(8) BEST KEEPSAKE got a couple of weeks off since pressing a wickedly fast pace and this is a group that she should handle if she is sharp enough; top call. (3) LA PETITE GRISE raced great at Grand River, digging to the wire but leaders simply couldn't be caught that day. She is in with a decent chance here. (7) BELLINA faces tougher here shooting for three straight. I think her winning streak gets broken tonight. (4) DEJA VU SEELSTER is worth a look for the exotics moving into Budd's barn.

Race 2: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES 2YO FILLIES

(5) JUST CALL ME SONG roared up the inside to break her maiden and her 28 3/5 kicker was actually quite good on a night that the track was dead and not yielding fast times. She finally draws decently and she gets the call to repeat. (3) WINX is one for one in Grassroots races and she should be the main threat. (4) B MY SUNSHINE has improved her late speed and she figures to be right there tonight vs. these; using. (2) SHANGAI SEELSTER was 2nd to the choice then came right back with another strong effort. She is another possibility in a competitive field.

Race 3: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES 2YO FILLIES

I love horses that can grind first-over on this track and keep coming to take the win. So, off her first-up win on the 5th, (3) CREME DELIGHT gets top call here. (8) SAKE TUMI was 2nd to the choice in a decent effort and she is worth using in the Pick 5. (1) MAROON SEELSTER is capable of a better effort and I expect her to be more aggressive tonight. She isn't out of this. (6) MORETHANMYHOMETOWN, stablemate to the choice, is sharp and she should take at least a share here.

Race 4: F&M NW $3,000 L5 or $10,900 L10 - Pick 4

(7) KAT raced well vs. from the 9-hole vs. tougher last week and Hudon will likely look to send her down the road tonight. (5) SHEMARS LADY HAVOC is coming around with Macdonald driving and she just might vault past them all late in the lane; using. (4) TAKEYOURBREATHAWAY weaved through traffic to get a share last week. She isn't impossible but she is more likely to take a small share. (6) NAUGHTY LADY B was 2nd at a higher level two starts back then she threw in a clunker. She could be overbet here on the class drop; your call.

Race 5: Ont. Sires 3YO Fillies NW $20,000 L5 AE: NW1 in 2021

(3) ANDRA DAY was in an impossible spot at Grand River on Industry Day, trying to rally on a track over which closers had no chance. That line should help provide an overlay here and she gets the nod. (6) CHIEFS DREAM GIRL has a similar profile and she tried to make a big move that she couldn't sustain that day. She has a better chance tonight. (4) BEACH MOMENT is improving every start and she is another in with a decent chance here. (5) ALUMNI SEELSTER rode the bias to a predictable win and she is one that I'll play to beat here.

Race 6: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES 2YO FILLIES - Pick 5

(1) VELVET STINGER got a needed clean line with Austin Sorrie in the bike now she gets Macdonald back and she should be on go earlier here; top call. (2) LADY CHRISLYN had two rough trips in a row now she draws well. She has upset possibilities tonight. (4) DELIGHT BAYAMA was 2nd to a big chalk that looked close to unbeatable last week. She can't be tossed from multi-race tickets. (5) RIBBON RIDGE had a good debut and she can take another slice here.

Race 7: F&M 5YO and Younger NW5 or $85,000 LT

(5) WESTERN WISH was at a huge tactical disadvantage at Grand River and she raced great in defeat. She can get the job done vs. these. (9) GAME OF SHADOWS was in an even worse spot starting from the 8 hole which wins at lower than a 1 per cent clip in pacing races at Grand River. Put a line through that race and she is a contender here at a price. (4) DABARNDAWGSWATCHIN was used hard early and she re-rallied late. She isn't out of this. (2) JODY rallied well in a race where the winner rewrote the track record. The Hensley barn has been going well of late and she can't be tossed.

Race 8: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS 2YO Fillies

(7) DEWITT FOR JOSIE is clearly the best filly in this field and I expect hot driver Roy to make an early move to the front so he can control the fractions. She should be tough to beat in this field. (9) BETTER CATCH GIRL seems to have a favorable pace scenario here and she should blast to the front leaving the gate and parlay a good trip into a high placing. (4) WATCH HER FLY improved her late speed in her last start and she should be part of the Tri or Super tonight. (8) NOVELLA SEELSTER gets post position improvement tonight and I see her taking a share racing from close range.

Race 9: FILLIES and MARES PREFERRED HANDICAP - Pick 4

(5) MAJOR OCCASION A beat many of these last week in a sharp performance. He has to deal with the outside two mares now which makes tonight's assignment tougher, but she might be up to it; slight nod. (7) LIT DE ROSE has developed a lethal late kick and she is likely to drop back early and find a helmet to follow. She is the one to beat. (6) SO MUCH MORE can never be discounted but she isn’t as dominant as she was earlier in the year. She can win but she could get overbet, too. (4) SNOW SHARK should rally for a slice again.

Race 10: ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS 2YO Fillies

I thought (4) WARRAWEE XPAT raced well in the Battle of the Belles Final, chasing a strong winner. She has a great shot here as the likely chalk. (2) GIRL SCOUT COOKIE is undefeated with Filion in the bike and she produced a much faster kicker last week. She should be the main danger. (1) AT MY PEAK fits better in Grassroots company and I could see her improving tonight; using underneath. (5) LYONS BELIEVER should pass a few of these late and land in the Super.

Race 11: F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $35,000 LT AE: NW $2,000 L4

(1) AINT SHE PERFECT has had less than perfect trips in her two local starts. I like her starting from the inside here and her price should be decent in a race that has several live options. (2) SETTN A PRECEDENT keeps improving and coming off a sharp 1:51 1/5 win, she is the one to beat. (9) SWEET PINK is another hot filly, but from out there I prefer to use her underneath tonight. (7) DOCS DELIGHT hasn't missed the board this year and she should be part of the Tri or Super racing from close range.

Race 12: F&M 5YO and Younger NW3 or $57,000 LT

(2) GOOD NIGHT MOON couldn't keep up to a leader that rewrote a track record, but no one could. She fits well here and gets the nod. (5) SHIATZU SEELSTER has a similar profile and you'll notice that she was 2nd to the choice in two races straight recently; using. (3) VOLUPTUOUS shoots for six straight Mohawk Park wins but this is her toughest test to date and I wouldn't take a short price here. (7) SMILE BY THE BEACH and (8) SPELLCHECK HANOVER fought it out in a fast mile but a fresh rival blew by both of them late. They are good candidates for the bottom of the exotics.
