(6) ALL GAS NO BREAKS worked out a nice trip in his latest but didn’t have much to offer. This is a group that hasn’t been super consistent as of late and this might be a good spot for him to find the winner’s circle this evening. (1) NASEY wasn’t a factor despite being bet down as the lukewarm choice. This will be his 2nd start for new trainer Jodie Cullen and he could show improvement here. (2) CENTURY JAGUAR was aggressively handled in his latest and just got picked off by a rival who tripped out. (4) DAHLQUIST HANOVER is coming off a runner-up qualifying effort. He draws well but will likely need a start vs. these.

Race 2: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX.

(2) TANGO SEELSTER took a bit of time to get into gear behind rivals in his latest. He finished up with some pace and could get the best of this short field with the right trip. (5) B STONEY has been tough to beat at this level as of late. He changed up his tactics in his most recent and still scored comfortably. He is the one to beat until further notice. (4) NAZARE hung around for a share in his latest and will have every chance to hit the ticket in a short field. (3) ROCK AND TWIST should appreciate this group much more than the one he took on last time out. He draws well and should be in the mix early.

Race 3: NW $4,000 LAST 5 OR NW $16,500 LAST 10 STARTS.

(4) ETERNALLY HANOVER scored in his latest off a trip. He draws well yet again and he’ll have every opportunity to double up in this spot; top call. (3) THE CANAM BANKER never had a chance to get involved last time out and finished up his mile okay. He draws inside and picks up the services of Trevor Henry, who is familiar sitting behind this guy. He has a chance in what is a wide open race. (2) ESPLOSIONE made a miscue at London in his latest. He reunites with Doug McNair here on the big track and he has the back class to get the best of this field, if on his game. (6) SOUTHWIND DOMINO draws well in this spot off a couple of even efforts at Flamboro. He picks up Louis-Philippe Roy, who had his choice of a few rivals in this spot.

Race 4: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E).

(2) JOKIC ships in from Flamboro off strong efforts. He has been no worse than 2nd over his last few tries, and will get a chance to stretch his legs out on the big track. He has been able to mind his manners for trainer/driver Mark Etsell, and looks poised for a winning effort this evening. (7) BOOMANDBUST was conservatively handled off back-to-back miscues in his starts prior. He finished up to grab a share and looks poised for a more aggressive approach here. (4) VALUABLE MISS was aggressively handled in her latest from the 10 hole but faded towards the back. She draws better and can hit the ticket. (1) COLLECTOR S hasn’t been racing well whatsoever but has the ability to land on the ticket in this spot.

Race 5: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $5,000 LAST 10 STARTS.

(3) CONTROL THE GOLD is coming off a runner-up qualifying effort where he got picked off by a rival who is a fixture in the Preferred. He hooks a group who isn’t racing all that consistent and is one I’ll give the nod off that prep. (5) THRILLING TIMES finished 3rd in his most recent qualifier and will make his 2nd start in 2025. He draws well and will be a win candidate vs. this group if at his best. (6) SOUTHWIND SAMBUCCA never got involved in his most recent effort but was sneaky good in a mile he had no chance in. He draws well and will likely be aggressively handled in this spot; using. (1) MAJOR HILL was aggressively handled in his first start for new trainer Corey Giles. He picks up Doug McNair and can get a good piece with the right trip.

Race 6: NW 3 (OS 5) RACES OR $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME.

(2) PENTELLER HANOVER uncorked a wicked late rally to get up and score in his first start of 2025. He moves up in class this evening but is tough to go against off that effort. (3) MRSTERY DEAL is coming off back-to-back, 2nd-place finishes and draws well again. He should be able to work out another good trip and be in the mix. (8) FABULOUS FREDDIE wasn’t much of a factor in his latest. He retains the service of James MacDonald, who has success sitting behind him in limited tries, but will have to start from the far outside. He can grab a piece. (7) SCINTILLATING TOM has rounded out the superfecta in back-to-back outings; he can do so again here.

Race 7: CLAIMING HANDICAP $18,000 TO $24,000. ALLOWANCES FOR AGE & SEX.

(9) LETS GET ROCKED is coming off two straight victories. He will now race out of the barn for Gary Merner and is tough to go against in this spot. (6) JJ TOMMY has been a runner-up finisher to the one above over its last two outings. He has the post advantage over him in this spot but will have to find a little more to turn the tables on him this evening; he’s a contender. (1) FOREFATHER has rallied nicely at this level the last couple of tries he’s competed here. He’ll have speed to chase and will be a threat if the trip scenario sets up in his favor. (7) MACH IMPACT has hit the board in back-to-back starts and should have every opportunity to land on the ticket here.

Race 8: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E).

(6) MISTER MAGIC was aggressively handled in his latest but faded to 3rd. He has always been in the mix at this level and draws well again; I’ll give him the nod. (5) PESO HANOVER wasn’t much of a factor in his latest from an outside draw. He draws better this evening and was a narrow 2nd two starts back and should be able to work out a favorable trip, making him a threat. (2) DELICIOUSSTONE DK was able to pick off tiring rivals late in the mile to score. He will have plenty of speed to chase here and he can benefit. (4) BUCK DANCER didn’t have much to offer in his latest in his first start back to his regular trainer, Carmen Auciello. He draws well this evening and will be aggressively handled in this spot.

Race 9: NW $14,000 LAST 5 OR NW $25,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: NW $100,000 LIFETIME.

(4) PHOENIX took a shuffle in his latest and angled off the cones late in the mile. He has shown good trot in the late stages over his last few starts and is inching closer to a trip to the winner’s circle. (5) PERFETTO looked incredible in his appearance in post-parade and he sure raced like it. He just got picked off late but put forth one of his best efforts in quite some time; contender. (2) SPARTAN GENERAL rallied nicely late in the mile to score in his latest. He will be tough to fend off if he’s close turning for home and merits respect. (6) MY BUDDY SAM has back-to-back wins and is racing really well. This is a tougher spot tonight but he can grab a good piece.

Race 10: POP UP SERIES FINAL: NW $30,000 (F&M $37,500) IN 2024 (MIN 15 STARTS).

(2) SHADRACK HANOVER is coming off a dominant score in his latest. He has the back class to get the best of this field in what appears to be a two horse affair, and I’ll give him the nod as the one to beat here. (4) MACALLAN has been a winner in the first two legs of this Pop Up Series and will be coming into this final as one of the ones to beat. He will have to do his best to fend off the one above but has the ability to do so; contender. (8) EYES OF JUSTICE has been a runner-up finisher to the one above. It’ll be tough to consider him for anything other than a share this evening. (5) ARRAKIS was a winner in his latest. He does his best work on the engine and draws well enough where he can push out for early positioning, but will be up against it vs. the top foes. (1) ARCHEMIDES was a narrow 2nd place finisher in his latest and should be able to close for a share here.
