(7) DEVILS ARCH made a break at the start in his latest against tougher. Can bounce back with a big effort if he minds his manners. (8) EDEN ONTHEHILL was in too tough in his last three tries and still held his own. He’ll have every chance to get the job done here. (1) CRYSTAL BALLER got nipped at the wire in his latest after tiring. (3) BACKUP PLAN rebounded in a big way to break his maiden after popping a tire in his debut. He can build off that effort and is my top choice. (5) THE WRITER was strong in defeat to the choice in what was a quick mile. He’s likely the biggest threat to the one above. (2) IM A PAPI HANOVER finished up nicely to round out the super in his latest. With an inside draw, he will be able to work out a more favourable trip. (4) MYTIMETODANCE is coming in off back-to-back victories, but I only like him for a share here.   Race 4: NW $6,000 LAST 5 OR NW $12,000 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: N/A $1,740 P/S IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). (7) PHOENIX hasn’t hit the board over his last two tries but takes a dip in class while reuniting with Bob McClure here. He should be tough to beat if he works out a favorable trip. (2) MYSTIC ships in from tries at Rideau Carleton and will now debut for trainer Kyle Fellows. This is one I am intrigued by. (3) SOUTHWIND DOMINO left out hard and took a shuffle, got out late and showed trot in latest. This is Jody’s choice over another rival, and he merits respect. (5) SPARKS FLY disappointed as the choice in his latest, he didn’t have much to offer but hit the ticket here.  Race 5: NW $6,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $30,000. AE: NW $34,000 IN 2025. (1) TIGANELLO never saw a set of pylons in the teeth of some blistering panels. Can bounce back with an improved showing with a much easier trip. (2) ILIKEMEBETTOR A takes a dip back to a class where he was second two starts back. He was Jim’s choice over another contender and will be given every chance. (6) DIRTY LIL PIGLET was flat in his latest after a career best mile, he has a more favorable draw and picks up driver Doug McNair. It should be all systems go. (4) STASH IT AWAY was a distant second to a determined rival despite a perfect trip. He will be given every chance to hit the ticket here.  Race 6: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. (2) BE PERFECT BG is coming off a winning effort at 3R in her career debut and will ship to Ontario to try the big track here. She will race under the care of Tony Beaton and can double up. (3) RIDIN THE RODEO is coming off a winning qualifier in her most recent prep. She draws inside and is good enough to win at first asking. (7) RED BEACH ONE is coming off a lone qualifier where she was 2nd. She was solid in that effort and can grab a share in debut here. (5) D A BLACK BEAUTY comes off a pair of qualifying tries and should have every opportunity to secure a share.  Race 7: NW $3,800 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $15,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,025 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). (8) ULYSSES worked out a perfect trip in his latest and was a narrow fourth. James MacDonald will be aboard and can take another step forward on the big track. (7) FOREFATHER was airborne late and just missed to the favourite in that event. He will need speed to chase and will tough to fend off with a set up. (6) BOOMING ECONOMY never got a chance to get involved in his latest for a minor share. He draws well enough to be a factor here. (4) LETS GET ROCKED hit the board in his latest and can grab a minor share here.  Race 8: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION: NW $30,000 (F&M $37,500) IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. (7) MARKET BANKER was aggressively handled off the gate and elected to stay in. He will compete in this pop-up consolation and will have every chance against this group. (4) ESPLOSIONE was never a factor in his first pari-mutuel start since 3/25. He can beat this group when he is at his best and should benefit from a start under his belt. (1) COLD SNAPS flashed some trot in her latest and stayed to task with the addition of trotting hopples. She can close for a piece if she stays to task. (2) DAHLQUIST HANOVER came to a walk after a speed try, better suited with a target to chase. (6) LOGAN PARK will make his first start back in Ontario after competing at the Elitloppet. He is coming off a winning qualifier in preparation for this event and shows up back on Lasix. Top Call. (4) FASHION FRENZIE is coming in off a track record performance, he missed close to a month coming into that start. He should be even tighter here. Contender. (5) GAINES HANOVER was third behind the one above. He is a main contender if he works out a more favorable trip. (1) GHOSTLY CASPER is coming in off a win, but this group is a lot tougher. He can grab a share.  Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: NW $30,000 (F&M $37,500) IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,000 OR LESS IN LAST START. (4) MISTER MAGIC failed to hit the board at his latest but was locked in behind a wall of rivals and appeared to have trot. He draws better than the one to beat and I hope he can work out a better trip as a result. (1) WILLOWTIME is looking for a sweep in this Pop-Up Series, he is undoubtedly the one to beat. However, he draws the rail and could be susceptible to getting away in a bad spot because of it. (6) NO ANGEL LIKE ME has been no worse than second in his last three tries. He is razor sharp and is a threat under the right circumstances. (10) RICKY RESOLVE was a strong second in his latest despite drawing outside. He draws similar here and is likely up against it as a result. (2) YANK MY HALO finished third in his latest and will have every chance to be somewhere on the ticket.
