The former is the clear pick, and the latter is an alternative for the Pick 5 that should offer a much bigger price. (6) DISTANT LOVER comes off a strong winning effort at Kawartha, but she was no match for the choice two starts back; using underneath. (7) FANCY LETTERING produced a nice closing effort to get 2nd behind the choice. She should close for a share tonight. This looks like a good spot for him, and he gets the nod. (5) LYONS HONEYMONSTER closed well with Macdonald in the bike and that teamster sticks here; using. (6) MERROW is sharp, and he draws best. His strong late speed should play well here, and he is another in with a shot in a race with several options. (9) TIP OF TIME is an obvious contender on paper, but he squandered two 58 and change opening 1/2s in a row and I’m inclined to try to beat him tonight. Race 4: FILLIES & MARES, NW $5,200 LAST 5 STARTS OR NW $14,950 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: N/A $1,775 P/S IN 2024 (MIN. 10 STARTS) - Pick 4 (8) ONE LAST WISH was raced very aggressively last time Roy drove four starts back and it almost paid off. She gets him back in the bike tonight and a big speed try is likely; top call. (5) SPORTS DUCHESS has been closing well in fast miles. She might be the one to fend off late here. (7) CHEESY SMILE was good in the Pop Up series but Yoda Queen was too good. She should contend here racing from close range. (2) CARSONS GOUDA is in great form currently and she will likely close for a share here. Race 5: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GRASSROOTS LEG 4. 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS (3) BLUE BAR outfought (2) GRIN AND WIN over a very sloppy track in Sarnia and these two figure to battle it out for the win here again. Slight nod to the former, but I’ll use both on multi-race tickets. (7) TITO N CHEDDAR likely needed last weeks start after missing 18 days. He is worth using here at what should be a good price. (9) DEVILS WISH comes off a decent effort from post 9 and he can get a share here. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 RACES OR $30,000  LIFETIME. AE: 3 YO N/A $1,785 P/S LAST 10 STARTS - Pick 5 (4) SINGINGINTHERAIN stands out on paper here having just raced against some of the best sophomore fillies on the continent. Her 1:51 3/5 winning mile dwarfs anything that her rivals have done in 2024; top call. (2) DEFININGTHE MOMENT got the McNair wake up last week and she blew up the tote board after being raced aggressively. Price is gone now but she should be the main threat. (3) WEDNESDAY was just 2nd to a good filly, and she can sit a trip and take a share here. (1) SWIFT TALKER will likely sit back and try a late rally this time; using underneath. Race 7: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $72,500) LIFETIME (7) ONE MORE BET just finished 3rd to the best sophomore pacing filly on the continent and that came on only four days rest. She stacks up well here and she gets the nod. (4) HOW MUCH exits the same race and she got a passive drive and no check. McNair returns here and a more aggressive drive is very likely here. Her speed makes her dangerous. (3) STONEBRIDGE HALO qualified well, and she took her lifetime mark of 1:50 3/5 in her first start of the year so you know she can fire fresh. She is another in with a shot here. (10) COCO JOJO fits well vs. these but from the 10-hole a small share is likely her ceiling. Race 8: POP UP SERIES: NW $18,000 IN 2024 (MIN 10 STARTS). (9) GOING FAST and (10) UP JOEYS CREDIT have similar profiles in that they both will pass some rivals late but the have the same problem: they draw the two worst posts and will both likely be too far back. They are good ones to use on the bottom of the exotics. Race 9: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. HANDICAP PP#6 & PP#7 ASSIGNED (6) SYLVIA HANOVER needed her start last week after missing three weeks. She closed well now she draws best, and a more aggressive steer is likely in this spot. (7) TELLS ON A ROLL tripped out to beat the tough Silver Label last week and she surely will be blasting for position again. This is a two mare race on paper. (4) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN will likely race closer to the front tonight and that gives her a decent chance to share. (1) STYLE FOR A MILE is sharp and worth using underneath at a price.
