(5) SHINY NEW PENNY was a victim of pace and tactics at Hanover. I think she rebounds here and produces an effort like two starts back when she jogged over some of these. (7) SMASHIN RAQUETS beat the choice at Hanover and now she adds Lasix here. She is the one to fear. (4) LASTKICKATHECAN is one of the best closers in here and she should come on late to take a share. (6) SWEET DETRMINATION is typically close when McNair drives and she is in the exotics mix here.

Race 2: PREFERRED 2

(6) FASHION FRENZIE was hung out to dry by the eventual winner of the International Trot last weekend. He should be tough to catch in this small field facing easier. (5) FORBIDDEN TRADE figures to improve in this second start back and if he lands second to the choice leaving the gate, he could be a pocket rocket in the lane. (2) ONEY HALL made his own luck last week by leaving for position, then rallying late. He is in the mix again. (1) PERFETTO raced well in defeat last week and he should be part of the exotics.

Race 3: F&M NW $9,350 L5 or $14,500 L10 AE: NW1 in 2023

(5) SUNSHINE SALLY rarely gets bet and she is in a good spot here class wise and she draws well; slight nod. (1) SAULSBROOK OLYMPIA should wake up on the class drop here and she should be happy not to see Velvet Stinger or Powered By Mach lined up next to her; using. (7) IN THE MOOD exits a race where the winner was too good and just kept going despite being parked the mile. She is sharp and gets Macdonald and she has a shot here. (8) VOELZ DELIGHT closed from the clouds to get 2nd but she was capitalizing on a slowing late pace; small share predicted.

Race 4: Horses that started for a purse of $9K or less in 1 of L3 AE: NW $9,550 in 2023 or NW $200 L3 - Pick 4

(4) O NARUTAC PERFETTO raced well in his return race but he couldn't get past a stubborn leader. He fits great here and he should be tough. (6) MY HOLEY MOLEY should get a better trip starting from an improved post tonight; price look. (3) ASTRE DUHARAS was only a length behind the choice at the wire last week. He should be in the exotics this time. (1) HALO ITS HEAVEN brings good form with him from Kawartha Downs and he can take a share here.

Race 5: F&M 5YO and younger NW $15,000 LT

(7) MULLIGAN PHILLY raced tough first-over last week and held on for the win and she faces similar here; call to repeat. (2) ZEBS BREAKING DAWN just failed to catch the choice and she should be the main threat here. (1) GOING YARD is one that takes frequent shares and she is a good one to use underneath here. (5) WARRAWEE YOKO’s comeback race where she was third to the top two was decent. She’s in the mix here.

Race 6: 3YO fillies Grassroots starters in 2023 - Pick 5

Tough race here because the latter legs of the sires stakes are coming and intent is a question mark with many of these likely using this race to stay tight. (5) CENTURY JAMILA gets sent forward leaving the gate every race and she will likely be the one to catch. (3) IMA DOLL will take lots of action here coming off a solid 2nd in a Gold race and she should be right there if she gets put into the race early. (4) TALK CURDY to me just raced against Sylvia Hanover. She should improve by default in this spot. (6) MYSTIC WILD ROSE's form is improving and she should be in the exotics mix here.

Race 7: 5YO and younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 LT

(8) SOUTHWIND DESI ships in, goes to the leading trainer and faces easier; top call. (4) WINOOSKI got a good speed tightener in last week. I think he sits and rallies this time and he is in with a chance. (6) PROUD TO BE LINDY is in the mix every week and her good tactical speed will put her in position to get another good share here. (5) ANGELIKI should sit a good trip racing close to the front and take a small slice.

Race 8: F&M 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 4 or $45,000 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO to be claimed for $50,000 - Pick 4

(5) FAVORITE BEACH is in much easier here dropping out of the Grand Circuit and she draws well. She should be tough in here. (6) BETTORS PUNCH has a similar profile and she finished ahead of the choice last week. She figures to be a threat here. (3) MOMENTARY CONTROL jogged and took a fast new life's mark. She is another in with a shot. (8) FATED FIRE ships north in good form but this isn't an easy spot; using underneath.

Race 9: FILLIES AND MARES PREFERRED 2

(2) WESTERN WISH is the de-facto top choice here not having to face the two killer Gallucci mares tonight. (5) STYLE FOR A MILE missed a couple of weeks but she is in easier here, too and she can be an Exacta factor. (6) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP should close for a share at this level. (7) MYSTIFYING is another that should pass some mares late and land in the Tri or Super.

Race 10: F&M NW $15,000 L5 or $22,500 L10 or NW $145,000 LT AE: NW2 in 2023

(2) SHESASHARPSHOOTER ships back north and she is a one dimensional speedball that could get left alone on the lead for much of this race; top call. (3) GIAS SURREAL paced a mile at Grand River that you don't often see, parked the mile pressing big fractions and prevailing. I could see her riding in the choice's pocket and pouncing late. (8) SWEET AMIRA and (5) SAVETHELASTDANCE are very good sophomore stakes fillies entered mainly to stay sharp. Either can win if put into the race soon enough, but I wouldn't take a short price here.

Race 11: Fillies and Mares that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4

(9) DARKRSHADEOFPALE N raced well in two straight in the top class at Grand River and she has a good chance here despite drawing wide; top call. (5) TAKEYOURBREATHAWAY raced better and more aggressively with Borth driving last week. I can see her tripping out this time and she can be dangerous racing off a helmet; using. (2) HILLBILLY JET was first up a long way last week and she hung in there. She could do here if she can find some cover. (3) MY MOTHER PEARL closed okay last week and she is yet another to consider in a wide-open race. (6) GIRL SCOUT COOKIE gets need post relief here. She can be in the mix.
