(3) HESTONATOR moved into these claiming handicaps from conditioned claimers last week and he was good, pacing an uncovered 28 1/5 third 1/4 before getting beat by the pocket sitter. He should offer a good price tonight and he gets the nod in a field with a few live options. (9) VINO LOUIE is 2 for 2 in the Fellows barn since shipping north and he produced big rallies in both wins. He will likely be asked to pass most of them again tonight, but he has shown that he is up to it; using. (10) LETS GO JUDE chased the choice down last week after blasting to the front leaving the gate. He has the requisite early speed to fly off the gate from out there and he is a threat to repeat. (4) DOUBLE DOWN DUKE raced better last time when claimed by Demers and he should be part of the exotics again.

Race 2: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (OS 5) RACES OR $55,750 (OS $86,250) LIFETIME

(7) R PEAKY BLINDERS comes in off a workmanlike win and he gets off the rail. He has some options here leaving from the wide post in a short field; call to repeat. (4) OH BROTHER won a NW3 race two starts back then he tried the front against the choice after missing close to three weeks. He can be better tonight, and he will likely deploy a different racing style here; using. (6) STEAMER sat Oh Brother’s pocket, got the jump on the choice, then couldn’t seal the deal. I’ll use him underneath here. (3) MOUNDS FOR ALL gets Macdonald tonight making his fourth start back. He should be good for a share in this spot.

Race 3: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: N/A $900 P/S IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000 - Pick 4

(7) BUCK DANCER crushed last time he raced for a $20K tag and he gets top billing here on the drop. (6) MISTER MAGIC goes in and out of form and he is on his game right now. He should get a good trip racing near the front, and he is in with a shot vs. these. (4) THE CANAM BANKER’s first start of the year was good, and he is sure to get bet here with Borth picking him over the choice and a more aggressive steer. He can beat these, but he will probably get over bet. (8) WASTINGNOTIME will likely pass a few of these late in the mile and land in the bottom of the Tri or Super.

Race 4: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000 - Pick 6

(8) TANGO SEELSTER tipped his hand two starts back with a good closing effort then he was predictably out into play last week starting from the best post and he got the job done; call to repeat. (5) WRY was beat by the choice as an over bet 1 to 5 chalk, but he is sharp and remains a viable contender starting from one of the best posts. (6) OVERTHINKING closed wide when 3rd to the top two choices last week, now he gets the best post. He is another that should be a threat in a decent betting race. (9) BEYOND BETTER is sharp but starting from the worst post he will likely be limited to a share here.

Race 5: NW $8,000 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. AE: N/A $2,385 P/S IN 2024-25. AE: NW $1,250 IN 2025

(7) RADIO LAB got aggressive teamster Davis Jr. in the bike, and he was steered to a first-over in at this level. That was a good effort, and he gets the call to repeat. (8) BELLA CAVALLA gets J Mac back and she gets back to the level where she last won. She should be the main threat; using. (9) ROBERTSON DE drops and he fits well here, but his typical deep closing style could put him behind the 8-ball. I’ll use him underneath. (4) TRUFFLES TOO should be prominent on the class drop and he should be able to stick around for a share.

Race 6: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 (OS 5) RACES OR $55,750 (OS $86,250) LIFETIME - Pick 5

(1) SID THE KID got outsprinted by a better rival in his last start and he looks good to lead this group all the way; top call. (6) FABULOUS FREDDIE has one of the best late kicks in here, but a small slice is likely his ceiling starting from the worst post. (4) PERFECT ANGEL makes her second start back off a sick scratch and she should be in the exotics mix again. (2) SATURDAY faces tougher racing off the claim, but he is very sharp, and he should be near the front early and stay for a share.

Race 7: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $7,800 LAST 10 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: N/A $935 P/S IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS)

In a wide-open race, I’ll take a shot with (10) DAY TRADER who goes for Barrington and gets Macdonald in the bike after being sold after his most recent start. (1) CONTROL HEAVEN motored up late to just miss in a race where the pace fell apart late. He retains McNair and he is in with a decent chance vs. these. (3) RILKOFF reversed tactics on the wrong night as not one horse that led at the 1/2 went on to win. He can improve sharply here, and he is another one to consider for multi-race tickets. (4) BAYFIELD BEACH is another that should go better that contested the lead with Rilkoff last time; using underneath.

Race 8: NW $25,000 IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) AE:N/A $1,605 P/S IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) - Pick 5

(7) DELCREST BRENT raced first up on an extremely cold night chasing two 8 to 5 shots last week and he hung around for a share. He can win here if he can work out a better trip; slight nod. (8) EYES OF JUSTICE gets a key driver change to Roy tonight and he is worth a look for the multis at what should be a big price. (5) SHADRACK HANOVER qualified nicely for this 2025 debut, and he is capable vs. these. He would be no surprise in this spot. (1) SO NOT COOL will likely close for a small share in this spot.

Race 9: NW $18,750 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NW $105,000 LIFETIME. AE: N/A $3,525 P/S IN 2024-25. AE: NW $30,500 LAST 5 STARTS TO DRAW OUTSIDE - Pick 4

(4) DREBIN was first up last week which wasn’t the winning trip in that extreme cold. He switches Macdonalds in the bike tonight and he gets top billing. (5) FRANKS ANGEL’s fade can probably be forgiven because he raced the same night as the choice and the races were dominated by closers. He should be much better tonight. (6) PERFETTO drops from the top class, and he is certainly capable starting from the best post, but he has had a few chances at this level recently to no avail. I’ll play to beat him. (1) CRYSTAL BALLER is razor-sharp right now and he can crack the exotics at a price tonight.

Race 10: CLAIMING HANDICAP $12,000 TO $16,000

(4) BERENS WEAPON got left out first up trying to chase down a loose leader last week when claimed and he got swallowed up by the closers late. He can rebound here at a better price. (6) FROWNIES MIRACLE was on the engine that night which was mission impossible. He is another that should go better tonight. (1) HERESTHATMANAGAIN and (5) SIR A benefitted from the best trips that night when finishing ahead of the top two choices. I’ll fade both tonight.

Race 11: NW $4,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $13,750 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: N/A $1,715 P/S IN 2024-25

(1) FIGHT SONG compiled a tremendous record last year which included taking a lifetime mark of 1:53 1/5, so there is evidence that he should be fast enough for these. He goes for Team Cullen after shipping in from the Maritimes and he gets top billing here. (3) MUSCLE FASHION comes off two solid efforts at Flamboro Downs and Harris won’t be afraid to put him into play at the outset; using. (4) GIGONDAS was used to make front on a night where that wasn’t the place to be. He fits vs. these and he is a contender in this spot. (2) COLLECTOR S re-rallied after taking a shuffle in a good effort. He is another in with a chance in a race with no standout.

Race 12: HORSES THAT HAVE STARTED FOR A PURSE OF $9,000 OR LESS IN ONE OF LAST 4 STARTS. AE: NW $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS

(2) ACAPULCO SUNBURN raced tough in defeat last time and now he gets Roy in the bike. He could be sitting on a win now; top call. Aussie invader (1) TROSA A adds Lasix for this North American debut, and he looks ready to roll. He is the other one that I’ll use on late multi-race tickets. (5) BEACHIN LINDY comes off a big win vs. easier. I prefer to use him underneath tonight. (10) HOWYOUPLAY THEGAME rode the choice’s cover, but he couldn’t get past him. I think he is limited to a small share starting from out there. (3) TAYLORS CREDIT can close for a share at this level. He is a good one to use underneath.
