He gets top billing in the opener. (5) MACH ART IN MOTION paced a sub-27 kicker despite being hung out the mile. He can be right there with a better trip. (2) MILITARY SECRET raced well off the claim, and he can get another good trip and land in the Tri. (1) MR BEAST was first up against Royal Regatta who was winning his ninth in a row and that tactic wasn’t going to work. He has a better chance tonight. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: PREFERRED (5) LOGAN PARK comes off a tremendous 2023 season and he was a winner first time out last year so I’m not too worried about him needing one; top call. (2) AMIGO VOLO has won five in a row at this level, and he is the obvious one to beat. (6) PATRIARCH HANOVER is on the rise lately, but this is a tough assignment, and he is likely best used underneath. (3) PEMBERTON will likely close for another share here. Race 3: CLM HDCP $19,000 to $24,000 (5) BETTORHOLDONTIGHT draws better here, and he can lay closer to the front. He can pass for the win if he is in striking range. (6) CAPT JACK HANOVER drops back down to the level where he races best, and he will probably be the one to catch here; using. (4) LETS GET PICKLED races off the McQueen claim after getting a tough trip. He is worth a look here. (3) MAINTENANCE MAN tripped out to win last week in his second start since being claimed by Lester. He is another in with a shot in a competitive field. Race 4: NW $8,000 L5 AE: NW 6LT or N/A $1,670 P/S in 2023/2 - Pick 4 (3) ESPLOSIONE took some money in his return race but didn’t show much starting from the outside post. He can be much better here moving inside; top call. (2) KAMERAN HANOVER is another making his second start back that can improve and its interesting that he gets a barn change here; using. (5) EDEN ONTHEHILL raced well when 2nd to a 3 to 5 shot and he is another to consider for early multi-race tickets. (4) CHULO can be better here adding Lasix. I’ll use him underneath. Race 5: Horses that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4 This is a good spot for (7) ACTOR HANOVER, who should get an aggressive steer from Drury. I could see him going right down the road. (5) FOREFATHER exits some tough claimers, and his late kick should play here; using. (1) FULL DISCLOSURE fits okay in this spot but he is an infrequent winner. I’ll play to beat him as the morning line favorite. (3) CHIEF OF STAFF was expected to do well last week, and he threw in a clunker. He can rebound and take a small share tonight. Race 6: NW $14,000 L5 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 or NW $100,000 LT AE: NW1 in 2024 (Min. 10 starts) - Pick 5 (6) DERF HANOVER was a sharp winner last week and I’ll stick with him here looking for a price in a wide-open race. (7) WALKONTHEMOON followed the tripped out pocket sitter last week to get 2nd in an improved effort at a huge price. He should offer another good price here; using. (4) TRUFFLES TOO is an obvious good fit on the drop, but he keeps coming up just short. I’d demand a price here. (3) MRMAYOR HANOVER dropped and popped, and he should be in the exotics mix here stepping back up in class. Race 7: CLM HDCP $14,000 TO $18,000 - Pick 4 (6) CAPTAIN FIREBALL draws best racing off the Barrington claim and he gets the nod in a race with a few options. (3) HIGHLAND BEACH BOY will likely be more aggressive racing off the Waxman claim. He would be no surprise here. (2) ROYAL REGATTA steps up shooting for a 10th straight win racing off the Pereira claim. Win streaks don’t last forever and I’ll play to beat him this week. (7) JJ TOMMY can close for a small share in this spot. Race 8: NW $28,000 L5 (6) PERFETTO is in top form and his trip was just too tough last time. He should get an easier journey here and he will likely be the one to catch when they turn for home. (5) GAINES HANOVER had a decent return race, and this is a good spot for him. He will almost surely be raced more aggressively tonight, and he will likely be second or third choice. (3) LOOKS LIKE MONI. has been sharp in recent races vs. better, and he figures to be right there on the drop, but I wonder if he will get over bet in this spot. (7) DISTANCE LEARNING is having a good season and he should be in the exotics here. I’ll stick with him here. (4) BACKSTREET GAMBLER never really got involved last week when favored on the class drop. He gets Roy now and he will likely get more aggressive; using. (5) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B was okay in his return race, and he should improve tonight. He drew well and he is the other one that I’ll use on late multi-race tickets. (2) ROCKIN N TALKIN returns at a reduced level, but he likely needs to just get around once after breaking twice in qualifiers in April. I’ll use him underneath. Race 10: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or less in 1 of L3 (9) R ROYAL PORT dropped, popped, and took a new life’s mark and he looks good to repeat here. (10) KEVIN ANTHONY keeps racing well and he is a good fit here. Henry, who has been a good partner for him, will put him into play from the widest post; using. (7) JOHNNY BUCKSHOT is hot, winning two straight in London’s top class. He is another in with a decent chance here. (6) RADIO LAB is in easier here and he should be good for a slice. (5) MISTER MAGIC was claimed from Auciello who has always had the key to him. I’d be careful here.
