(3) CHILLINONTHEBEACH tried to close from 6th into a 27 1/5 final 1/4 and that was never going to work. She should be a threat back in with maidens; using. (6) ODDS ON FIAT MONEY tripped out to get 2nd in a Grassroots race last time. She gets the best post here and she is another contender in with a shot. (8) BARB LAHEY kicked in 26 2/5 in a Gold race then she missed five weeks leading to this start. The stale date leads me to use her underneath. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2YO colts and geldings NW2 or $20,000 LT (4) SMILING DANCER shows some grit to get up to win by a nose in his most recent start while dropping several seconds. He has some upside, and he gets the call to repeat. (6) D A LETS BOOGIE was outsprinted in a good effort in defeat, and he’s drawn perfectly here for another speed try. He will likely be the one to catch at the 1/8th pole. (5) WICKED STORM broke in Sarnia, but he produced a big late kick to win here two starts back despite being out uncovered a long way. He has upset possibilities here. (1) TITO N CHEDDAR took a slice in the hotly contested Battle Of Waterloo and he should be in the exotics mix again here. [DRF BETS: Wager on tonight's Mohawk Park card at DRF Bets.com!] Race 3: 2YO colts and geldings NW1 or $8,000 LT (4) GLOWING LOU takes a huge drop here after facing the likes of Louprint in his most recent PASS start. He should be tough to beat in here. (2) TWIN B COURAGEOUS took a check in the Dream Maker series and he seems logical to complete the Exacta. (7) NOT A BAD GUY is improving for trainer Steacy, and he should be part of the exotics here; using underneath. (5) HAPPY IN CONTROL can sit a trip and take a slice in this spot. Race 4: POP UP SERIES CONSOLATION - Pick 4 (2) RILKOFF tried to dial up a rally last week, but he ran into road trouble. He fits well in this consolation field, and he gets the nod. (5) DRINKIN BUDDY figures to flash speed tonight and he is a threat to lead all the way; using. (9) GOING FAST got rolling late in the mile last week. He won’t get bet from the 9-hole, and he is worth a look at what could be a big price. (3) MIKRON makes his second start off the Auciello claim, and he is another possibility for early multi-race tickets. Race 5: F&M NW $15,250 L5 AE: OPT CLM $70,000 AE: NW $100,000 LT (1) ALABAMA HANNAH raced well in defeat last week, but she couldn’t repel the 4 to 5 favorite. A similar effort would give her a good chance tonight. (3) STYLE FOR A MILE drops from the top class and she figures to be a threat racing on the lead or in the pocket; using. (2) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL often looks good, but she is 2 for 31 this year. I’ll use her underneath in this spot. (5) MS QUICK SAND is sharp and she just took a fast win, but she steps up a few levels here; small share predicted. Race 6: CASUAL BREEZE: 3 YEAR OLD FILLIES - Pick 5 (1) DRAWN IMPRESSION raced great in her Hambo Oaks elimination then ran at the start of the final racing in the slop. I don’t love the rail post for her, but she is the one to beat if she stays flat tonight. (10) EMOJI HANOVER trotted a 1:51-flat mile on that same card and got picked off late. She has the speed and talent to overcome the 10-hole; using. (7) R LIZA has been terrific in sires stakes this year, but she will need to be faster if the top two choices behave and bring their A games; using underneath. (9) WILLYS HOME RUN will likely pass a few of these in the lane and land in the Tri or Super. Race 7: MAPLE LEAF TROT ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER OPEN (7) SOUTHWIND TYRION trotted an incredible parked out mile on Hambo day while providing the winning cover for his stablemate. He is the one to knock off here. (1) ITS ACADEMIC has hit his best stride, and he didn’t earn $950K last year by fluke. He is a high-quality animal that would be no surprise in this spot. (2) PERICULUM is improving, and he gets a key driver switch to Dunn here. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets driven more aggressively and he is worth a price look for the multis. (3) CHAPERCRAZ never trots a poor race it seems, and he is in the exotics mix again here. Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES: GOLD LEG 4: 3 YEAR OLD PACING FILLIES - Pick 4 (5) ITS A LOVE THING is on a tremendous roll, and I can’t figure out a way to beat her in a sires stake. (1) ODDS ON PLATINUM is another filly that has been hot, and she has a recency edge on the choice, but I don’t think that will matter; Exacta factor. (9) SORCHA SEELSTER got a nice tune up in last week and she can close for a share here. (8) HOW MUCH gets Miller and it seems like she is always in the mix. She can be part of the Super. Race 9: MAPLE LEAF TROT ELIMINATION: 3 YEAR OLDS & OLDER OPEN (6) VENERATE had no shot in the Cashman starting from post 10. He draws best now, and he might get a little lost on the board in this spot; price play. (3) M MS DREAM takes on the boys here but that might be easier than trying to beat Jiggy Jog S.; using. (8) ASTEROID couldn’t go with Lexus Kody who trotted out of his skin that day. He is in with a shot here and worth using on late multi-race tickets. Local star (4) LOGAN PARK will likely try to lead all the way and he isn’t without a chance in an elim where every horse doesn’t have the same intent. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 10: F&M NW $4,500 L5 or NW $11,500 L10. AE: OPT. CLM. $25,000. AE: N/A $1,460 P/S IN 2023/24 (4) SHOOT THE WHISKEY dropped to this level last week but drew widest and was conservatively driven. She made a good wide move in the final 1/4 now she draws much better so she should get more aggressive in this spot; top call. (5) SPORTS DUCHESS got Macdonald last week and she almost blew up the tote board while finishing ahead of the choice. Price is gone now, but she has a big shot here. (6) JM BETONSIX exits the same race as the top two choices, and she raced okay in there. She can take a share here. (2) THE TURNING POINT has been racing well vs. easier at Grand River and she is in the exotics mix here. Race 11: POP UP SERIES FINAL (5) TYGA HANOVER has been lights out in the first two legs of this series and Macdonald chose him over a rival that he also drove to two wins. If this gelding can produce another 1:50 1/5 mile like he did in the first leg, the rest will be racing for 2nd. (3) THRILLING TIMES, like the choice, jogged in the preliminary legs and he should be the main threat in this final. (4) MOONWATCHER raced well in both legs, and he should be part of the Tri here. (6) UP JOEYS CREDIT consistently takes checks almost every start and he is a good one to use in the bottom of the exotics. (1) DELIGHTFUL LEADER raced okay in both legs, and he has taken shares frequently in the past two years; using underneath.
