I’ll look for (8) SWEET LAKE to be a bit more involved this week and situate herself to potentially bolt off a helmet and get the job done. (5) ALEKSOVA comes out of that same race where nobody was catching the top two. Look for Mark to be aggressive. (6) PLAY DATE has been progressively getting better since adding Lasix and has a turn of foot that should allow her to pass rivals late.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(2) CANT TURN YOU DOWN will face her biggest challenge of the season in the form of (3) LAVENDER SEELSTER. The latter hasn’t quite lived up to expectations in the win column, but this is an easier field. (5) MY GIRL FRIDAY made two moves last week but was no match for a sharp Romantic Beauty. She has been sharp in her own right and deserves a look.

Race 3: ELEGANTIMAGE ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE: $3,000 CDN $2,325 USD.

(6) LEADING LADY has developed a real case of seconditis but is trotting quality miles. I think she breaks the trend tonight. (4) STORYBOOK LOVE looked like herself two starts ago when winning the Simcoe. She loves this track and should bring her A-game. (9) COURTNEYS PROMISE was a sharp second behind Storybook Love in her latest and has really progressed in the last month.

Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, NW $6,250 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $14,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,850 P/S IN 2026.

(5) PERFECTLY CHIC gets a double drop in class after a trip around the track in her latest. Her turn of foot should have her right in the mix with the right trip. (6) SORCHA SEELSTER made an extended first over move last week and was still pacing hard at the wire. She has been much better in her last three efforts. (9) SUNSHINE MAGIC was locked in and never got a fair shot in that same race. Gate speed from the outside could keep it from happening again.

Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $12,000 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $24,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $80,000. AE: NW 4 RACES LIFETIME. AE: N/A $2,930 P/S IN 2026.

(4) CARRERA SUNSET N wanted to go forward last week but likely would have been stuck four wide around the first turn. It was an uphill battle from there given the final quarter sprint that took place. I’ll try her again. (6) GLITTERING HOPE is another new shooter from New York who looks to make her mark right away for top connections. (7) TELLS ON A ROLL has the ability to edge away from these when at her best, but could run into early trouble if rivals to her inside are hell bent on getting the lead.

Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME.

(1) COLD CREEK CALI got the jump on (10) MOLLYS ON FIRE last week and now the former has a major post edge on the latter. It appears those two will be battling for the win again. (9) ARTISTIC DELIGHT finally came through with a sharp win in her latest. She likely works from farther off the pace tonight, however.

Race 7: ELEGANTIMAGE ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES. STARTING FEE: $3,000 CDN $2,325 USD.

(6) BUSY MISS LISSY S made a huge recovery after an early miscue at Pocono. She is one of the better fillies in this crop when at her best. (3) CHER HILL posted a new career best last week after a dominant score. She deserves a long look. (5) TX TRIX R FORKIDS likely needs another start or two before being back in peak form, but she is a Gold level filly who can step up at a price if she’s ready.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 5. 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $400 CDN ($315 USD).

(5) ROMANTIC BEAUTY was very sharp once McNair angled her to the outside. That was the best we’ve seen her all year. I’ll go right back to her. (8) P N G SHADOW likely fires off the car and secured a good trip this week after being left chasing in her latest. (4) MALICIA SPEED was much better in her latest and has the turn of foot to get herself in contention again.

Race 9: FILLIES & MARES OPEN.

(5) WISE PROFESSOR found an inside lane in her first Mohawk start and ripped off a career best. This will be a test for her but I’ll swing at a potential price. (3) ABSOLUTION turned into the new Open queen when the form of (7) LETS N JOY N tailed off. I expect the former to get back to form while the latter might be stuck chasing again.

Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $1,000 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,690 P/S IN 2025-26 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $15,000.

(6) ONE LAST BET made multiple moves in her latest and paced home strongly. She comes right back against similar rivals. (5) FOREVER BETTOR was weaving between horses late in the mile and likely gets into the race with any trip. I was a bit perplexed when (7) SANTAFES APPETITE moved to the lead but Cullen gave the horse a chance. I think she works from off the pace tonight and gets a piece.

Race 11: NW $1,600 LAST 4 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,185 P/S IN 2026. AE: OPT. CLM. $15,000.

(7) WASTINGNOTIME raced well behind a pumped up Made Of Magic in his latest and is trending towards a win. (3) SOUTHVIEW AVIATOR was on the outside for a while in his latest. His middle move is usually much more reliable at bottom levels. (2) WILDFIRE BLUE CHIP got a good trip in his latest but was unable to capitalize. If he gets to the outside, he could provide more punch late.

Race 12: FILLIES & MARES, NW $2,500 LAST 4 STARTS OR NW $9,500 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: N/A $1,400 P/S IN 2026 (MIN 5 STARTS).

(5) TAMARA HANOVER tried to make multiple moves from post ten and then wound up stuck behind cover that never materialized. Post relief should help. (7) SUPERIOR DELIGHT races off the claim and comes out of the same race. Another forward trip likely gets her into play. (3) ALL MY WISHES could easily repeat if she sustains her middle move like last week. I think she’ll have to work harder tonight, however.
