BLOWN gets a big drop and a post switch. He left 7/1 but tired. It's these two up top here. (4) GOING FAST gets a setup to grab his usual share. Two back line in fast race is a good measure of ability. (2) MAJOR HILL has won fourteen races the past two years. Recent lines are solid.

Race 11: Horses that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in one of last four starts.

(1) BOLT POWER gets big track and away from sharp foe. I think he's in the mix early here and a solid price. (10) BAYFIELD BEACH returns to favorite surface looking to find form. Was racing well vs tougher earlier this year. (8) NIGHT SHADOW's last two play very well vs these. Kicked 26/1 on 7/3 at huge odds. (7) WOODMERE FENN produced big kicks in the past here but needs a wake up. (3) HESINCONTROL has the speed and the class, but when trainer drives it usually signals he needs a race.
