Race 1: NW $4,800 L5 AE: OPT CLM $20,000 **Gtd. $100,000 Pick 5**
(1) ROWLEN raced better last week, and he faces some class droppers here that rarely show any gate speed. I think he makes an early move to get the jump and takes his third win of the year tonight. (4) RADIO LAB followed the choice last week and finished just behind him. His barn has been hot yet and he is worth a look at a price. (8) VICTOR INVICTUS and (9) KEVIN ANTHONY both drop but they typically close from the clouds. Either can win, but I wouldn't take a short price.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4. 3 YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS
(4) GHOSTLY CASPER jogged over some of these in a Grand River Gold event and he gets the call to repeat in this short field. (2) HASTY BID was a Gold winner when last seen on July 8th. He comes in fresh, and he could do if he gets another good trip. I think (1) OH LOOK MAGIC is better racing on the big track. He can be an exotics factor here. (3) NEW RULES is fast and sharp, but he steps into the lion's den here; using underneath.

Race 3: CASUAL BREEZE: 3 YO FILLIES
(6) BARONESS HILL was good last week but the winner got a dream run up the pylons to beat her. I'll give her the nod over (3) RIGHTEOUS RESOLVE who can certainly win here but will offer no value and looked tired in her last start when beat by the choice. (7) CALL ME GOO is certainly interesting coming in with seven wins and a second in eight 2023 starts but she has been beating up on Maryland breds. I'll use her underneath. (5) MUSCLING VEGAS should contend for a share here from her better draw tonight.
Race 4: 5YO and younger NW2 or $30,000 LT - Pick 4
(10) LEAVE IT TO LEO shoots for five straight wins here and he is so sharp that the 10-hole may not stop him. (6) BETTOR THAN PRIDE paced a 54 2/5 back 1/2 last time but he was just way too far back. Moving to the best post now gives him a chance; using. (2) TALK RACY TO ME returns quicker and he should improve here; exotics factor. (9) FADE TO LIGHT can close for a small share in this spot.
Race 5: F&M 5YO and younger winners of 2 but not more than 5 or $45,000 LT AE: 4YO and 5YO to be claimed for $40,000
(4) GRANDEUR SEELSTER just wired a field from the rail post at this track which is something you see maybe once a month on average. I'll give her the call to repeat in a race where a few of them could be prepping for their next sires stakes start. (6) MIST AMBER is going to be close enough at the head of the lane one of these nights and mow them all down at a price; maybe tonight? (7) BETTORS PUNCH is back with her own age group following a good effort vs. older and she is another in with a shot. (3) LYONS BETTORDAY is one of the better ones in here, but she hasn’t raced in 2 1/2 weeks and she also has a Gold leg in a week; caveat emptor.
Race 6: Horses that have started for a purse of $9,000 or less in 1 of L4 - Pick 5
This is a good spot for (1) PHOENIX, who has been facing tougher on a regular basis; top call. (10) MYSTIC is another that fits well, and he is sure to offer a good price starting from post 10; using. (2) STORMONT MOLLY closed a lot of ground late last week. She is in the mix, but she is always behind the eight ball because she has no gate speed. I'll use her underneath. (4) LILYS LASS gets McClure back tonight, but she has taken 19 slices vs. 3 wins in the past two seasons. She is likely to take another share here.
Race 7: F&M NW $22,000 L5 AE: NW8 LT
(6) WESTERN WISH should get sent forward at the start leaving from the best post tonight and she gets top billing here. (7) PARISIAN BLUE CHIP was an impressive winner last week with Jones in the bike. Macdonald returns now and she is one of the main contenders. (8) MYSTIFYING dropped and popped in a solid effort, and she is another in with a chance in a good betting race. (2) ONE LAST WISH is a good sophomore prepping for next week's Gold sires stake against some salty older mares; small share predicted.
Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4. 3YO TROTTING COLTS & GELDINGS
(5) OSCEOLA was only 16 to 1 in the Hambletonian final, and he was in contention until he broke. He should dominate here if he stays trotting. (3) THE HAZLETON continued his good season by stepping up into Golds and finishing 2nd. He should be an Exacta factor right back. (2) THE GREAT EMOTION has hit his best stride in his last two starts and he should be in the exotics mix again. (6) MUSICAL RIDE can round out the Super again.
Race 9: CASUAL BREEZE: 3 YO FILLIES - Pick 4
(2) WARRAWEE YES had an impossible trip from a tough post in the Continental Victory. She should rebound here starting from a much better post. (6) HP EXTRA ICE is another that comes off a tough trip that could offer some value in this spot; using. (1) CLIMB THE POLE took advantage of a perfect trip to win well last week and she has a recency advantage. She's hard to toss but she will likely offer little value. (7) SILLY ME HANOVER just beat elders in a good effort, and she is another possibility in what should be a good betting race.
Race 10: 5YO and younger NW $15,000 LT
I liked (2) NEW SHOOTER's local debut. He had designs on leaving but five rivals to his inside had the same plan and he had to abort quickly. He was a live wire in the lane but too far back. He is the clear top pick tonight to turn the tables on (1) THE SERPENT, who was on a loose lead throughout in that race. I don't see him getting that same trip tonight, but he should be an Exacta factor. (3) OH COFFEE BEAN was close to strong fractions throughout and still there at the wire in a decent effort. He's in the mix. (9) SANS SOUCI closed mildly in a race that was dominated throughout by a loose leader and he can close for a slice in this second start.

Race 11: F&M NW $10,150 L5 AE: NW $14,000 in 2023 AE: OPT CLM $45,000
(6) VELVET STINGER came back ready, and she should be good for another here. (4) SUNDAY AFTERNOON comes off two good tries vs. tough male claimers and she can add some value to the Exacta here. (3) MOMENTARILY moves inside after racing well from a wide post. She should be part of the Tri in this field. (7) INTOTHEMYSTICMOON drops to a spot where she can land in the exotics.
Race 12: F&M NW $4,900 L5 AE: OPT CLM $20,000
(1) BEYOND THE SEA gets to drop and face much easier here and she should be looking to boss this group. (4) COZ IM SPECIAL raced okay vs. Velvet Stinger last week and there are none like that mare in here. She's in with a decent chance tonight. (2) CAN THIS BE REAL moves inside and gets J Mac for this second start back. There are worse bombs that you could try to click with on this card. (5) PHENOM SEELSTER is another dropper that figures to improve in this spot, but I prefer to use her underneath. (6) MY MOTHER PEARL will probably pass a few of these late and take a small share.
