(8) ARMYCAPTIN HANOVER fits well here and he picks up McNair. He is another to consider for the early Pick 5. (4) BEYOND BETTER comes off a good closing effort at this level but his typical closing style often puts him behind the 8-ball. I’ll use him underneath tonight. (6) MACH IMPACT won racing a class higher on 12/23 so he is obviously capable, but he has missed three weeks. Your call. (1) HESTONATOR takes on tougher here moving from a conditioned claimer to a handicap, but he tries hard every week, and he should be in the exotics mix again like he has been for several weeks in a row. (2) P L QUICKSAND is worth a look for the exotics racing off the Boyd claim. AE: N/A $2,535 P/S OR NW $53,000 IN 2024-25 - Pick 4 (5) PHEONIX has plenty going for him tonight. He gets class and post relief and McClure back in the bike and he gets top billing here. (7) STONEBRIDGE BRAVO was a winner last time she raced at this level on 12/23 and I think Jones will put her into play leaving the gate in this spot; using. (6) PIKACHU HANOVER steps up off a loss, but McNair chose him over the #7 horse, and he draws best. He is another possibility for early multi-race tickets. (4) RADIO LAB was 2nd to a predictable winner last week, his second good effort since being claimed. I prefer to use him underneath this time facing the class droppers. Race 4: NW $2,800 LAST 5 STARTS (W/O $12,500 LAST 10 STARTS N/E). AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,080 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) - Pick 6 (4) FLYING ART A moves to Barrington’s barn and he qualified decently for this mile. He has some history on this track having paced his lifetime best of 1:50 here in the spring of 2023. I’ll call him to upset. (2) VINO LOUIE produced a nice late move to notch the upset after shipping north and moving into the Fellows barn. You won’t get the same price tonight, but he is a threat, nonetheless. (8) RILKOFF paced a 55 1/5 back 1/2 last week but he often leaves himself with too much to do and that scenario is likely to repeat tonight with him starting from a wide post; using underneath. (9) BAYFIELD BEACH raced better last time, and he is another that is worth using on the bottom. Race 5: NW $14,500 LAST 5 OR NW $20,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW $135,000 LIFETIME. AE: NW $30,500 LAST 5 STARTS TO DRAW OUTSIDE Class droppers (9) FRANKS ANGEL and (10) QUEBEC HANOVER will likely dominate this field and I see the former winning racing in the latter’s pocket most of the way then pouncing late. (7) DREBIN raced tough on the engine last week and just got picked off late. He can be part of the exotics again. (2) ALL GAS NO BRAKES projects to get a good following trip racing near the front and he can round out the Tri or Super. Race 6: NW $2,500 LAST 5 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,150 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000 - Pick 5 (5) MISTER MAGIC trotted his best mile in several weeks last time and he is a good candidate to go right down the road in this spot. (1) WASTINGNOTIME roared past the choice and everyone else on his way to a big upset last week. He did string two wins together last October and he will likely be the one to fend off; using. (4) CENTURY JAGUAR gets post relief and McNair in the bike and that teamster drove him to a 2nd-place finish in January. He could wake up in this spot. (9) MASS HYSTERIA was a slight favorite in the same race, and she got hung the mile. I don’t like the wide post for her, but she is capable of landing in the Tri if she works out a better trip. Race 7: NW $4,000 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $12,950 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: N/A $1,725 P/S OR NW $11,500 IN 2024-25 - Pick 4 (9) BUCK DANCER is in easier here not having to face either of the Hanovers, Patriarch or Pikachu, and he gets top billing at what should be a solid price. (3) GIGINDAS is another that lands in a better spot and I could see the top two choices racing 1-2 to the lane then fighting it out for the win. (4) ZIG ZAG has been closing well and he should get a faster start here leaving from a better post then land in the money. (1) BRACE FOR LANDING raced better last week but I don’t love the rail post for him; small share predicted.   Race 8: CLAIMING HANDICAP $12,000 TO $16,000 (8) BERENS WEAPON is the hot horse in here and he gets the call to notch the threepeat coming off a strong win racing off the Barrington claim. (7) FROWNIES MIRACLE drops, and he will likely get put into play leaving the gate this time; using. (2) HERESTHATMANAGAIN should be better racing off the Bourassa claim, and he is another possibility, likely racing from close range. (5) RAYS KREDIT is racing well, and he goes for Fellows off the claim here. He tends to close too late though, and a slice is more likely than a win for him tonight. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,675 PER START IN 2024-25 (MIN 10 STARTS) (2) FLY BEYOND is in much easier in this spot and he gets McNair who has driven him to four wins at this track. He will be a single for me vs. this group. (3) TWIN B ARCHIE is another that fits better in this spot. Borth will probably look to send him down the road and he will probably be the one to catch. (8) CIEL BLEU comes off a good closing effort and he can be an exotics factor here at a good price. (4) MACALLAN will likely sit a good trip tonight and stick around for a share. Race 10: CLAIMING HANDICAP $30,000 TO $40,000 (5) WRY was first up chasing leader (7) B STONEY when claimed by Fellows last week. I’ll take the former to turn the tables and use both on multi-race tickets. (6) TANGO SEELSTER draws much better after closing for a share from post 9 and he is in with an upset chance tonight. (8) INSTANTANEOUS draws better and he can get positioned closer to the front this time and sneak into the exotics. (10) SELF MADE dropped in for a tag and popped now he draws worst.
