Woodbine Mohawk Park: Analysis for Monday 6/15

Kevin Plowcha|Jun 12, 2026
Mohawk Logo 1.5

Top Pick Stats: 308/962 (-$426.90)

Best Bets: 37/86 (-$20.60); Spot Plays: 19/89 (-$64.50)

Best Bet: WALNERS GROVE (Race 5)

Spot Play: CAPTAIN NATHAN (Race 7)

Early Pick-5: 6,7/7/2,7,9/4,7/5 $2.40

Late Pick-5: 1,4/1/4,5/4/7,9 $1.60

Race 1: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLDS N/A $990 P/S IN 2025-26.

(6) VELA LUKA has looked very good in the mornings and looks like a colt that should control the race on debut if he’s ready. (7) AMERICAN ROAD TRIP was a good second last week. It looks like he unlocked a little more with Lasix added. I see him getting another good trip. (8) DRIVE FOR SHOW held to be a decent third last week, but I think that’s his ceiling until proven otherwise. Against this group, at least.

Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000.

(7) STICKEMINLETHIMGO drops back to the level where he was showing excellent form. His sharp speed on both ends of the mile should prove best against these. (3) MAKEMEALEGEND was given a good trip off the claim and wound up pouncing as the odds-on favorite. Not a price I would’ve taken for a horse that just broke its seasonal maiden, but I digress. A similar mile should have him in the mix. (6) BETTOR B GOING can be forgiven for his latest but needs to get back to form in a hurry if he wants to beat these.

Race 3: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $7,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(7) ACEFORTYFOUR DAISY has recent Mohawk form that would allow her to cruise against these. I really liked her effort two starts ago where she finished second. That middle move has been sustained on the bigger track before. (2) SOLIDAZABRICKHOUSE has been better in her last two efforts. If she finds a live helmet, she could be dangerous. (9) KELLYS CHASE is third back in the form cycle after two off the pace tries. She could mix things up this week and go forward.

Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $500 LAST 4 STARTS.

(7) ERINWOOD PEACE OUT proved in his second career start before shipping to Kawartha and winning at a short price. J-Mac might drag his price down, but a step forward from the June 1 mile gives him a big chance. (4) SMORGASTARTA didn’t lose much stock in defeat last week, in my opinion, and draws well again in her third start back. (5) IN SESSION is also third back after two decent efforts and is likely to get away in the top three. A logical use on most tickets in this spot.

Race 5: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $30,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $1,500 LAST 4 STARTS.

(5) WALNERS GROVE followed cover nicely when it was provided and put together an all-around strong effort in her latest. I think she gets the job done tonight. (2) NOTATTHETABLCARLOS was given another forward trip and took advantage. A similar mile should see him in the mix. (7) CAPTAIN CODE wasn’t at his best in his return and I think he might be out of position again. I’ll look for him to get a piece.

Race 6: HORSES & GELDINGS STARTERS FOR A PURSE OF $12,500 OR LESS IN LAST 3 STARTS.

(1) BLUE BAR got a confidence boosting win in his latest and just sneaks into this class given the condition. He should prove to be tough here. (4) P L OZZY pulled off a gigantic upset two starts ago and snuck down to Kawartha for a free paycheck in his latest, but his past volatility is keeping me from putting him on top. (9) MIRACULOUS DESBI N has come up short while heavily favored in his last two efforts and now has to navigate the high draw. Roy should get enough out of him, but I think it will be for a piece.

Race 7: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 4) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $30,000) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $1,500 LAST 4 STARTS.

(1) CAPTAIN NATHAN makes his second start on Lasix and gets a major post switch. I thought of him as a contender in his Goodtimes elim, but he never got involved. (2) MAIZE AND BLUE finally broke through last week after multiple moves from up close. I would look for similar tactics tonight. (6) FOURTH GEAR nearly pulled off a big upset in his latest. That was a dimension that I didn’t know he had, and he brought it out against Grassroots company. I would look for him to be in the mix no matter the trip.

Race 8: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. AE: 3 YR OLDS NW $500 LAST 4 STARTS.

(5) UP TO NO GOUDA was given the green light in his latest and trotted potentially the best mile of his career. This could be the week he finally puts it all together. (4) SOLO TO LEXINGTON gets a major post switch and should be tighter second back. I’ll finally get off her bandwagon, which means she’ll probably win. (1) STONEBRIDGE WINGS should team up perfectly with McClure if he tries another mid-pack trip. He could easily get the job done with the right setup.

Race 9: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $7,000 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE.

(4) TELLIT RUSS TELLIT gets a double drop in class and is likely to try and pace these off their feet. If he falters, it opens up completely. (5) ROYAL JK wasn’t caught up in the early mess last week and still got a check. I think J-Mac will look to race him off a helmet if one is available. (2) TROUBLEWITHTHECURV posted some decent miles in his last few Mohawk tries and could take advantage if some hot fractions are set. Just an underneath type for me tonight.

Race 10: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $77,000 (OS $75,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,510 IN 2025-26.

(7) COASTLINE had a tough trip last week when having to make two moves and could be forgotten about because of the fifth-place finish. I’ll give him the nod in a class where horses haven’t exactly been keen to repeat. (9) BOOTHILL HUDY was able to find a way to the outside two starts ago and got up for the win. He was out of position at Grand River but still hit the board. His form is strong. (8) CATITUDE has found his way onto the ticket for many starts in a row but needs things to work in his favor if he wants to challenge for the win in my opinion.
