(3) P L PHEONIX seemed racy in a few spots during his debut which might have sapped some of his energy once he was allowed to roll. With that experience under his belt, he can improve tonight and he gets top call here. (1) FLIGHT ONEFORTYSIX chased a very sharp winner last time and he wasn't far from getting 2nd while producing a fast kicker. He too should benefit from getting that start in and he should be the main threat here. (4) BELECHICK raced much better last week, finishing ahead of the choice. He is in the exotics mix. (7) MACHALKO is another who can be part of the exotics racing close up most of the way again.

Race 2: NW5 (F&M7) or $80,000 (F&M $100,000) LT

(2) URNTROUBLE HANOVER was really motoring in deep stretch last week, but he simply had too far to come. The short field helps him here and he gets the now. (7) TRUFFLES TOO was set back for going inside pylons in the stretch but he was clearly best regardless. He should be the one to catch again. (3) PHEONIX was game but he couldn’t reach Truffles Too last week. He is another in with a decent chance here. (5) POWERFUL SPIRIT can improve in this second start off 6-week break; consider for the exotics.

Race 3: Pop Up Event Consolation Claiming $8,500

(3) CHEAPSKATE HANOVER closed only mildly last week but he can improve in this second start out of the Menary barn; top call. (2) NOTETOSELF HANOVER raced Thursday night at Flamboro which should keep him sharp for this consolation. He should be a threat racing from close range. (8) TAKE THE DEAL was no match for a razor-sharp Sunny Bo last week but he should be the one to catch here and he is hard to leave off Pick 5 tickets. (4) ROUGH TRADE rallied well racing off the McQueen claim last week and he is another in with a shot in a race full of options.

Race 4: NW $9,000 L5 or $21,500 L10 or NW $30,000 in 2021-2022 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 - Pick 4

(9) BUCK DANCER looked better last week when getting his first win since returning to Mohawk Park and this step up doesn't look steep; call to repeat. (7) REFI gets a better post and he returns quicker tonight plus he gets Henry back. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him blast off the gate this week; using. (4) KAMERAN HANOVER raced better last week when dropped to this level and he should be even tighter now. He has upset potential tonight. (5) OKEANOS closed mildly vs. better in his first start back. He should be good for a share tonight.

Race 5: Pop Up Event Final Claiming $8,500

(7) GENERAL LEE didn't show much vs. tougher last time but that start should keep him sharp for this claiming stakes final that goes for $22K. I expect a big speed try here; top call. (4) NO TIME AT ALL was one of several claimed out of last week's leg with an eye to this lucrative final and he should be dangerous racing out of the Montini barn tonight; using. (1) ALWAYSYOURWAY dominated when claimed on 1/10 and he is another that must be considered for multi-race tickets. (2) ELROY SHINER tripped out to win when claimed last week; small share predicted tonight.

Race 6: 4YO and Younger NW2 or $15,000 LT - Pick 5

(5) ROYAL TANG has been in over his head recently but he isn't tonight. Macdonald takes over and he should have a good shot in here, but he is 1 for 24 so I wouldn't take a short win price. (8) TJ THUNDER was confidently driven by Sorrie to his maiden win last week and the step up here is not dramatic. He could repeat vs. these; using. (3) BOTTLE ROCKET is obviously one of the best in here, but he has already taken seven slices vs. one win in 12 starts. He contends, but I prefer to use him underneath. (2) WHISKEY BREAK is back from a failed try in the Snowshoe series and he fits better here; using underneath.

Race 7: Pop Up Event Consolation Claiming $8,500 - Pick 4

(2) MISSION THREE rallied to get what he could last week after the two leaders broke away from the field in the third 1/4. Macdonald returns to the bike here and he should provide a more aggressive steer; top call. (5) OLD BUCK was taken by a high percentage barn and he is likely to flash speed tonight; using. (6) DASHIKI paced a good mile on the rim in defeat last week and Sorrie has been making his mark on the big circuit so far this year. He is in with a decent chance tonight. (4) ON CRUISE CONTROL popped and stopped but he was claimed and he gets McNair tonight. He is another possibility in what will be a spread race for me.

Race 8: PREFERRED

(1) SPARTAN GENERAL looked beat on the far turn as he was stalled on cover as the leaders were getting away. When he was fed racetrack in the lane, though, he steamrolled past in an impressive effort and he gets the call to repeat. (3) PIKACHU HANOVER is in top form but he couldn't repel the choice last week. He could sit a perfect pocket trip tonight and that makes him dangerous. Shipper (6) PATRIARCH HANOVER has the look of the pacesetter and he should stick around for a slice. (5) ONLY FOR JUSTICE should rally for another small share here.

Race 9: 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT

(5) ITS IN THE STARS was absolutely airborne late last time at Flamboro Downs but he simply ran out of racetrack. He should like the long Mohawk Park stretch; call to upset. (4) BORN A REBEL came 2nd despite racing with broken equipment to a colt that freaked and he should be the one to beat here. (1) GREYSTONE IAN O was bought privately after his impressive win in the snow in London last week and he certainly isn't out of place here; using. (3) PINK FLOYD HANOVER should be good for another small share racing near the front.

Race 10: NW $18,000 L5 or $32,000 L10 or NW $120,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $50,000

(7) ALL WRAPPED UP hasn't been known for stringing wins together, but he looked so good beating easier last week that I'll give him the call to repeat here. (6) NEVER MIND N was first up a long way and he battled right to the finish. He could win here if he gets an easier trip. (2) DREAM NATION drops and he has a good chance vs. these but I wonder if he will get over bet; your call. (1) DERF HANOVER should sit a following trip and take another share. (4) LIFE IS A FEAST should be rallying wide late to nab a spot in the High-5.
