Woodbine Mohawk Park: Analysis for Monday 6/8

Kevin Plowcha|Jun 05, 2026
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Top Pick Stats: 296/918 (-$386.20)

Best Bets: 36/83 (-$19.40); Spot Plays: 19/85 (-$56.50)

Best Bet: EDWIN HANOVER (Race 9)

Spot Play: TRIX UP MY SLEEVE (Race 1)

Early Pick-5: 2/3,5/2,5/2,3,7/4,5 $4.80

Late Pick-5: 4,10/4,6,7/4,6/9/5,6,9 $7.20

Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (FM 4) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $72,000) LIFETIME.

(2) TRIX UP MY SLEEVE has more than enough ability to win against this group, but remains a question mark after miscues plagued him in PA. His return qualifier was excellent and highlights what he has. (3) ULTRA MYLES had no chance in his latest from an outside post. Prior to that, he had been improving with each start. An aggressive steer can see him return to form. (7) VALIDUS tripped out to win in her latest. She has the versatility to work into the race with any trip.

Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(3) IN SESSION extended her lead down the backstretch, but it was slightly too much in her return and she was tracked down in the stretch. It still was a good mile that she can improve on. (5) ARKONA SEELSTER will likely be trying to trip out behind In Session. She has shown good speed on both ends of the mile. (2) HP SOPHIA spoiled any chance when she made a miscue near the final turn. A rebound is likely if she minds her manners.

Race 3: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $45,500) LIFETIME.

(5) KAYLAS INCHARGE showed some potential on the bigger track but was out of position. I can see some gate speed being used this week. (2) WALNERS GROVE finished just behind my top pick and suffered the same fate of being out of position. She has some potential as well. (7) LO AND BEHOLD takes a big drop from stakes company and should be right in the mix. She could take advantage if the early speed types mix it up.

Race 4: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $91,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,430 P/S IN 2025-26. AE: NW $1,850 LAST 4.

(3) BUDDYVILLE has been knocking on the door and showed a ton of late kick two starts ago. I think he can get his first win of the year. (7) COASTLINE was a good second in his latest and is stamping himself as a major threat in the Mohawk claiming ranks. (2) VOLCANIC has been holding his form in recent weeks, though the wins haven’t continued. He should be right there again.

Race 5: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $8,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: N/A $1,395 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 6 STARTS). AE: N/W $1,000 IN 2026.

(5) DAFFY HANOVER gets another try after a good second in her latest. She tried a first over move on a night where the track was favoring early speed types. (4) BODELICIOUS is third back now after an improved effort. Another step forward can see him even closer to a win. (9) SOUTHWIND RUSSIAN is also third back but will be closing from last, or close to it. He needs rivals to mix it up like they did last week.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(10) SOLO TO LEXINGTON took over a month off after her first race of the season, leaving me to ponder what her schedule will be this year. Regardless, last week’s qualifier was good. I’ll look for her to pick up where she left off. (4) SMORGASTARTA trotted a strong final half in her Mohawk debut and appears to have some potential. A better draw certainly helps her chances. (3) JUST ALL OUT raced well in her first Mohawk start of the season before an even third in the Prospect series. A mid pack trip and closing for a piece seems likely.

Race 7: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $45,500) LIFETIME.

(7) CANUKEEPASECRET looks like a filly who can hang at this level, especially after her latest where she tracked the whole way and finished a good third. I’ll give her the nod. (6) RONDA MAY K gets back against fillies and mares after faltering badly in her latest. I would expect her to rebound. (4) TAHONTA adds Lasix after another decent finish at this level. She has been consistent and should be right there again.

Race 8: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES.

(4) STONEBRIDGE WINGS was a sharp second in his career debut and is likely to build on that effort tonight. I trust J-Mac to have him placed correctly. (6) NOTATTHETABLCARLOS tried the front last week but it was not to be. I would expect him to revert back to his off the pace ways. (1) UP TO NO GOUDA was heavily supported from the high draw in his latest. Everyone is aware of the ability he has, but his quirks continue to loom.

Race 9: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 3 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $2,500 L4.

(9) EDWIN HANOVER was an excellent second in his seasonal debut. His price is gone, but he has a major chance. (6) COLD CREEK NACHO has showcased strong final quarters at Mohawk in the past. The outside flow is likely to be strong in this race. (5) WICKED WANKS has enough gate speed to get him a stalking trip. He has decent speed on both ends of the mile.

Race 10: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME.

(9) DUSTY ROADS took a big step forward in his second start back when given an aggressive steer. Another forward trip is likely tonight. (6) MAIZE AND BLUE has been in the mix in all three starts this year but has been a victim of outside trips. If he lands a pocket trip, he could be dangerous. (5) P L TALLADEGA held his own in Grassroots competition last week and draws well tonight. Ratchford should have plenty of options at the start.
