(8) VALI HANOVER chased down a loose leader which was no easy task on a night where several turned big leads into wins thanks to a wind-created bias. Following a private sale he goes for Moreau here; call to repeat. (7) MYCROWNMYKINGDOM looked like a winner at the head of the lane but he got nailed late by the choice. He should be right there again; using. (1) SOUTHWIND DOMINO was only beaten 7 1/2 lengths in the Mohawk Million after getting hung the mile. He likely has an ambitious campaign plotted out and he is another in with a shot making his first start for a new conditioner. (2) WICKENBURGH will likely sit a trip racing near the front and he should be an exotics factor.

Race 2: NW $20,000 L5 or $30,000 L10 or NW $130,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $60,000

(1) PHOENIX got hung out a long way vs. a tough class-dropping winner and was still beaten less than two lengths. He gets top call here moving inside. (5) ONLY FOR JUSTICE raced well to almost upset while finishing ahead of the choice. He is the one to fear. (7) BUCK DANCER should improve on the class drop but he could get over bet in a spot where he might be third best; your call. (3) MIKEY MASS looks well prepped for this seasonal debut for a barn that sends everything ready. He is in the exotics mix.

Race 3: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(4) DREAMFAIR ARNIE B hasn't lived up to his breeding yet, but he was lightly raced at two, gets a barn change here, and kicked home quickly in his qualifier on 4/22. He looks good here. (5) DUNES BEACH had a 2022 opener which was promising and he should be the main threat tonight; using. (6) HP LIS SHADOW has a strong late kick on his best day and he should be in the exotics mix here. (3) STONEBRIDGE NIKE figures to take another small share in this spot; using underneath.

Race 4: NW $6,000 L5 or $14,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 - Pick 4

(4) CINDY LYNN drops and gets McClure back and that means a big speed try is likely coming tonight; top call. (6) PRINCESSPARTYPANTS should enter contention on the class drop tonight. She's the other one that I'll use on early multi-race tickets. (8) FLY BEYOND has seen better days, but he improved a bit last week while chasing slow fractions; price look. (9) LAZZARO took heavy action last week considering that he had missed more than a month and drew widest. He converted and was claimed off Barrington. I don't think there is even the slightest chance he will see the front in a 29 opening 1/4 again tonight. I'll use him underneath.

Race 5: NW $13,000 L5 or $26,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $45,000

Class dropping (1) COMBS HANOVER and (4) FINAL CLAIM, and (7) FREE WILLY HANOVER will likely battle it out here with not much separating them on paper. I'll give the nod to the former making is third start back after getting a needed clean line last week. I'll use all three on multi-race tickets, however. (6) LIFE IS A FEAST, coming off a strong first-up effort vs. easier, likely sits and rallies for a share this time.

Race 6: NW6 (F&M7) or $85,000 (F&M $100,000) - Pick 5

(5) GOODGOLLYMISSMOLLY is on a big roll that is unlikely to be stopped here but she will be everyone's single at a miniscule price. (3) HESOHOT HANOVER can get a much better trip tonight at a price and spice up the exotics. (2) HONE THE TONE should get another good trip racing near the front and finish in the Tri. (6) L DEES PATRICK could be racing in the choice's pocket most of the way tonight. He’s hard to leave out of Supers.

Race 7: Horses that have started for a purse of $15,000 or Less in 1 of L4

This is a big class drop for (4) NYLANDER who should be tough to beat in this spot. (1) ARRAKIS set solid splits and prevailed last week and he is in peak form right now; the obvious danger. (5) MEADOWBRANCH NOBLE made a wide move on the turn then hung. He can take a share of he times his move better tonight. (6) POWER AND GRACE, trotting queen of the B tracks, has the speed to contend for a share in this spot; using underneath.

Race 8: NW $3,000 L5 or $8,000 L10 - Pick 4

(4) NEVER MIND N raced a bit better last week and he is more than capable of beating these when he is right (see win over much better on 2/28). I'll give him the nod here expecting aggression. (2) DICENTRA makes her second start back since changing hands and she should improve by default facing easier tonight; using. (5) LIFE WELL LIVED was a distant 3rd to a 1 to 5 shot at this level after showing early speed two starts back and he is another in with a chance. (8) SOMBRE is capable at this level but his qualifier doesn’t inspire great confidence. Tab the tote for clues with this one.

Race 9: PREFERRED HANDICAP

Dominating (7) ONEY HALL can probably only beat himself at the moment but he has kept his gait issues at bay for four starts and he is hard to go against considering how good he has been. A fivepeat looms. (6) DREAM NATION is next best in this lineup but his typical style puts him behind the eight ball chasing the choice. He probably completes a tiny Exacta. (4) PIKACHU HANOVER should get a good piece of this racing close to the front throughout. (5) SPARTAN GENERAL should improve enough to be in the exotics mix coming back in seven days this time.

Race 10: CLM HDCP $22,000 to $30,000

(4) CHOREOGRAPHER is developing a strong late kick to go along with his potent gate speed and that makes him a contender every week. Slight nod in a tough race. (1) MACHIN A TRICK almost completed a miracle comeback after breaking early last week. He should be right there if he behaves tonight. (6) JULERICA could move up off the claim here and he is another possibility for late multi-race tickets. (3) LEGAL BETTOR won for Barrington now he moves to Fellows off the claim. I'll use him underneath tonight.

Race 11: Claiming $15,000 for NW $52,000 LT

(5) PERPETUAL ROCK looked good circling up to win when he dropped to this level last week and he gets the call to repeat off that sharp victory. (6) JUST MARVELOUS wasn't far behind the choice in a good effort and he should be the main threat here; using. (4) BAD EYE BILL ships in from Flamboro and the trainer hands the lines to a catch driver for the first time since November of 2021; price look. (2) JUST PLAIN NEEDY was three seconds slower last week which makes you wonder if he left it all out there two starts back when he equalled his life's mark. I'll play to beat him here. (8) DROWNS THE WHISKEY should be good for another small share in this spot.
