Top Pick Stats: 105/303 (-$84.20) Best Bets: 11/26 (-$8.90); Spot Plays: 6/27 (-$24.40) Best Bet: COULD BE QUEEN (Race 7) Spot Play: MADRID A (Race 5) Early Pick 5: 2,7/3,7/3,4/2,6,8/1   $4.80 Late Pick 5: 1,6/6/1,3,7/5/5,9   $2.40 Race 1: 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) RACES OR $25,250 LIFETIME. (2) CABALLERO was on his way to a win before making a break, and then almost came back and won anyway. He is the one to beat if he minds his manners. (7) ULTRA MYLES is between stakes starts but that shouldn’t stop him from being aggressively handled and in a great spot to grab a big piece. (6) LANCELOT draws better but made a break after never being involved last time. He should be passing horses late. (5) HOUSTON SEELSTER can hang on for a piece if given another chance towards the front. [DRF HARNESS: Get Harness Eye PPs for this card] Race 2: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,100 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (7) WHOLETTHEDOGSOUT was under a McClure death grip as he rolled by to produce a big upset on debut. Hard to look past a visually impressive effort like that. (3) FULL OF COLORS has produced two solid morning preps. You would expect these connections to have him ready to step forward. (5) CALYPSO CREEK still finished with interest after sitting close and being locked in for a part of the stretch. I prefer him over (4) MANDESTINY who really should’ve had more to offer off that trip. He should’ve at least gotten by the #5 last week. Race 3: FILLIES & MARES, NW $15,000 LAST 5 OR $35,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $70,000. AE: NW OF 4 RACES OR $100,000 LIFETIME. (4) ONE LAST WISH could produce another down the road effort when dropping from the Preferred. She draws perfectly to try it. (3) TELLS ON A ROLL was locked in until the last few strides last week. She can be forgiven despite the subpar effort two back. (5) IN THE SPOTLIGHT N raced great again with a cover trip but I wonder how long she’ll be able to produce efforts like that. (2) SORCHA SEELSTER is a head scratcher, and will likely be overbet off that closing effort. I’ll look elsewhere. Race 4: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (2) COLD CREEK CALI produced a strong back half at Kawartha on debut and should have every chance to step forward on the bigger track. (6) ON FLEEK has been chasing better fillies. I think J-Mac gets her in a better spot this week. (8) BARBUDA has also been facing tougher foes but draws poorly tonight. We could see some gate speed from her. (3) MAKEMBLUSH HANOVER hasn’t done much wrong and races for top connections, but I’ll side with ones who have racing experience. Race 5: FILLIES & MARES, NW $9,000 LAST 5 OR $19,500 LAST 10 STARTS. AE: OPT. CLM. $50,000. (1) MADRID A bottomed out this field last week with a powerful performance. I think McNair will land on this mare. (8) LADYTERRA has had no chances lately given the trips and company she has faced. Look for a big effort from her tonight. (5) COZ IM SPECIAL continued to make up ground all the way to the wire. She raced well, but I don’t know what kind of trip she gets here. (10) BLINDED BY DELIGHT came up short as the favorite last week and doesn’t get any help with post ten. J-Mac could be forced to blast. Race 6: DREAM MAKER: 2 YEAR OLD OPEN PACE. LEG 2. (1) DAD could only chase the dust of the runaway winner in leg one. It didn’t help that he set blistering fractions up top. With that rival not here, it opens the door for a winning effort from him. (6) STINGRAY DEO was following the winner’s cover until a horse came out and made a ton of contact with him, causing him to make a break. He deserves another try. (3) STONEBRIDGE BLUFF closed to be best of the rest in leg one. He can hit the board here. (4) CRAZY TRAIN was aggressively handled and shaved five seconds. Tonight is a much tougher test. Race 7: 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES: NW 1 RACE OR $8,000 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (6) COULD BE QUEEN showed the most of anyone here in her latest and draws perfectly on the drop. I would expect her to be forward no matter who ends up driving. (7) C J DESBI has been solid in her two Mohawk starts, and Plante has the ability to get great staying power out of any horse on the front. (1) LDS KIMBERLY is a filly who I think has enough speed to contend, though the early miscues loom as a problem. (3) SANGRIA SUMMER gets a reference point as we’ll see how Makemblush Hanover races earlier in the card. She can step forward and grab a check. Race 8: 2 YEAR OLD COLTS & GELDINGS: NW 1 RACE OR $8,100 LIFETIME. NO ALLOWANCES. (3) ILLICIT BEHAVIOUR has been a handful for McClure in both starts. He is difficult to place right now because of that, but I’ll give him the nod. (7) BARRACUDA HANOVER cruised in his latest. I assume Borth will at least float out so he doesn’t repeat the debut trip. He is the wild card in here. (1) ELMER HANOVER sat the pocket all the way around but didn’t let anyone else by. I hesitate after trips like that because he didn’t do much work, but it was a solid mile. (4) DIME BETTOR will take support given the connections he races for. He can step forward and contend on debut. [DRF HARNESS: Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter] Race 9: FILLIES & MARES PREFERRED. (5) CAVIAR N CRACKERS is the mare to beat until proven otherwise. I have no idea why she went off at 6-5 last week, but I’m sure many were happy. You won’t get that tonight. (2) SHES GOT IT ALL paced home very well in her latest and could be the one to make this race pay a little bit if she gets the right trip. (3) GLENBORO has earned over $100K the hard way this year. She is a gritty mare. (6) STYLE FOR A MILE was apparently going to be right there with Caviar N Crackers given how she was bet, but then broke at the start again. She is another head scratcher. Race 10: FILLIES & MARES, 5 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 3 RACES OR $50,000 (OS $69,500) LIFETIME. (9) SIMPLY THE BEST was a strong winner last week and should provide better value with the wide post draw. This is an extremely tough finale. (5) SUGAR PIE HONEY made two moves in her latest and now draws better. One of many contenders. (8) FOREVERAFTERALL was off for a few weeks before her latest and came up short as the favorite. She can improve tonight and rebound. (3) ROCKS SHADOW can capitalize if the pace gets hot. She has a very strong closing kick. (1) WICKED N SINGLE should take support off the drop from the Gold level. She can round out the Hi-5.
