(5) SUNNY BO qualified sharply for this and he is sent out by a trainer that won with more than 45% of his 72 starters in 2022; top call in the 2023 opener. (2) SPEAKING OF ART had a long, grinding first up trip last time and he still almost got the job done. He goes for the leading trainer off the claim and picks up driver Macdonald, who in 2022 notched the first 400+ win in one year on this circuit since 2006. He is the obvious threat. (4) OFFICER JONES rallied past some winded leaders last week. I doubt he will see the same setup tonight; using underneath. (6) CENTURY GIGALO should improve enough to take a share with the drop into a claimer.

Race 2: NW $25,000 L5 or 7 races or $$150,000 LT AE: NW $40,000 in 2021-22 or Mares
(5) RUN DIRECTOR surely needed a start after missing 16 months action. Expecting sharp improvement here, I'll give him the nod. (6) ITSTIMETOGOHOME couldn’t be any sharper and Filion chose him over the choice. He should be heard from late again. (3) H P MAMA B is the class of the field but she has missed close to a month so I'll try to beat her here and add some value to the Pick 5. (4) LOOKS LIKE MONI has impressed in his three local wins since being acquired by The Stable but J Mac jumps off to drive the rail horse. I'll use him underneath tonight.

Race 3: NW $5,000 L5 or $12,000 L8 or NW $20,000 in 2021 or 2022 AE: OPT CLM $35,000
(7) MR CONTESTANT beat similar last week and his good tactical speed makes him a top contender right back; call to repeat. (5) DERF HANOVER should improve on the class drop. He is the one to fear. (6) JACK FIRE rallied for a slice last week. More of the same is likely here. (3) ALL WRAPPED UP was first up as the chalk last week and that's not his trip. He probably sits and rallies now.
Race 4: CLM HDCP $11,000 to $14,000 - Pick 4
(8) CHOREOGRAPHER showed a new dimension when he rallied to win at Flamboro on Wednesday night and I'll give him top billing here adding Lasix. (6) JIM STRIKESITRICH draws best tonight which should mean he gets a better start and gets put into the race earlier. He is an obvious threat. (3) FOUR FOR ORR rallied for a huge upset win her on Thursday night but he steps up now; small share predicted. (7) STATE OF PLAY gets Macdonald and that makes him worth a look for the bottom of the exotics.
Race 5: NW $2,000 L3 or $8,800 L8 AE: NW $32,000 in 2022
(6) WILDRIVERBUMBLEBEE got a brutal parked out trip chasing a winner that was taking a big class drop and he should be tough in here starting from the best post. (9) PREMIER NACHO is in solid form and Hudon will put him in play leaving the gate; price look for the Exacta. I'd like (10) HERVEY HANOVER more if he didn't draw widest. From out there I'll use him underneath. (4) REALRUBIES AT PLAY beat a decent field in Ottawa recently. He should be in the exotics mix.
Race 6: CLM HDCP $15,000 to $20,000 - Pick 5
(7) PRIVATE SCOTT looked the winner every step last week and he gets the call to repeat. (2) MACH ART IN MOTION was too far back last week when claimed by Moreau. The short field helps him tonight. He should be heard from late. (5) COIN FLIP was no match for the choice last week. He should be part of the Tri again. (1) BIG JOURNEY looks to double up racing off the Kerr claim but he is in tougher; using underneath.
Race 7: NW $12,000 L5 or $28,000 L8: AE: Ont. Sired NW $120K LT AE: OPT CLM $65,000 - Pick 4
(5) RESOLUTE BAY was one stride with A Mac driving now he gets the other Macdonald who led the country in wins last year; top call. (1) SPARTAN GENERAL takes a big drop and he should be heard from if he stays flat tonight; using. (3) FREE WILLY HANOVER dug in late to hold off challengers coming from all sides last week. He is sharp and dangerous. (8) PIKACHU HANOVER returns from a break at a reduced classification and he is another that could do in a race with several options.
Race 8: Horses that have started for a purse of $15K or less in 1 of L5 AE: NW2 in 2022
(8) STAY CLOSE was first up against Tymal Riggs last week and that wasn't going to work. I'm thinking J Mac will make an early move to the front this time. (6) TREASURED TEE got picked off late by the pocket sitter who sat a perfect trip last week and he should be a threat right back. (2) SIZZLEN HOT HERBIE ships in from Flamboro razor-sharp and he could do vs. these if he trips out; price look. I don't love the rail post for (1) P L OPPORTUNITY in this spot. I'll use him on the bottom.

Race 9: CLM HDCP $22,000 to $30,000
(5) NIGHT CLUB HANOVER rallied too late with Brett Macdonald driving now he gets Henry in the bike tonight; top call. (6) QUAN BLUE CHIP and (7) LEGAL BETTOR who finished 1-2 at this level on 12/19 bit race off the claim and both are hard to leave off late multi-race tickets. (4) ROYAL RENEGADE gets a driver change for his second start since being claimed and he should be in the exotics mix here.
Race 10: NW $3,000 L5 or $8,600 L10 or starters for a purse of $9,000 or less L3
This is a tough race to end the mutlis. I'll take a price swing with (7) TYMAL TAROT who showed improvement two starts back then closed well last week after blowing up at the start. (8) HOLDIN ACES fits well at this level and he is in with a shot in a race where the late pace could be soft. (2) SEVEN IRON is in great form and he can take air and keep going forward; using. (4) VICTOR INVICTUS had a clear shot up the inside late in the lane last week and he couldn’t get up. I'll use him underneath. (3) SO NOT COOL likely sits a trip and takes another slice.
