(3) SHIFTING VIEWS fires back quickly following a good effort at Flamboro and is worth using underneath. He is much-improved in the new barn and he is the one to beat here. (7) MODERN ROCK is an obvious contender on the class drop tonight. He's the other one that I'll use in the early Pick 5. (5) CROSSCUT fits better here. I see him rallying for a share. (6) MAJOR HILL goes for a new barn here but I still see him as a fringe player. I'll give him the nod here. (7) MACHDAVID was against it trying to rally wide in the snow in the Popup final on 12/6. He will be flying late again here; using. (6) GUINNESS PANIC can get a good trip racing on or near the lead and he is worth using in this early Pick 5. $600K earner (3) CHAMPAGNE PHIL, the obvious class of this field, is another in with a chance in a good betting race. Race 4: NW $9,000 L5 or $19,500 L10 AE: OPT CLM $25,000 - Pick 4 (7) BUCK DANCER probably needed last week's race after missing seven months. I'll stick with him here in a spot where he figures to offer a better price. (1) ON THE ROPES has been closer vs. better recently and he should be a threat here likely racing near the front; using. (2) MISTER OF ALL won racing one level higher six starts back. He has upset potential tonight in a race where he could sit a great following trip. (3) MEMO drops, but he was only 4th at this level three starts back; using underneath. Race 5: Claiming Popup Event 2nd Leg (7) KINCAID SEELSTER toughed out a gritty win here last week in the opening leg of this series and he gets the call to repeat. (5) SIR A brings some good form with him from Ottawa and he fits well in here. He should be right there vs. these. (3) MELODY MAKER will likely race closer to the front this week and he can land in the Tri. (9) DIAMOND ROCK got bet last week but he got brutalized. He isn't out of this, but the post draw did him no favors tonight. Race 6: NW $12,000 L5 or $24,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $35,000 - Pick 5 (2) LOCATELLI was better last week as expected, but he was a victim of pace. I'll give him the nod vs. this group. (8) MUSCLE FASHION was coming close to winning in this track's highest class in the summer. If he is ready to rock, he should be right there tonight. (7) ZIG ZAG should contend for at least a share on the class drop tonight in a race where he figures to be blasting off the gate. (6) DERF HANOVER also drops but I prefer to use him underneath in this field. Race 7: Claiming Handicap $22,000 to $30,000 Interesting betting race here with four fresh claims facing off. I'll side with none of those, instead giving (3) GOLDINTHEBADLANDS the call to repeat coming off an impressive win making his second start off the Auciello claim last week. (10) MACH IMPACT was large in defeat when claimed by Marfisi last week and he should offer a decent price from post 10 here; using. (7) LOVEMYROCKINBIRD goes for a barn that has clicked with 36% (4/11) of fresh claims in 2021 and he is worth a look here at a price. (9) OUTKAST BLUE CHIP tripped out to win in fast time when claimed and he is another that merits consideration here. Race 8: Claiming Pop Up Event 2nd Leg (9) WILLIAM ROSS looks best here after finishing 2nd in the opening leg and he has the gate speed to get position early; top call. (6) THE DEVIL YOU KNOW was used aggressively last week and he improved sharply at a price. If he can repeat that mile, he should be right there tonight. (5) GALTERIO HANOVER should be a speed threat in this field and he is worth a look for multi-race tickets. (4) DUSTY LANE MORGAN showed some late interest last week and he can take another small share tonight. Race 9: PREFERRED - Pick 4 (8) ONEY HALL took a Preferred win when (9) PERFETTO took a week off, now he gets post position advantage on that rival. Slight nod to the former. (6) HEY LIVVY is capable of better than she showed last time. Maybe the rest will benefit her and she will offer a good price here; your call. (5) PIKACHU HANOVER has improving form and he can be an exotics factor again tonight. Race 10: Pop Up Event 1st Leg (4) CORTEZ THE KILLER got an impossible trip in the Pop Up final on 12/8. He draws perfectly for a big speed try here and Hudon can send him right down the road; top call. (1) P L JACKSON should sit a good trip racing near the front and he figures to be the main threat here. (6) SARATOGA BLUE CHIP was a predictable winner last week and he should take another share tonight. (7) PLAY JET RAY has been facing tougher recently. He should be in the exotics mix tonight. (1) CAPITANO ITALIANO gets McNair, who might be able to secure the pocket early and that makes him a threat tonight; using. (7) MILLENIUM SEELSTER raced well in a Pop Up Event last time and he is worth a look for the bottom of the exotics at a price tonight. (6) DEVILS PEAK should be good for another small share in this spot. Race 12: NW $3,000 L5 or $8,700 L10 (10) MAJOR CUSTARD gets a barn change and he shows two good qualifiers preparing for his return; price play. (5) BEACHIN LINDY raced decently coming off a sick scratch and he should be in the mix tonight, likely racing closer to the front this time. More was expected of (1) HERVEY HANOVER last week when he dropped to this level, so I'm not sure what to do with him tonight. He is obviously capable, but I couldn't take a short price. (2) AIR STRIKE is one to consider using on the bottom racing off the Puddy claim. (8) BIG BULLY will likely rally for another small share in this spot.
