(4) DERF HANOVER shoots for the threepeat and his 27 4/5 kicker last week underscores how sharp he is right now. Top call in the opener. (8) ALL WRAPPED UP gets Roy back and I could see him working out a pocket trip following the choice. That makes him a threat; using. (7) KAMERAN HANOVER is in solid form now and he could get a setup here. He is the third one that I'll use in the Pick 5. (6) O NARUTAC PERFETTO trotted a big mile in defeat last time but that wasn't a particularly strong NW $4K L5 field. I see him rallying from the back for a share.

Race 2: CLM HDCP $17,000 to $22,000

(8) SKYLAR is just too sharp for these right now and he goes for Barrington off the claim now. Catch him to greet the cashier. (5) MERCENARY has done well after being claimed by Waxman, and he is the main threat to the choice here, if there is one. (2) A BOY NAMED SUUZZ was a distant 2nd to the choice last week. He should be part of the Tri again. (6) TUF COOPER will likely close for another small share in this spot.

Race 3: NW $4,100 L5 or $8,700 L10 AE: OPT CLM $20,000

(1) VICTOR INVICTUS trotted a sub-55 back 1/2 last week so he is clearly sharp. I'll give him the nod over some suspect droppers. (8) ITSTIMETOGOHOME fits great on the drop, and he will get more aggressive, but he is also 1 for 2023 so far, so I'm not sure how low of a price I would take. (7) SERENITY CRUISE has a similar profile dropping to a logical spot and she is another that can win here. (2) HESOHOT HANOVER can close for a slice if he gets a reasonable trip.

Race 4: NW $15,500 L5 AE: NW9 or $110,000 LT - Pick 4

(5) WARRAWEE XALT attracted a $50K claim last week and he gets sent out by the top barn now. He is the one to beat. (3) ESPLOSIONE was no match for mighty Pemberton last week, but no one was. He should be a threat vs. these; using. (8) WALKONTHEMOON will likely blast for position and stick around for a share. (7) GOLD EDITION raced well in defeat last week and he should be in the exotics mix again.

Race 5: CLM HDCP $12,000 to $16,000

(2) CORTEZ THE KILLER took heavy action racing off the claim and getting the leading driver last week and J Mac found the winning trip. The pace and trip scenario seem to favor him again tonight and he gets the call to repeat. (4) BETTOR NOTBITTER A has been in the exacta in seven straight starts and that streak can continue here. (1) ROYAL RENEGADE has the lead at the 3/4 pole in every race and he will likely be the one to catch here too in a good betting race. (7) WINDSONG GRAYSON paced a big back 1/2 last week and he should close for a share here.

Race 6: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L4 AE: NW $5K L5 - Pick 5

I don’t have much doubt that (4) OKEANOS beats these if he stays flat. His 26 2/5 kicker shows he is ready to roll, he just needs to behave. (5) COOL CLIFFORD is sharp, and he is the most likely alternative to the choice. (3) SHES BEER LEAGUE is in great form, and she will likely sit a trip and land another share here. (6) DEALIN WITH DEWEY is another that is in good form that is more likely to take a slice than a win.

Race 7: NW $4,850 L5 AE: NW $16,500 in 2023 - Pick 4

(9) MAJOR HILL should race much closer to the front taking a big drop tonight and he is the one to beat. (4) MR BEAST produced a nice late kick racing a class higher last week and he should be a threat here. (1) HUNTER HILL is another whose kick should play well here with him getting some post relief. (8) PIRATE HANOVER is another that should improve on the drop, but I prefer to use him underneath.

Race 8: Winners of 3 (F&M5) but not more than 6 (F&M7) or $80,000 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO to be claimed for $60,000

Leading driver Macdonald picks up live (4) MRMAYOR HANOVER with McClure opting for sharp (6) CHOCOLATE PARFAIT here. I'll split hairs with the former as the top pick based on how he won his last two starts, but either can win. (2) SAFE CONDUCT beat Oney Hall two starts back so you know he fits here. He races better off a helmet and I think he will look to trip out tonight. He could do with the right trip. (5) SHESTHELUCKYONE will likely rally late for another small share.

Race 9: PREFERRED 2

(3) PEMBERTON produced a final 1/4 kick last week that defies superlatives. He's back, and that's bad news for his rivals in this division for the rest of the summer probably. (2) PATRIARCH HANOVER drops, and he will likely be the one to catch here. He is the logical alternative to the choice. (4) H P MAMA B was in against the best mares but facing a rejuvenated Pemberton is no picnic, either. I'll use her underneath. (6) LOCATELLI should be good for a small share in this spot.

Race 10: NW $1,500 L3

Droppers (10) CURIOUS CORTEZ and (9) WOODMERE FENN look best here. Nod goes to the former who has more gate speed than the former and should have advantageous positioning throughout the mile. (8) FOREFATHER wasn't beaten far in a fast mile considering how long he was parked. He's another in with a chance. (6) LOVEMYROCKINBIRD will likely blast for position and take a small share tonight. (3) J M JACK OF HEARTS is another that will probably look to sit a trip and rally for a small slice.
