Top Pick Stats: 186/618 (-$306.80) Best Bets: 25/56 (-$13.70); Spot Plays: 15/58 (-$29.80) Best Bet: STEINBECK (Race 8) Value Play: BELMONT BLAZER (Race 5) Early Pick-5: 6,7,9/2/5/9/3,10   $1.20 Late Pick-5: 5,8/5/7/3,5/1,5,10   $2.40 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 4 RACES OR $52,500 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME. (6) EUROBANK HANOVER has been sharp since returning and looms large again from one of Mohawk’s winningest posts. (7) GREENARROW HANOVER looks ready to roll at three after two winning qualifiers. He held his own in a few top-level stakes last season. (9) UNGAWA showed plenty of punch in his first start back. I expect him to again be passing horses late. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: FILLIES & MARES, 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 RACE (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (2) CUPID HALL stands out given her sharp return qualifier and top-level stakes tries at two. A free square for many in multis. (8) WHT BLONDE HANOVER could be best of the rest at a price given the late punch she flashed at two. I don’t think she’ll be in too big of a hurry off the car. (1) WILD ROSE HANOVER made a strong outside move in her lone morning prep. I can see her building off that effort and getting a piece tonight. Race 3: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (5) WOLVERINE LEGEND is the returner with the most upside in my opinion. He showed a bit more in the morning; I’ll look for him to be forwardly placed. (6) DULCES SUENOS DEO took a step forward in his second start on a regular rotation. Look for him to get back to his board-hitting ways. (2) ICED should improve from his qualifiers, but may need a start or two to really get going. Race 4: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $22,500 (OS $33,500) LIFETIME. (9) FIRST CLASS MASS was regularly seen in top level stakes last year. I think he finds a field that he can trot off their feet in his return. (7) ILL HAVE THE RED flashed plenty of potential at two, including south of the border. She is one who I am excited to see back, and hopefully for an extended campaign. (1) FELIX HANOVER broke his maiden last week with a good effort. He is continuing to improve, but has to navigate a tougher field. Race 5: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX. ENTER IN MULTIPLES OF $1,000. I’ll take a swing with (3) BELMONT BLAZER in a potentially wide-open race. He was better last week and could finally put it all together if he gets the right trip. (10) VOLCANIC continues to be a constant force at this level. We’ll see if the high draw hampers him at all. I think it might, considering the amount of potential speed to his inside. (4) ITS ELECTRIFYING N gets reunited with J-Mac after a week off. I would think some changes were made at the barn, and he should come up with a better effort tonight. Race 6: NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. AE: NW OF 2 RACES IN 2026. (5) CASTEL LINDY trotted a fine mile in his return against the sharp Mr Walner Fashion. I think he steps forward and proves to be a major factor. (8) MISTER MAGIC has been better in his last two efforts and should be able to secure a good trip near the front. (6) JAYPORT CASH looked to get into contention last week but made a miscue. A return to form can see him get a piece. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES NW 2 RACES OR $30,000 (OS $37,500) LIFETIME. (5) MY GHOST was moving best of all once she got to the outside and picked off dueling leaders late. Roy gives her the nod; I’ll do the same. (10) CANUKEEPASECRET looked strong in her lone morning prep. She could stick around for a big piece if forwardly placed from the high draw. (6) SHERLYN HANOVER hasn’t done much wrong in four career starts and should have a good shot to be right in the mix again. Race 8: 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 (WINNERS FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS 2 RACES) RACE OR $9,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (7) STEINBECK took plenty of air last week when trying to wear down Felix Hanover, but had to settle for second. That was a strong mile in his first start on Lasix; Expecting another step forward. (4) GREEN GRASS GROWS appears to have some ability, but is his own worst enemy at times. I’m as curious as anyone if he can build off last week’s effort. (5) SOUTHERN COWBOY is likely to be an underlay given he picks up J-Mac and comes off a blowout win. However, if he is driven with purpose off the car, I might be having second thoughts about putting him so low. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES CLAIMING $8,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. I’ll price shop again with (3) ACEFORTYFOUR DAISY, hoping that this is her week to capitalize on faltering leaders. She showed gate speed four back, so it’s not impossible to think she could pounce from third or fourth. I’ve finally come around on (5) MUCHTOOYOUNGFORYOU who just pulled off an upset in a Pop-Up Series Final. She draws well and looks for three in a row. (8) COOL CUTE COOKIE got a dream trip last week, but now draws outside. She will have to prove me wrong. Race 10: HORSES & GELDINGS CLAIMING $20,000 FOR NW $40,000 LIFETIME OR N/A $765 P/S IN 2025-26. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE. (5) LOCHINVAR AUSSIE went down the road as the new face in town. I’ll look for him to do it again. (1) TH ALLOWMETOLEAD tends to make up solid ground in the back half and will benefit more if rivals outside of him take back. (10) LOUS GAME is the major mystery in this spot. I think he has the speed to go with these, but how hard will he be used in his return from post ten? I’ll take a slight “wait and see” approach with him in the finale.
