(8) GATOR HANOVER was close in defeat at Flamboro Downs on Thursday night and now he gets a driver upgrade to Roy. A big speed try is expected, and he gets the nod. (6) JJ TOMMY is another that raced well in defeat at Flamboro that night and he should get a more aggressive steer from J Mac tonight; using. (1) PARTYINTHESHADOWS has been facing better for many weeks and he almost won at a higher level four starts back. He will likely lay closer to the front tonight and he is another possibility for the early Pick 5. (3) HUNTER HILL disappointed as chalk Thursday night and he is one that I will play to beat as the morning line favorite.

Race 2: Pop-Up series claiming $8,000 1st Leg

(5) ST LADS FLIRT was first up against Brodys Scrapper on Thursday night as that rival was taking his 60th win. That was a tall task and now he gets the first time McNair angle; call to upset. (1) ROYAL REGATTA is in peak form, and he is the obvious one to beat here; using. (2) PROMISE ME A WIN makes his third start since being claimed by Waxman and he raced better last week. He is another in with a shot here. (3) CHOREOGRAPHER is the wild card in here dropping in class but coming in off a lame scratch. I’d need a price here.

Race 3: CLM HDCP $55,000 to $65,000

(7) BUCK DANCER fits this class like a glove, and he is the clear horse to beat again as he seeks a threepeat and fourth win in five starts at this level. (1) DISTANCE LEARNING was the only horse that beat the choice in February, and he has a much better chance tonight getting off post 10; using. (8) G V SWANDERFUH took some action last week and he closed late for 2nd behind the choice. He should close for another slice here. (3) NASEY takes regular shares, and he is a good one to use on the bottom.

Race 4: Pop-Up series claiming $8,000 1st Leg - Pick 4

(8) TOO MUCH DUNCAN has a similar profile as trotter Royal Leaf who moved from Waxman to Polifroni then won two in a row when he got Macdonald in the bike. He could lead all the way here. (6) CAPT JACK HANOVER flashed big speed in his local debut, and I could see him getting the job done here if he sits a trip racing close to the front; using. (2) THE DEVIL YOU KNOW can get position and a trip here and take a share. (1) HELLO ROCKY has had success at this track in the past. He should work his way into the exotics starting from the rail.

Race 5: NW $8,000 L5 or $20,250 AE: NW1 L10

(5) GIGONDAS was an easy winner last time he raced this low four starts back and he is the one to catch and beat here. (8) MACALLAN raced better last week and he is hitting his best stride now. He could add some value to the multi-race tickets. (4) ALL WRAPPED UP was no match for a hot rival that was taking his fourth straight win. He should be an exotics player again. (7) RADIO LAB is another with improving form that is worth a look. His barn has been running well at Mohawk the past few weeks. He can close for another share here.

Race 6: CLM HDCP $10,000 to $12,000 - Pick 5

(7) MACH ART IN MOTION continues to race well and he has been claimed in for straight starts. His big late kick should play well here; top call. (1) UF BETTORS HANOVER is another that is in solid form, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he made an early move in this field that seems devoid of gate speed; using. (5) ISITFRIDAYYET has been racing better lately and he is another that will be passing horses late; using underneath. (4) JITTERBUG FLIP was claimed out of a race where he was first up for a long way. I can see him being an exotics player here.

Race 7: NW $8,000 L5 or $20,250 - Pick 4

(4) IMA STANDUP GUY gets needed post relief here and I can see him laying closer, starting his move earlier, and scoring the upset. (8) WALKONTHEMOON gets off the rail and he should be a speed threat in this spot. He can get brave if left alone on the front. He is on my multi-race tickets. (1) PHEONIX stepped up to this level and raced okay to take a share. He is in the mix here. (2) GRATEFUL will likely sit a trip racing near the front and stay for a share.

Race 8: NW $8,000 L5 or $20,250 AE: NW1 L10

(5) LETS GET ROCKED used (6) SAVOIR DUHARAS as a parked out pick last week and he stole an easy 3/4 then stormed home for the win. I can see these two battling for the win if the latter gets a more alert start and makes front or lands in the pocket early. (2) FEAR THE DICE got the perfect trip but he was never catching the choice who was pacing a 27 1/5 kicker. He is in the exotics mix again racing off the Giles claim. (1) MACHO POLO brings good form in from Flamboro. He can take a slice here.

Race 9: PREFERRED 2

(5) PATRIARCH HANOVER has been racing better recently and I think McNair will look to send him down the road in this small field. (6) PEMBERTON is the obvious class of the field, but with Renaud driving from the widest post, he will likely be asked to pass them all. I’d be careful here. (3) SOUTHWIND ONCORE has been sharp for weeks and he should close to take a good share tonight. (4) LOCATELLI tries hard every week and gets what he can relative to the class he is racing in. Another small share is likely for him here.

Race 10: CLM HDCP $19,000 to $24,000

(2) HES GOT SWAGGER showed a new dimension last week, passing in the lane to get the job done and he beat a very sharp and determined rival that night. I’ll give him the nod over the other hot horse in here, (4) HAPUNA BEACH, but there is very little that separates these two currently. (5) LETS GET PICKLED raced great in defeat and he could be the beneficiary if the top two choices lock horns at some point; using. (10) MASKEDMAN should close for a share despite starting from the widest post. (9) BIG BULLY got stuck behind a staled rival last week, but he is likely to finish on the edges in this field.
