Top Pick Stats: 163/502 (-$201.90) Best Bets: 18/46 (-$27.20); Spot Plays: 9/47 (-$48.50) Best Bet: ODDS ON BULLFROG (Race 5) Spot Play: BETTERNOTMACHME (Race 9) Early Pick 5: 6,8,10/1,2,7/4,5/4,5/7   $7.20 Late Pick-5: 2,3/2,4/1/2/7,9   $1.60 Race 1: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. WITH ALLOWANCES. (6) HALTON HILL should be tighter tonight after a decent fourth against open competition. He leaves from a perfect post to be forwardly placed from and should be in contention turning for home. (8) NIXEN BIXEN rallied up from off the pace to get the job done on debut. He likely could’ve won by more, but Henriksen had to keep him flat; He broke stride right after the wire. The talent is there, but he could be tricky moving forward. (10) COMMANDER SAUL has done little wrong in five career starts. His versatility has been on full display in his last two starts. The post will push people away. (2) SOUTHWIND CHESTER raced well to hold third after a first over move. He can grind out another share. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (7) HORSE WITH A PLAN was an improved third last week in a race that saw her make two moves. I think she floats out for position and can work out a trip. (2) COLD CREEK COTIJA has raced from off the pace in her two career starts. She showed decent speed from post eight in an effort that could have her tighter tonight. (1) MONTE AMORE is an improving filly that could make noise if she finds a live helmet to follow. I think underneath is her ceiling if she has to do all the work. (3) ALL BETS ON KELLY is still a work in progress, but a :26 3/5 final quarter is a step in the right direction. Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4: 2 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (4) A CLEAN DEAL will look to remain undefeated as she faces Gold foes again. She got a perfect tightener under her belt in the morning. I’ll give her the nod. (5) NAUGHTY DELIGHT lost all chances when sitting fourth at the quarter. She wasn’t going to catch the leader who got a cheap second split and sprinted from there. She needs to be used a little harder. (2) JEN TILLY was an impressive winner in her latest, and now gets another shot at Gold types. She is a logical use anywhere. (1) JAY has been overmatched in three Gold tries, but could sit an inside trip and get a share. Race 4: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 2 RACES OR $20,000 (OS $25,000) LIFETIME. (4) CALLSIGN ROOSTER had the unenviable task of going up against Mr. Beau Jangles in his latest. He fits much better in this spot in what could prove to be quite a competitive race. (5) CATTLE DRIVE was parked for the mile when shipping to Kawartha. Considering how strong he looked two starts ago, I think he rebounds nicely. (8) WINDSUN TUXEDO is clearly improving with each start and put it all together in his latest. I think he shows some gate speed. (3) MAJOR MIKI got a perfect second-over trip and was able to get the job done. He will have faster horses to chase in the stretch if he gets the same trip. Race 5: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (7) ODDS ON BULLFROG was searching for room for the length of the stretch and was moving well when following horses in front of him. I think he is in store for a big effort tonight. (1) TICKET STATION made up solid ground in the stretch and now gets major post relief. I would expect a rebound. (4) ALLTHERIGHTPLACES was behind the aforementioned Major Miki but couldn’t catch that rival in the lane. He can work out an overland trip and hit the board. (3) RYDER ROSS was a solid third after making two moves, including being first over. He could be first to the lead. Race 6: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $62,500) LIFETIME. AE: 3 YEAR OLDS NW OF A RACE IN 2025. (2) WINDSUN CHARLOTTE has a solid record with J-Mac in the bike and got a start under her belt with Lasix. I’ll give her the slight nod against an inconsistent group. (3) BONHOMIE HANOVER has been a filly I’ve been against in the past, but the trips haven’t exactly gone her way of late. Post relief helps. (6) CANT SEE ME showed flashes of brilliance last year but has yet to win this season. You would expect her to soon. (7) ROCKS SHADOW is always an underneath factor with her wicked kick. She can close for a piece. Race 7: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: GRASSROOTS OR PROSPECT STARTERS. (4) COLD CREEK CALI is 2-for-2 with McNair and is likely to be first to the lead. She will be in contention turning for home. (2) LAVENDER SEELSTER got a confidence boosting win last week. I think she strings consistent efforts together and finishes strong. (5) CACKLE BERRY held her own in stakes competition after pulling off an upset win three starts ago. She has versatility and can hit the board. (1) P N G SHADOW got a perfect trip as the favorite but came up short. She will need more when the going gets tough. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4: 2 YEAR OLD PACING COLTS & GELDINGS. STARTING FEE $900 CDN ($700 USD). (1) BEAU JANGLES is back in just six days after a wrapped up domination in the Nassagaweya. He continues to show that he is a special colt and must-watch TV. (5) TILTHECOWSCOMEHOME was no worse for wear after his scratch and took the other division of the Nassagaweya. He has chased Beau Jangles for most of his career. (8) REDLAND ROCKET MAN made up decent ground after getting away sixth behind Beau Jangles. He has enough ability to close for a piece if he gets away slowly. (2) ILLICIT BEHAVIOR continued to show his quirks last week when he waited on horses and got picked off. I’ll use him underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES, NW $3,000 LAST 5 OR NW $8,000 LAST 8 STARTS. AE: NOT AVERAGING $1,275 PER START IN 2025 (MIN 10 STARTS). AE: OPT. CLM. $20,000. (2) BETTERNOTMACHME cut strong fractions on the front and had reason to tire, but still held third. I think she puts it all together tonight. (4) KIERA SEELSTER drew away from rivals in her latest. She has two wins in her last three races, both with J-Mac, who returns to the bike tonight. (6) GIMMIE A CORONA was progressing well off the claim, but was given no chance when taken back on the step up in class. She drops back down to the 20K claiming level and can rebound. (1) CORA CORA CORA was empty empty empty in her latest after getting away in mid-pack. She is another who can rebound and get a piece. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,500 LAST 5 OR NW $15,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (7) MS QUICK SAND capitalized from the pocket after following those quick fractions. She is in better form in recent weeks. I’ll give her the nod to win again. (9) MADRID A came up short last week after another speed try. The miles might be catching up to her, but they enter her right back a week later. (2) SHOOT THE WHISKEY has some staying power if given an overland journey. Combine that with the potential early speed duel and it makes me think she could pull the upset. (10) BLUEMEA KISS finds an easier overall group this week, but the post hurts. She could look for a live helmet to follow and get into the mix that way. (5) CHARMBO STORMY does better work when forwardly placed as well, but could get outsprinted off the car and put into a tough spot. I’ll use her to round out the Hi-5.
