Top Pick Stats: 153/531 (-$295.70) Best Bets: 21/48 (-$13.60); Spot Plays: 14/50 (-$21.70) Best Bet: SHERLYN HANOVER (Race 4) Spot Play: FUNNY BUSINESS (Race 7) Early Pick-5: 6,8/3,5/2/6/1,3,8   $2.40 Late Pick-5: 3,4/2/5,6/3,7/1,7   $3.20 Race 1: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (8) FELIX HANOVER was taken back in his first start of the year, but stormed home in the stretch to finish a good second. He looms large unless he takes back to last again. (6) FEEL LIKE A WOMAN has produced two good efforts in the morning after a freshman season that didn’t produce much. The draw favors her here. (5) STEINBECK adds Lasix after showing his versatility in two starts this year. Another step forward puts him right there. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME.  AE: N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2025 OR 2026. (5) DELIGHTFUL YANKEE made her career debut a winning one and appears to have some upside. She is likely to have plenty of supporters again. (3) LOYAL LEO stayed flat last week and got the job done. He had flashed some ability before, but was his own worst enemy. (7) SOUTHWIND MANHATTN also fits into that category, but is likely to be working from off the pace. I can see her getting a piece. Race 3: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $30,000 (OS $37,750) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: NW $5,500 IN 2025-26. (2) TROOPER HANOVER flashed sharp speed as a four-year-old before his season ended in early November. He returns to action after just one qualifier, signaling that he could be ready right away. (8) CUSTARD CRUNCH was in the mix plenty of times last season. He makes his debut for the Cullen barn after one qualifier where he finished behind some classy horses. (3) CATITUDE needs to get just a touch quicker off the car, and he could be right in the mix. He finds a different group tonight, which could mean a different result. Race 4: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) SHERLYN HANOVER spoiled her chances last week with a break in stride. I won’t be quick to dismiss this Greenshoe filly who I thought offered plenty of upside. (4) DULCES SUENOS DEO hasn’t been seen in over a month, but that shouldn’t stop him from getting a patient mid-pack trip and passing a few horses late to potentially land on the ticket. (1) GONE WITH THE WINE was mired towards the back last week. A better start from the rail can see him work off a helmet tonight. Race 5: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $60,000 (OS $78,000) LIFETIME. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. AE: N/A $1,440 P/S IN 2025-26. (1) CHEF gets a chance to team up with Louis Roy after two confidence boosting wins at the B tracks. He is a horse I’ve chased in the past. Old habits die hard, I suppose. (3) VOLCANIC is extremely logical from week to week and comes off his easiest win of the year. (8) MAKEMEALEGEND has the speed to contend with these off the claim, but a quick start is paramount if he wants to mount any kind of late rally. Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. AE: N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2025 OR 2026. (3) GREEN NINETEEN was a strong second in his first start back, in what appeared to be a clear step forward from two to three. Ratchford should have him in a spot to win. (4) CHARLIE CHEEKS was sharp on the lead and held off Green Nineteen. There is a very high likelihood of it lining up 3-4 or 4-3. (5) SILVY looks a touch slower than these, but it’s hard to fault what she’s done in both efforts this year. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,500 LAST 4 STARTS. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (2) FUNNY BUSINESS kicked home well in her first start back at Mohawk. The early speed types aren’t the most consistent; Look for her to take advantage. (3) CATCHMEGRACEFULLY has come up short in her last two efforts around Flamboro, and both were at the shortest of prices. She can get to the lead, but can she finish? (5) ALESSANDRA gets away from some tougher Pop-Up claimers. She is another who could take advantage of some tired horses. Race 8: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME.  AE: N/A $1,500 P/S IN 2025 OR 2026. (5) TOMBOY STRONG gets post relief after not really getting a fair shot at the top two who will square off in race 6. This filly could get Mark Macdonald off the schneid. (6) WOLFPACK CROWN followed up his dominant sophomore debut with another win, which came at this level. He makes a ton of sense here. (2) HERCULES made a strong impression in his five-year-old debut, making multiple moves en route to a win. A step forward can see him right there. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $8,000 FOR NW $5,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR N/A $790 P/S IN 2025-26. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (3) JINGLE INMY POCKET feels like he is sitting on a win at this level after a few better efforts at the B track. The post favors him if he can get away from the car. (7) THE COLT might be a step short considering he hasn’t raced in nearly a month, but I expect him to be positioned well and in a good spot if he is ready. (1) TAP TAP TAP didn’t have much initial luck when shipping from my neck of the woods, but he appeared to find the right level last week. He fits with these horses. Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $7,500. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (MUST RACE IN 2 LEGS TO BE ELIGIBLE TO FINAL). (7) PRETTY MISSY MAY came up a nose short to a mare who was bet like she couldn’t lose. She has been good in this series and should be in a stalking spot. (1) ACEFORTYFOUR DAISY took advantage of the faltering leaders last week and pulled off the slight upset. The rail draw should allow her to save ground early and potentially swoop them again. (4) MY ONLY SUNSHINE was pressured in the middle portion of the race, but still dug in to miss by a neck. She is another contender in this final.
