Top Pick Stats: 525 - 1575 / $2,761.30 (-$388.70) Best Bets: 82 - 147 / $293.80 (-$0.20) Spot Plays: 25 - 150 / $155.00 (-$145.00) Best Bet: MATTICULOUS GB (8TH) Spot Play: ROYALTY BEER (7TH) Early Pick 5: 3,9,10/3,4/1,5,8/1,6/5,7,8 = $21.60 Late Pick 5: 3,4/1,2,3/10/6,7/1,7,9 = $7.20 Early Pick 4: 1,6/5,7,8/3,4/1,2,3 = $7.20 Late Pick 4: 10/6,7/1,7,9/2,8 = $2.40 Race 1: 5YO and younger winners of 2 (F&M3) but not more than 4 (F&M5) or $45,000 LT *Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5* (9) MAJORDANCEMOVES hung on for a narrow win as the even money chalk but then was demoted for a pylon violation in his first start for Auciello and she can make amends here despite facing slightly tougher. (10) WARRAWEE YES adds Lasix after failing to last on the engine in two straight. She is worth using here because her price should be good with her drawing the 10-hole. (3) STONEBRIDGE BRAVO raced tough, and she was narrowly beaten by the choice then elevated to the win. She is another obvious contender in a competitive opening leg of the Pick 5. (1) DON’T TREAT ME BAD just won at this level racing first up but she loses Macdonald to the #10. I’ll use her underneath tonight.   [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: CLM HDCP $12,000 to $16,000 (4) A BOY NAMED SUUZZ was used up early last time when making his second start after missing several weeks. He should be tight as a drum now and this is a field that he should beat. (3) SNAP TEST interests me shipping west and adding Lasix while racing out of the Demers barn. He took his lifetime mark of 1:51-flat here in May and he should be a threat vs. these. (5) MACHIN A TRICK has had some gait issues recently and he adds Lasix here. I’m not sure that the medication will fix his gait issues, but his best effort puts him right there with these. (9) UF BETTORS HANOVER would be rated higher if he drew better. Starting from out there, a small share is likely his ceiling. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 5YO and younger CLM HDCP $50,000 to $60,000 (1) THE BOSS MAN went the long mile in his first try at this track and class and he was still only beaten 2 1/2 lengths. He can’t get parked the mile from the rail tonight; call to upset. (5) WARRAWEE XALT made an uncharacteristic break at the start last week when facing some of these. He can rebound if he behaves; using. (8) MYSTIC raced well in defeat last week and his recent consistency should be respected. He should get a good piece of this. (9) MRMAYOR HANOVER has been a bit of a money burner recently and I’ll play to beat him here from the widest post. Race 4: CLM HDCP $17,000 to $22,000 - Pick 4 (6) BLAKESAGENT draws best here and he should be much more aggressive early in this second start for Fellows. He may lead all the way tonight. (1) LITTLE MANNY was used very hard from post 10 when claimed by a high percentage barn. He will get a much different trip here and he is worth using on early multi-race tickets. (8) PROCRASTINATOR tripped out to upset. I see him getting a small share in this field. (2) ROYAL REGATTA steps up after winning racing off the Fellows claim but he is sharp and he should be in the exotics mix. Race 5: NW $8,850 L5 AE: NW $75,000 LT (7) CHAMBA raced okay in his local debut considering he had missed a month between starts. He should improve here, and I’ll give him the nod. (8) GIGONDAS raced well in defeat to a big chalk, and he is a logical contender in this spot. (5) SOUTHWIND ONCORE comes in off two good closing efforts. His sharp late speed will get him there one of these times, maybe tonight? I thought (2) WALKONTHEMOON was better last week and his speed could carry farther this time. He is in with an upset chance. Race 6: HARVEST SERIES Ont. Sired 3YO Fillies NW $30,000 in 2023 as of 9/30/2023 Leg 2 - Pick 5 The second leg of this series should come down to the two mares that jogged in the opening leg last week, (3) LUCY WHO and (4) ANGELIKI. I’ll give the nod to the former who paced the faster kicker. (6) CUNNING CONNIE was a distant 2nd to the choice last week but she gets off the rail here and she can be closer this week. She should be part of the exotics. (1) ANGELIC KT can sneak into the bottom of the exotics at a price if she stays flat this time. Race 7: NW $15,250 L5 or NW $120,000 LT AE: OPT CLM $65,000 (3) ROYALTY BEER was the first leader last week then he fell victim of several lead changes. He took one of the worst shuffles of the year when stuck behind an abrupt stopper for most of the last turn, then her re-rallied for 3rd. He gets a driver change here and I’ll call him to upset. (2) ESPLOSIONE dropped and popped and he looked good doing it. He should be the main danger. (1) MIDNIGHT MIRACLE never looked a loser last week while winning her third straight and she couldn’t be any sharper. She faces tougher here but she might be up to it; using. (5) MUSCLE FASHION gets off the rail here and he should be good for a small share vs. these. Race 8: NW $15,000 in 2023 - Pick 4 This is a good spot for returnee (10) MATTICULOUS GB and he has the speed and driver to overcome the widest post; top call. (2) GRAND POOBAH should sit a nice trip racing close to the front throughout and he can be an Exacta factor. (6) KRAKEN SEELSTER was first up as the pace accelerated last week and that was a trip that wasn’t going to work out. I can see him landing in the Tri here. (1) TAYLORS CREDIT will likely pass a few if these late and his good late kick should get him a share. Race 9: PREFERRED PP #1-#5 drawn and PP #6 and #7 drawn (6) LOGAN PARK is typically the boss of this class and he should get back to his winning ways following a decent showing in the Breeders Crown. (7) AMIGO VOLO is sharp and he should be the main threat, likely racing in the choice’s pocket then looking to pounce late. (5) H P MAMA B is another that performed admirably in the Breeders Crown but she faces males now; small share predicted. (2) PEMBERTON is always passing horses late and he can take a slice here. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: NW $4,000 L5 or $12,950 L8 AE: NW $2,000 in 2023 There are three droppers in here that will likely battle for the win. (9) MAD MAN HILL takes a multi-level drop and McNair should be sending him leaving the gate. He gets the nod. (1) FOREFATHER fits better at this level and Borth chose him over the top pick. He should be right there vs. this group. (7) INSTANTANEOUS is the other dropper and Roy will likely get position with him early then look to pounce late. He is another possibility for late multi-race tickets. (6) LETS TIE ONE ON is the morning line favorite coming off a rest and an okay qualifier at Flamboro Downs. I’m inclined to try to beat him but the tote board may provide some clues here. Race 11: NW $2,350 L3 or $5,000 L10 (8) THE GREEK FREAK comes out of four races that all were won by rivals that paced sub-1:50 miles. This is a much easier spot and he should prove tough to beat. The only other that I would consider using on late Pick 4 tickets is (2) REACTOR NOW A who looked like a horse that needed a start when he came flying late for 3rd in his first local start. (1) GOING FAST should be closer on the class drop here. I see him rounding out the Tri or Super. (7) PIPEWRENCH CHARLIE’s recent form doesn’t inspire but he is capable of closing for a slice in this spot; using underneath. (6) TORONTO will likely blast early for position and stick around for a small share.
